A PugHearts Pug is a happy Pug! Can you help one of Our Dogs?
-Jd-
JD is an adorable fawn male. He is an owner surrender due to his older owners not being able to care for him any longer. He is just over 6 years old. He has just been neutered, microchipped and brought up to date on his vaccinations.

JD has some vision problems which are common to pugs and for this he receives daily drops. This means his vision is impaired, especially in low-light situations but he gets around quite well. He also has a minor yeast infection to his skin but is on medication which will clear this shortly.

JD is a very timid, scared little guy who doesn't understand why he is homeless. We are sure that once he feels comfortable with his foster family we will start to see his true personality shine through. Hopefully he won't be in foster too long and his new family will get the joy of discovering JD's true colors!

ADOPTED

Abbey
Abbey is a 4 year old black female. She came to us through a local shelter. She is mildly heartworm positive. She is in otherwise good health. She has been spayed, microchipped and is up to date on her vaccinations. Abbey is a very sweet girl, very timid and quiet.

From Abbey's Foster Mom: Abby is quite a sweet little girl. As you can see from her pictures, she is absolutely beautiful. Her coat is SOLID black and she has one of the prettiest faces I have seen on a pug (and I'm not a bit biased!) It's obvious that she has been someone's pet and I believe she was pampered. Abby talks to me when she wants something. The first time I heard her I wasn't sure what it was, I thought a kitten may have been stuck somewhere outside, but it was Abby. She has several little noises and they are all really cute. She does bark when the other dogs get started but she's never the one to start it. She is definitely a companion, she wants to be on my lap all the time. She has a tendency to be an alpha, she does like to have things her way. She has never been aggressive, she's just very determined. She likes to play with toys and she has impeccable house manners, she has not had one accident. She also likes to play with her pug brothers. I think she would do well in a home with another dog. She does well with large dogs (Great Dane) but has not been exposed to cats. She has a very loving and playful personality and will make some lucky family a wonderful new addition!

Alexis
Alexis is a fawn female. She came to us from an out of state puppy mill where she was used for breeding. She is 6 years old. Poor Alexis was suffering from a painful left eye injury, hookworms and ringworms. She is also heartworm positive. We were unable to save her eye but now that it has been removed she is pain free. She has also been spayed so she never has to worry about having puppies again. Her hookworms and ringworms should be clear now that she's received medications and her heartworm treatment will begin shortly. This sweet little girl has had a pretty rough life so far but we've promised her that those days are far behind her and we will find somebody who will treat her like the cherished pet she should've always been.

ADOPTED

Amanda
Amanda is a fawn female. She comes to us from a local animal control facility. We believe she is just 2 years old. She is severe heartworm positive and will begin treatment shortly. She also is suffering from a case of hookworms that is being treated. She has been spayed and brought current on her vaccinations. She is a really sweet little girl that deserves a chance at a healthy, happy life.

ADOPTED

Amelia
Amelia is a fawn female. She was thrown out of a car and a Good Samaritan who witnessed this rescued her and called us to help her. We believe she is about 5 years old. She looks like she has probably been used by a puppy mill. She has been negected as well as overbred. She is severe heartworm positive, suffering from whipworms & hookworms and has a severe skin irritation due to fleas. Despite everything that she has been through she is a sweet, gentle girl who loves to be held and be around people. She is content to be held an cuddled for long periods of time. She is being spayed and will begin heartworm treatment soon. She needs a special home that will show her what the life of a spoiled princess puggy can be like.

From Amelia's Foster: Amelia is so sweet. She loves her humans and must be in constant contact. She loves to have her tummy rubbed. She is also quite playful and plays chase with the other dogs. She gets on well with children and adults alike. She is currently working on being housetrained.

ADOPTED

Ana
Ana is a sweet little black female - though it's tough to tell with her current skin condition. She came to us through an animal cruelty case with the SPCA. She has now been released to us to get her well and find her a new home. We estimate she is between 3 to 4 years old, though everyone thinks she is a puppy when they first see her. She is a very petite little girl but she is definitely an adult dog. She has been brought up to date on her vaccinations and will be spayed prior to placement. Right now she is suffering from a severe case of demodectic mange. As many of you will remember, we have seen this before with Dougie and Mandi. With proper treatment she will turn into a beautiful girl.

Ana is a very friendly, loving little girl. Even though she's had a very rough time she still is a very happy, playful girl. We have promised her that we will find her the perfect home to make up for the lack of love & care that she's had. Someone will be very lucky to call her theirs.

ADOPTED

Annie
Annie is a sweet fawn female. She comes to us from a local shelter where she had been picked up from the streets so we don't know her history. We estimate she is about 8 years old. She is in good health though she does require drops to one eye for 'dry eye' - her vision is just fine. She has been spayed, microchipped and brought up to date on her vaccinations. She also had an umbilical hernia removed but that won't cause any further issues.

Annie is a very calm, serene girl. She is very friendly and loves to be loved on, but she is not an excitable gal. She prefers to sit back and relax. She is housebroken and gets on well with other animals. If you are looking for a true lap dog/couch potato, Annie might well be your girl!

ADOPTED

Annie 2
Annie is a fawn female. She is 1 year old. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations. She does have a scarred right eye which does not seem to cause her any issues. She is in excellent health.

From Annie's Foster: Annie is a very energetic, 1 year old, female, fawn. She loves to play and does very well with other dogs, even ones that are twice her size. She is also a very good eater, as most pugs are! When she isn't running around playing, she likes to lay in her bed and chew raw hide bones. She has never displyed any other chewing habits, such as on shoes or anything else laying around. Her foster parents are still working on potty training, but she is already doing a great job! Annie loves people! She is very comfortable approaching new people and will often lay on a strangers lap to be a part of the group. Annie is very affectionate and loves to cuddle on the couch and give lots of kisses. We hardley ever hear her bark, and if she does it's at excitement to see us come home. Annie would make a great pet for anyone who has another small pet at home that likes to play.

ADOPTED

Apple
Who's the Apple of your eye? This darling boy is sure to be! Apple is a gorgeous fawn male. He's a bit of a youngster - just barely 1 year old. We're not sure what his story is, but he was found wandering alone with no tags or microchip. When his owners could not be found he was turned over to us to find him a home that wouldn't let him go. Apparently nobody had been looking after him because he has tested low heartworm positive. He will begin treatment immediately and should convert to negative within the next couple of months. He has not been neutered but he will be this week. He has been brought up to date on his vaccinations and microchipped.

Apple is pretty much what you would expect for a young guy his age. He still has quite a bit of puppy in him and is very playful. He's a sweetie who loves attention. He will probably need to learn some house manners but since he's so young that shouldn't take long. He seems very eager to please and friendly.

ADOPTED

Archie
Archie is a black male. We believe he is about 5 years old. He was found wandering the streets alone with no collar or microchip. It's obvious that nobody has been looking after him as he is severe heartworm positive. He will begin aggressive treatment shortly. He has already been neutered and is now also current on his vaccinations and microchipped.

From Archie's Foster: Archie is one cool dude. He is very laid back and gets along with everyone in the house. His favorite things are (in this order) EATING, napping and taking long walks with the pack. He loves to sniff everything outside! Archie is usually the one lagging behind on our walks because he almost never takes his nose off the ground. He adorably barks in his sleep, and then wakes himself up. He has learned to sit and stay and will go into his crate on command. He has the cutest white markings on his chin, chest and front paws, as though he lay down in a puddle of white pain. He is a happy go lucky little guy and is great with children.

ADOPTED

Ariel
Ariel is a fawn female. She is 3 years old. She comes to us from a local shelter. She is heartworm postive and will begin treatment shortly. She has been spayed, microchipped and brought current on her vaccinations.

From Ariel's foster: Ariel is a sweet, gentle little lady. She loves to snuggle and give pug kisses and play chase. She is completely house trained and is very well mannered. She would love to lay on your lap bundled up in a blanket all day.

ADOPTED

Arnold
Arnold is an adorable black male. He is a young fellow - about 1 1/2 years old - so he still has quite a bit of puppy in him. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations. He is in excellent health.

Arnold is a lively, energetic young guy who needs someone who can keep up with him. He also needs someone who has the patience and time to work with him to help him learn to be the perfect pet. As anyone knows who has ever trained a puppy, consistency is important and he would do well in a home where someone can devote time to his training. In return, you will have a faithful and devoted friend for life. Arnold is a very friendly guy who loves to meet new people. He also does well with children. Arnold is your typical happy, energetic pup who is looking for the right family to share their lives with him.

Ashley is a fawn female. She is 2 years old and came to us as an owner surrender. She is in good health. She has been microchipped, spayed and is current on her vaccinations.

Asia
Asia is a sweet fawn female. She is an owner surrender due to family changes along with her 'sister' Hillary. She is already spayed and is current on her vaccinations. She is 6 years old and in good health except for being a bit too 'fluffy.' She is now on a diet to help her lose some weight before the heat of summer.

Asia is housebroken and is very used to being in a home with a doggie door. She does great with other dogs as well as kids. She is a playful, sweet girl who loves to cuddle.

ADOPTED

Atticus
Atticus is a fawn pug mix. He mommy was a pug rescued by PugHearts shortly before his birth.

From Atticus' foster: Atticus is an adorable little male puppy that was born Jan. 16th. He seems to be the brainy one of the litter. He is the first to catch on to everything new. His parentage is a bit hazy. His mother is a pure pug but who knows about his papa? Though speculation is that his dad may have been a jack russell. He is such a sweet puppy and wants only to shower his puppy breath kisses on you. Who can resist that? He is very healthy and will be neutered before he is adopted out. He is looking for his forever home and would be an amazing fit for any family that doesn't mind the training of a new puppy. Can you give Atticus the home that he deserves?

ADOPTED

Audrey
Audrey is a beautiful fawn female. We estimate she is between 2 to 3 years old. Unfortunately she is heartworm positive and will be starting treatment soon. She is housebroken and gets on well with other dogs. Her foster Mom describes her as a "cuddler and a lover."

From Audrey's foster: There are not words to describe how beautiful, sweet and gentle Audrey is. She was aptly named, she could put on a pearl necklace and be Audrey Hepburn’s pampered pet in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. She acts like royalty. She will sit on my lap as long as I will sit still. Then she’s right on the couch when I sit back down waiting for me to cuddle her again. She is the perfect Pug! She is housetrained and she has never done anything wrong. She wasn’t sure about the eye drops at first but now she is fine with it. She LOVES to sleep in the bed! As you can probably tell, Audrey has stolen my heart and all it will take is one look from her beautiful eyes and she will steal yours also!

ADOPTED

Axel
Axel is a fawn pug mix. He mommy was a pug rescued by PugHearts shortly before his birth.

From Axel's foster: Axel is the cutest little puppy that ever lived (I am a bit biased though)! He was born Jan. 16th. He is the most affectionate one of his litter. He Just wants to be held and given some loving. His parentage is a bit hazy. His mother is a pure pug but who knows about his papa? Though speculation is that his dad may have been a jack russell. He is such a ball of energy and would be great for a household with children along with any of his other littermates. He is very healthy and will be neutered before he is adopted out. He is looking for his forever home and would be an amazing fit for any family that doesn't mind the training of a new puppy. Can you give Axel the home that he deserves?

ADOPTED

B.B.
B.B. is a black male. He is only 1 year old. He is an owner surrender through no fault of his own. He is in good health and is heartworm negative. He is not neutered but will be prior to placement. Is is current on his vaccinations and has been microchipped. B.B. is a cutie, but he obviously has not been given much training. He is learning the rules of the house and how to walk on a lead. He will need to go to a home with lots of patience and structure, as training a puppy takes a lot of time and consistency.

B.J.
B.J. is a black male. He is 6 years old. He was an owner surrender through no fault of his own. He is in good health except for some itchy skin that we are treating. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

From BJ's foster: BJ can't help it. He captures your heart immediately. He loves to have his back and chest rubbed and wants to thank you when you do. He is so excited to greet you and be with you. He likes to be playful, but will also settle down if he can cuddle next to you. He's rather indifferent to cats because he's so focused on being with you and getting attention. Cats don't give him attention so he doesn't notice them, unless they happen to get into the spot next to you before he does. Then he just sulks and patiently waits for an invitation to join you both! He cooperates well being in the kennel. Something to chew on helps him pass the time. He knows how to sit and is essentially house-broken.

ADOPTED

Baby
Baby is a 7 year old fawn female. She is up to date on her vaccinations and is heartworm negative. She has been microchipped as well. She will be spayed prior to adoption. Baby is an owner surrender due to family changes. She is housebroken and gets on well with other pugs. In fact, Baby would do best in a home with another dog as she doesn't like to be left alone.

Poor Baby came to us with severely neglected teeth. She underwent surgery to have some extracted and it was found that she had an infection that had intruded into her jawbone. She had extensive surgery to remove the infected sections but has recovered completely. She is in good health.

Do not be fooled by Baby's age - she is no shy, retiring grandma! This little lady just adores toys and attention! She's even become quite adept at stealing toys from her younger foster sister. And she enjoys the occasional tail-chasing too. But when the time comes, she's quick to jump up on the sofa and cuddle in front of the TV. She's quite a little lover-girl!

ADOPTED

Bailey
Bailey is a handsome fawn male. He is 3 years old. He was adopted from an animal control facility by someone who was then unable to keep him. He has been microchipped, is up to date on his vaccinations and recently neutered. He is heartworm negative and on preventative.

Bailey is a very playful boy who would enjoy being around other dogs and children. He does have an eye condition, keratitis pigmentosa, which means he has chronic dry eyes and some limitations to his vision. This is a very common condition in pugs due to their protruding eyes. However, with daily drops he should have improvement. He is otherwise healthy.

Bailey is a sweetheart of a boy who needs a family who doesn't mind giving him eyedrops twice a day and who is ready to handle this bundle of energy. Though he likes to be petted, it does not appear that anybody has spent much cuddle-time with Bailey. So he will also need a family that can teach him how important cuddling is to a pug!

Bailey 2
Bailey is a handsome 4 year old fawn male. He is in good health and is heartworm negative. He does have some current skin itchiness but we believe that is from his fleas which we have cleared. He has been neutered and is current on his vaccinations. He is a big boy - he currently weighs 24 lbs - but is not overweight. He's just a big guy.

He is full of energy and gets on well with other dogs. He is housetrained and does not mark. He knows his name and follows basic commands like Sit and Come. He seems to be a very well behaved fellow who is looking for a home to be a part of.

ADOPTED

Bandit
Bandit is an absolutely gorgeous fawn male. He is 2 years old and comes to us as an owner surrender. His original owner passed away and he has not found the right home since. Unfortunately in all the shuffling around, somebody neglected to keep Bandit on his heartworm preventative. His is now heartworm positive and will be starting treatment immediately. He is in otherwise good health except for being a bit thin. He has been brought up on date on his vaccinations and microchipped. He will be neutered prior to placement.

Bandit is a very sweet, gentle boy who obviously had a loving owner at one time. He is very well behaved and even knows commands like 'sit!' But it looks like since he lost his owner people have not been too kind to him. Bandit is a very timid little guy who needs to be loved and cuddled. He would not do well in a home with lots of other animals or small children due to the noise and excitement level. This little guy needs a place to chill out and a safe, loving environment in which we know he will thrive and come out of his shell.

ADOPTED

Bandit 2
Bandit is a 2 year old fawn male. He is an owner surrender. He is heartworm negative and in good health. He has been neutered, microchipped and current on his vaccinations.

From Bandit's Foster: Bandit is a sweet 2 year old male. He loves to cuddle. He is very playful gets along well with other dogs. He loves being with people. Bandit loves to follow you around and he is learning how much fun it is to play with toys.

ADOPTED

Barnaby
Barnaby is an adorable fawn male. He comes to us from a local shelter. We estimate he is about 10 years old. He has been brought current on his vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. He also had a teeth cleaning which obviously has not been done in a long time as he needed several teeth pulled due to cavities. His remaining teeth are in good shape and he shouldn't have any further problems if looked after properly. He also has the "dry eye" we see so much in pugs that have been outside for a long time. This means his eyes don't produce enough lubrication and he will need drops daily from here on out.

Update from his foster: Hi, my name is Barnaby and my foster mom says I am the sweetest pug (she’s smart). I get along well with all kinds of dogs. I am about 10 years old and well mannered because I don’t jump up on the furniture or pull at my leash on my walks. However I can get upset if I am left in a crate and I will protest loudly. I really do better if you use a baby gate and leave me in one of the rooms. I am a talker, and will greet you when you get home.. I will follow you everywhere all day long and at night I will snuggle up to you in your bed, and I barely snore at all. I hope I find a home with someone who is at home with me a lot, cause I love to be around my people.

ADOPTED

Bea
Bea is a gorgeous senior fawn female. We estimate she is about 10-12 years old. She comes to us from a local shelter so we don't know her background. However, it looks like she hasn't been anybody's pet for a while. Thankfully she is heartworm negative but her nails were so overgrown that they had grown into the pads of her feet. She has one "small" eye that never developed - probably has been that way all her life. She sees fine with the other one and probably doesn't know her vision is different than other dogs. She has a bit of a skin issue right now as she seems to have a flea allergy. And living on the streets wouldn't help that at all. But now that she's in our care that should clear. She is a sweetheart of a girl that deserves to be somebody's pampered pet.

ADOPTED

Beau
Beau is a sweet fawn male. He is 9 years old and comes to us from a puppy mill where he has been used for breeding. He has now been neutered so he can relax and enjoy his "retirement." He is current on his vaccinations and has been microchipped. He is in excellent health.

Beau is a cuddler. He loves nothing better than to snuggle up with a human and keep their lap warm. He is a sweet, gentle fellow who has a lot of time to make up for. Now that he knows what it's like to be a pampered pet and not a "working" dog, he is ready to become your new best friend.

ADOPTED

Beaudreax
Boudreaux is a gorgeous 2 1/2 year old fawn male. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on all of his vaccinations. He has no health issues.

Boudreaux is an absolute sweetheart. He is very even-tempered and is a 'shadow' following you from room to room, lying down quietly beside you. He also enjoys playing with toys. He gets along very well with other dogs, though he tends to be a bit timid when with a large group. He is definitely not an Alpha dog. He gets along well with cats too as well as older children.

He is housebroken and knows how to use a doggie door. He rides very well in cars and walks well on a lead. He is learning some basic commands but already comes when called. Boudreaux is a wonderful dog who will make someone a fantastic companion. So if you like kisses and having a soft little furball sleep on your pillow at night, Boudreaux might just be the puggie you've been looking for!

Beauregard
Beauregard was rescued from a local shelter, so his history is unknown. He is estimated to be about 8 years old, which means he has just entered middle age! He is a beautiful dark fawn pug with a touch of distinguished grey around his face.

Beauregard has recently been neutered and had several teeth pulled. He is in excellent health. He is current on all vaccinations and has been microchipped.

He is a sweet, gentle soul who loves to be cuddled. He still has a bit of playfulness in him and gets along well with other dogs. If you're looking for a calm, serene companion then Beau is for you.

It does not appear that Beau has been the pampered indoor pet he should have been, and therefore he has needed some housetraining. However, he does respond well to commands and seems eager to please.

Please consider a mature pug like Beau - there is no more rewarding or fulfilling feeling than knowing you have given an older pug a new lease on life.

Bella
Bella is a sweet black female who was found on the streets by a good samaritan who called us to come rescue her. She is estimated to be between 3 to 4 years old.

As she was a stray, we do not know her history. She is a sweet, timid soul who has lost her faith in humans. She has been brought up to date on her vaccinations and has been microchipped and spayed.

For those of you who have been following Bella's story, you will notice the huge difference in her appearance in these updated photos. Poor Bella was suffering from a severe skin condition when she came to us. She has now finished her treatments and as you can tell she is now the beautiful puggy we alway knew she would be!

Bella is a cuddly sweetheart who needs someone who will shower her with affection and love her for the beautiful pug she is inside and (now) outside.

Bella 2
Bella is a beautiful fawn female. She is 3 1/2 years old and in excellent health. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on all of her vaccinations.

Bella is an owner surrender. Her family travels quite a bit and liked to take her on trips with them, but Bella does not do very well on car trips. She has a bit of a nervous tummy and had problems every time she went on trips. So, her owners thought Bella would be better off with someone who was a 'homebody' like her. She's a very sweet girl who is housebroken and gets along very well with other dogs. But she just wants to hang out at home. So now we need to find her that new home and that new owner that wants to be a 'homebody' with her.

Bella 3
Bella is a fawn female who we estimate to be 5 or 6 years old. She has been brought current on his vaccinations, microchipped and spayed. She is in good health.

From Bella's foster: It is apparent that she had been previously cared for as she is in good health (heart worm negative) and well groomed. Most of the time she is all lady. However, she can be ill-tempered to the other male dogs in the house. She is house broken. She loves to sit by your side or on your lap, and follow her foster parents around. She knows how to play with toys, but is learning how to play with other dogs. She can be somewhat aggressive when playing with people. She play bites but does not hurt you, and she growls and shows her teeth when playing, which we think is her way of playing. We would not recommend her for a family with young children. She has tended to show more affection to her male foster parent. She would be especially good for a single dog home.

ADOPTED

Belladonna
Belladonna is a gorgeous fawn female. She is a one year old girl who was turned into a shelter by her family. We cannot imagine why. She is beautiful, hyper and everything a 1 year old female should be. She will be seen by our vet this week for her spay and to update her vaccinations. She appears to be very healthy.

She is doing great with multiple dogs and is scared of nothing. She is smaller and thinks chase is the best game ever. Belladonna would prefer a house with lots of activity and at least one other dog to keep her company (and amused.)

ADOPTED

Belle
Belle is an 8 year old fawn female. She is 8 years old. She is an owner surrender due to family changes. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on vaccinations. She is heartworm negative. She is in very good shape but does suffer from 'dry eye' that is so common in pugs and therefore needs daily drops to her eyes. She does have vision loss due to this condition.

Belle is a sweet girl that is used to living with children. She also gets on very well with other dogs.

From Belle's foster: Belle has finally got to the point that she fully trust us. We believe that she had a hard time with all the changes in her life, she really did not feel comfortable about pushing the envelope. Now, she is in charge of our house and dictates policy around here. She went to the vet last Saturday and she is in good health and she is current with all her shots and treatments. We have let her gain a few pounds, so we are in the process of cutting back on her two meals and treats. She weights 25 pounds and the vet wants her back around 20 pounds. She is not happy about the reduction in her treats after her comes in from using the bathroom.

ADOPTED

Ben
Ben is a fawn male. He comes to us from a shelter so we don't know his history. He is between 4 to 5 years old. He is in pretty good health except for a case of mange which is being treated. He is heartworm negative. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

From Ben's foster: He is one cool puggie. The perfect balance of snuggle bunny and play companion. He wags his whole body and follows you around the house making "C" curves in alternating directions with his body. He's housebroken and does not mark. He's a little underweight for his size which is kind of tall with large-boned legs, and his coat is kind of rough; but with the way he loves to eat that won't last long. He fit in seamlessly with our pack, playing with the playful ones and deferring to the dominant members. My alpha bitch is in love (as are we), and she washes his face and ears and play bows to him. He loves rawhide chewies, and will calmly sit on your lap, by your side, or cuddled next to you in the bed (his favorite spot.) He rarely barks or licks, but does have an array of whimpers and grunts - especially when wrestling with human or dog. This guy would make a perfect companion for anyone.

ADOPTED

Benny
Benny is a fawn male. He is only 1 year old. He was an owner surrender. He came to us with severe bladder stones. He has had surgery to clear the blockage. He is now on a special diet to prevent further stone formation and he will need to remain on that diet for the rest of his life. He is in otherwise good health. He is heartworm negative. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

From Benny's foster: Benny is a cute loving puppy. He loves to play with his sisters and brothers. He loves toys and will play fetch with you. He knows commands such as Sit, Lay and Shake paws. He is just looking for a family that will love him.

ADOPTED

Bentley
Bentley is a 10 year old fawn male. He is an owner surrender. He is moderately heartworm positive and has begun conservative treatment. He is current on his vaccinations and has been neutered.

ADOPTED

Beth
Beth is a gorgeous black female. She is approximately 3 years old. This poor little girl has been through a lot lately. She came to us after being hit by a car. She had fractured her pelvis in 3 places and required crate rest to heal. We are happy to report that she has made a full recovery and is now up and about with no residual effects. She is missing her right eye but that must've happened quite a long time ago. She is heartworm negative, spayed and otherwise healthy.

ADOPTED

Betty
Betty is a fawn female. She was found wandering the streets by a Good Samaritan who took her in but could not keep her. We believe she is about 6 years old. She is a bit overweight and needs a diet. She has been brought up to date on her vaccinations, microchipped and is spayed.

Betty is a very sweet laid back girl. She loves a good back rub. She is good with kids and gives lots of kisses. You never have to guess where Betty is because she stays right at your feet. It only takes a small glance in her direction and her entire body is wagging with her little tail. Betty is a very sweet natured dog. She is great about letting you know when she needs to use the bathroom, she will go to the closest door and stand. If that doesn't work she will scratch on the door. Betty would be completely happy being an only dog but would also do great with another dog as long as she can be alpha.

Beverly
Beverly is a sweet fawn female. We estimate she is about 5 years old. She was found abandoned in a parking lot without any tags or microchip. She has been spayed, microchipped and is now current on her vaccinations. Unfortunately Miss Beverly also was suffering from a massive, painful bladder stone. She has had surgery to remove the stone and is in recovery. Right now she has issues with bladder control, but that is to be expected and she should regain control now that her bladder is free of stones. She will need a follow-up appointment for a teeth cleaning but otherwise will not need any further medical care except routine visits.

Beverly is a bit of a couch potato. She is very friendly and loving - definitely not an Alpha dog. She is getting used to being in a house and is learning about housetraining rules. This little girl is ready to find her new family who will keep her healthy and safe.

ADOPTED

Big John
Big John is an adorable black male. He was an owner surrender through no fault of his own he is 2 1/2 years old. He has tested mildly heartworm positive but is in otherwise excellent health. He has been neutered. He is current on his vaccinations and has been microchipped.

Big John is a very big boy - he weighs 34 pounds! And believe it or not, he is not a fat Pug! Nope, this boy is truly Big Boned. He's a sweetheart of a boy who still thinks he's a lap dog. Unfortunately it doesn't seem that he has been treated like one. He doesn't understand that it's okay to get up on the sofa even though he really wants to cuddle. He also isn't currently housetrained but he is working on it. He doesn't seem to understand the concept of playing with other dogs either. He gets along with them just fine, but just doesn't know how to play yet. He also gets on very well with children. This gentle giant is going to make someone a fantastic pet once he learns the ins and outs of being and inside dog.

Bingo
Bingo is a black male. He was found wandering the streets with no tags or microchip. We believe he is about 2 years old. He is in excellent health. He is heartworm negative and has been neutered. He is current on his vaccinations and has been microchipped. As you can see, he is a handsome, happy guy! He is very sweet and loves to play with small and big dogs.

ADOPTED

Blake
Blake is a fawn male. He is 3 years old. He is a bog boy at 34 pounds so he needs to lose some weight. He is severe heartworm positive and will begin treatment shortly. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

From Blake's Foster: Blake is such an handsome big boy. He may weigh 42 pounds but he acts like a big baby! Because of his weight he is on a strict diet of dog food and green beans. He is great with children and other animals and loves being held and giving kisses. He has to wear a belt around him to keep him from marking around the house, but he has almost completly dropped that habit. He loves being scratched behind the ears and is currently working on learning how to sit. Blake would fit in well with a family with other animals, or as an only dog. The only thing he wants is love, attention, and treats! Blake is such a sweet boy and has a great big heart!

Bobby
There are not words to describe how truly wonderful Bobby is. He is a beautiful, happy, healthy six month old puppy full of life and with an abundance of love to give some very special human. It just so happens he was born without his sight, but as the saying goes "you don't miss what you've never had" and Bobby is a perfect example of this. He has no idea he should be able to see. After I had him for a few days I thought we should change his name to Radar, because he definitely has something very close! He very seldom even comes close to bumping into things, it's like he can feel it there. I have another blind dog that had to get use to the house before he was able to navigate without incident, but Bobby just started running around like he had lived at the house for months. He was so skinny when we got him (6 pounds) that he was frail, I was quite careful when picking him up so I didn't hurt him. Well, Bobby has a HUGE appetite and he no longer has bones sticking out everywhere! Since he has started gaining weight he doesn't sleep as much and is playing like a happy puppy. I have to let him wear himself out and then try to hold him for my cuddles (I need his cuddles). The first time I saw him actually playing with a toy made me cry with joy!

He has also started playing with the other dogs in true puppy fashion. I can't begin to tell you how easy it is to love this little guy. He doesn't have a handicap...he's just the most special foster I have ever had! All he needs is a chance from some special person to show you how great he is! Please be that someone special for Bobby!

Bogart
Bogart is a gorgeous fawn male. He comes to us from a local shelter so we don't know his history. We estimate he is about 2 years old. He is being neutered and brought current on his vaccinations. Bogart's foster reports that he "is a great dog and really really coming into the puggie he always should have been from the day he was born."

Bogie
Bogie is a fawn male. He is an owner surrender through no fault of his own. He is 4 years old. Bogie is a well behaved little gentleman. He is housebroken and knows basic commands. He gets on well with his foster fur-siblings but doesn't appear to be used to being around other animals. Group play is something he is learning. He does love to play with toys though.

ADOPTED

Bond
Bond, James Bond. Fawn male. License to run around like a puppy and steal your heart.

Bonnie
Bonnie is a 6 year old fawn female. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on all of her vaccinations. She is an owner surrender due to family changes.

Bonnie has lost all sight in her left eye due to an injury some years ago. She also has an ulceration to her right eye and has suffered some vision loss in that eye. She still has some vision and is able to get around very well.

At first glance she looks as though she would be a couch potato - but don't believe it! She thoroughly enjoys walks and running around the park. She's a very active, vibrant girl who demands your attention. She is no wallflower!

Bonnie is not yet housebroken but she is learning and does know how to use a doggie door. She gets along very well with children and other dogs.

Bonnie 2
Bonnie is a 5 year old fawn female. She appears to have been used for breeding in her past life but those days are far behind her now! She has now been spayed. Unfortunately she is heartworm positive and is now starting treatment. She is in otherwise good health. She is now current on her vaccinations and microchipped.

From Bonnie's Foster: Bonnie is one fun little dog. She loves human touch because she didn't have very much of that when she was used as a breeder. She is addicted to the internet, and gets very animated whether she is looking at images or watching a video on Youtube. Her special time each day is sitting in my lap at the computer. she also hides her chew toys all over the house, and seems to remember where they all are.

Bonnie is beautifully potty-trained. She does have access to a doggy door, and uses it freely. She is crated at night only because she needs to be reminded of her place in the pack. Bonnie has an Alpha female side to her, and when she first arrived at our home she tried to work her way up the pecking order within our pack of 3 dogs by starting some fights. She is doing well now but it is important to establish the pecking order and keep the structure and routines in tact for her. She responds to well-timed verbal correctons. Bonnie would probably do very well as an only dog or one of 2 dogs where she would be in the number one position, and be paired with a male dog. She loves to go on walks, and is starting to play with stuffed toys. But by far her favorite items are chew toys. AND the INTERNET. She is a hoot

Boo
Boo is a recent transfer from Homeward Bound Pugs in OK.

Boo was abandoned in a home for two weeks with his brother Vincent. They had little or no food or water. A nice lady found out about them and called the police.

Boo had to spend five days in the shelter before he could be turned over to rescue.

Boo looks pretty rough right now and had erlichia from ticks. With some good food and lots of love, he should be looking very handsome in a few weeks. He has lots of hair loss from a flea infestation and is very underweight right now. Despite his ordeal, he is such a happy boy. His tail never stops wagging and he just loves attention. We think Boo if between four and six years old.

Boo is hoping his forever home will soon find him and give him the life he deserves. He is a good boy and gets along great with all the other puggies in his foster home.

Bowie
Bowie is a black male. He is 3 years old. He is an owner surrender through no fault of his own. He is in good health except for being a bit overweight. He is heartworm negative. He is neutered, microchipped and current on his vaccinations.

From Bowie (with a little help from his foster): Hi! I'm Bowie! I've been told that I need to tell you a little bit about myself. So, let me start off with the fact that "little" is not a term that is normally used to describe me! I'm a big guy, with a big personality! I currently weigh about 32 lbs, but that's down a bit from when I first came to PugHearts. My foster mom tells me that we still have a few more pounds to go - but that I shouldn't feel badly because I'm just a big pug in general. She tells me how handsome I am and that she couldn't love me any more any other way. I'm on a diet, and so far, it hasn't been too bad. She also tells me that I remind her of a bear cub sometimes - maybe that's because I'm so cuddly. I love to cuddle with her or my foster dad on the couch when they watch tv or read. Hmm..what else can I tell you? Oh, I'm about 3 or 4 years old, I'm healthy and I go potty outside! (She says that's a real plus!). I like the other dogs in my foster home too. I'm a pretty friendly and social kinda guy. I like to play sometimes, but mostly I like to relax or chew on a good bone. I certainly don't mean to brag - but my foster mom says I'm quite a catch!

Brady
Brady is an adorable fawn male. He is about 3 years old. He came to us when he was taken to a local animal shelter after being hit by a car. This poor little guy was suffering from a broken leg and has since undergone surgery to repair it. Unfortunately his bad luck didn't end there as he has tested positive for heartworms. He has been started on conservative therapy but he will soon begin more aggressive treatment. Meanwhile he has been neutered, microchipped and brought up to date on all of his vaccinations.

ADOPTED

Bridget
Bridget is a gorgeous fawn female who was found wandering around by a Good Samaritan who took her in and tried to find her family. Unfortunately nobody had microchipped her and nobody came forward to claim her, so she was turned over to us to find her a new home. We estimate she is about 3-4 years old. She is now microchipped and has been brought current on her vaccinations. She appears to be a healthy girl.

She’s a very sweet girl who is definitely a lap dog. She very much loves humans and likes to be near someone who can cuddle her. She enjoys sleeping in a human bed and is not much of a morning pug.

She appears used to living with a cat and also gets on well with other dogs. She also gets on very well with children and is described by her foster as “very tolerant of lots of kid hugs.” She is quite playful, enjoying a game of fetch or tug-o-war.

PLEASE NOTE: Bridget and Clifford are a bonded pair and as such will only be adopted out together.

ADOPTED

Brittany
Brittany is a fawn female. She comes to us from a local shelter so we don't know her history. We estimate she is between 3 to 4 years old. She has one "bad" eye and one "good" eye. She is a sweet little lady.

From Brittany's foster: Britney is a sweet active girl. She would do best in a household with another dog who loves to play, as she has fallen head over paws in love with another Pughearts foster, Mr. Dill Pickle! They play constantly, and she practically moons over him. She knows the basic command "sit", and has shown that she is a fairly quick learner. She has a few unique traits and talents, she can jump up waist high from a stand still (very unusual for a pug), and she has the cutest little underbite with a tongue that sticks out a bit on a regular basis. She was stuck to me like glue initially, but now that she feels more secure in the home and the family routine, she is settling down. Bed sleeper she is as well, has to be snuggled right up to your side, now who wouldn't want a dog like her?

ADOPTED

Brodi
Brodi is a fawn male puppy. Yes, he is actually only 9 months old though he looks much older! This not-so-little guy appears to be a Pug-Bulldog mix. At 9 months of age he still has his baby teeth but already weighs 30 pounds. It doesn't look like he will be much taller, but he will probably get a bit bigger around.

Brodi was found wandering the streets and taken in by a Good Samaritan who tried to find his family. Unfortunately, it does not appear that anyone has been caring for this guy as he is positive for hookworms, Demodex mange and a yeast infection on his skin. He is currently undergoing treatment and will recovery fully. He has been brought up to date on his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered.

Brodi is every bit a puppy - very playful and sweet. He gets along very well with other dogs and even cats. He is also very good with young children. He is housebroken but still has a lot to learn. Now he needs someone to teach him cool stuff like how to play ball and sit for treats!

ADOPTED

Bruce
Bruce is a 5 year old fawn male. He came to us from a local shelter. He is severe heartworm positive and has begun treatment. He has been neutered and is current on his vaccinations.

Bruce is a happy little guy! He is housebroken, gets along well with other dogs, but is also very content just hanging out with a bone or toy to chew on. He loves attention, but would prefer to lay at your feet than sit next to you on the couch. Although, he does like to cuddle on the big bed at night. He has had his heartworm treatment and is almost through with the confinement period. He will be ready to go make one lucky family very happy!

ADOPTED

Bruno
Bruno is a fawn male who came to us from a local shelter. He is a young guy, we believe he is between 1 to 2 years old. He has a severe injury to his left eye which will require surgical removal.

Right now he is on medical hold but we will be updating his profile once he is stabilized and moved from our vet's hospital into a foster home.

ADOPTED

Bryan
Bryan is a fawn male. He is about 2 or 3 years old. He was found wandering the streets with no tags or microchip. He is severe heartworm positive and will begin treatment shortly to clear them. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

From Bryan's foster: Bryan is a young beautiful boy! He must not have been treated very nicely in his former life because he was extremely timid when we first brought him to our home. Despite his fear, he was very sweet and loved to be held. He's come a long way already and is trusting us more and more each day. He has a lot of personality - he loves playing with toys! We often find him pulling out toys from his toy box, growling and playing with them. He loves being in a crate - if you can't find Bryan, he's usually curled up in his crate surrounded by all of his toys (he's a bit of a toy hoarder!). He's not housebroken yet, but he is improving. He gets along very well with our other dogs. Bryan will be going through heartworm treatment within the next couple of weeks and then will be ready for a new home! Bryan needs a home with someone who is willing to be slow with him and love him like he so deserves. He is a precious boy!

ADOPTED

Bubbles
This little girl (13 lbs) was apparently quite neglected: she was not socialized with either dogs or people. She had to learn EVERYTHING, especially respecting boundaries (canine & human). She was also guilty of resource guarding, treats, food and toys. With consistent rules and strong pack leadership she has transformed in just a few weeks from a wild child; to a calm, friendly snuggle-bug. She is completely housebroken (to OUR house: she may need some correction to generalize where it's OK to potty and where not), she sits patiently for treats and food, takes gently when hand-fed, and loves to be held, and comes when called (she knows her name). She follows you around the house wherever you go, and she is so quiet we had to put a bell on her collar to avoid tripping over the little thing.

With her health improving she should be ready for spaying and heartworm treatment soon. She is great with people (including strangers), and is getting much better with other dogs: she has several successful trips to the dog park under her belt. Just in the last couple days she has begun snuggling with my alpha bitch when no human is available. A little love-sponge, she still doesn't know what play is. Give her time though, once healthy she may very well be the perfect pug! This is one worth waiting for. And she is SO cute...

ADOPTED

Bud
Bud is a adorable black male who was found wandering the streets without tags or a microchip. A Good Samaritan took him in but was unable to keep him so we were contacted to find him a home. We estimate he is only about 1 year old. He is in good health. He has been brought up to date on his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered.

Bud is a little sweetheart who is going to make someone a wonderful pet. He is housebroken and well mannered. He gets along well with other dogs too. This guy just needs someone who will look after him and spoil him rotten.

ADOPTED

Buddha
Buddha is a sweet fawn male. He came to us from a local shelter. We estimate he is about 8 years old. He is heartworm negative and has been neutered. He is current on his vaccinations and microchipped. He is also housetrained and goes to the back door when he needs outside.

From Buddha's Foster: Buddha has fit in perfectly around here. He is my shadow when I am home, can always be found at my feet. We have been walking in the neighborhood each evening and Buddha rather enjoys this. We have done up to a mile depending on the temperature outside and he does quite well. I think he would do well as part of a group or an only pet. He will play if played with but rarely initiates the playing. You know I think that anyone who can put up with my dog is a saint! He is a very calm gentleman that loves to be close to his human. He also seems to enjoy laying out on the deck "sunning" for brief periods.

ADOPTED

Buddy
Meet Buddy. Buddy is named after the human who lived among elves in the movie 'Elf'. Our 'Buddy' lives among Pugs but is actually a Pug/Boston Terrier mix. He is all Pug at heart though, and that is what really counts. Buddy is a young male, about 10 months old. He is as playful as his age suggests - he loves to run, play tug of war, or chew on a bone or toy. He's also extremely sweet and loveable. When he slows down, he loves to do it curled up on your lap or next to you. It's hard not to fall in love with this little guy instantly - he has that sweet puggy look in his eyes that will melt any heart.

He has lived the last 6 months of his life in a crate so he is currently in the process of being housebroken, but he is learning well from his fellow pug roomates. He gets along well with other dogs, but he is very playful, so would do best in a home who has a playful dog as well. He has no known health issues. He's neutered, microchipped and up to date on shots. If you are in search of a young, sweet, playful companion - Buddy is your guy!

ADOPTED

Bug
My name is Bugs - like the bunny, not the insect! I'm a 5 1/2 year old black male. I have been neutered and am up to date on all my shots. I've had an injury in the past to one of my eyes so I've got a little vision loss in one eye but other than that I'm in good shape. I had a faintly positive heartworm test, but they tell me that with monthly Heartguard I should 'convert' to heartworm negative in a few months. (Apparently that's one test they want you to fail!)

I'm what they call an owner surrender - which means my family couldn't keep me or my brother Maximus anymore. But since they kept us outside & it's starting to get to that hot time of year, I think that's a good thing. I know my name and can answer to it when called. I'm also what they call 'crate trained' though I'd rather run around free! I've decided I like living in houses and would like a family that would keep me inside all the time. I'm even willing to share that home with another dog - or even a cat!

Everyone tells me how cute I am. I know it's true and I make a point of letting people have a chance to pet me and tell me just how sweet I am. I also like to play with other dogs, though I don't understand all of the neat games they play since nobody's ever played them with me. Maybe someone could teach me and then I'd reward them with puggy-luv!

Bugsy
Bugsy is a fawn male. He is 3 years old. He is in good health except for having some hot spots on his fur from living outside. He is heartworm negative. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations. He is a beautiul boy just waiting for his forever home!

ADOPTED

Bunny
Bunny is an adorable fawn female. She was a stray that somebody found on the street. When nobody claimed her we were contacted to find her a new home. We estimate she is about 4 years old. She has been spayed, microchipped and brought current on her vaccinations. Thankfully she is heartworm negative and is now on preventative.

We have named her Bunny for 2 reasons: firstly we picked her up on Easter weekend and secondly she hops like a bunny when she runs! Really, she does! Poor little Bunny has some old hip injuries that cause her 'hopping' movements when she runs. She moves her back legs together, rather than in sequence. It looks like she might have been hit by a car and never received any treatment, which allowed her hips to heal out of correct alignment. It is too late to correct it now, but it doesn't seem to cause her any pain or give her any problems. In fact, this little girl seems VERY happy. She loves people and being held and loves to be the center of attention. This is one little lady that loves life.

ADOPTED

Buscemi
Buscemi is a 3 1/2 year-old male fawn. He is current on all of his vaccinations and has been microchipped. He is an owner surrender due to family changes.

He is in excellent health and has recently been neutered. He is not presently housebroken but is quickly learning what a doggie door is and how to use it.

Buscemi is a bit shy when meeting new people and animals at first, but once he warms up to you he is quite friendly and playful. He does very well with children and other dogs.

Buscemi will make an excellent addition to a lucky family out there. He's just waiting to hear from them now!

Buster
Buster is a 7 year old male fawn. He has been neutered and microchipped. He is up to date on his vaccinations and is heartworm negative. He is good health except for being a bit on the 'fluffy' side - nothing a bit of a diet won't fix!

Buster is an owner surrender due to family changes. He is housebroken and gets on well with other pugs. He loves to go for walks. He also has quite a bit of a playful side and does not act his age. In between play periods, he loves to sit on a lap and have a nap. He's a very good snuggler and will make somebody a very loving lap dog.

Butch
Butch is a gorgeous young fawn male. We estimate he is between 1 1/2 and 2 years old. He was found wandering the streets and when nobody came for him we were contacted to find him a home. This little guy seems to have been out on his own for a while as he has an ugly (but non-contagious) yeast infection on his skin. He is receiving medicated baths and will recovery quickly. He is in otherwise excellent health. He has been brought up to date on his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered.

Butch is a very excited, happy guy. He loves to play and is a very social pug. He gets on very well with other dogs and would do well in a multi-pet household.

ADOPTED

Buzz
Buzz is a very sweet fawn male. We estimate he is between 2 to 3 years old. He has been brought current on his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. He seems healthy but definitely needs to gain some weight as he is pretty skinny right now.

Buzz is a very gentle boy who has obviously been someone's pet at some time. He knows some commands like 'sit'. As he was not neutered when we found him, he has a habit of marking his territory. However, he is now neutered and his foster Mom is working on the housebreaking. He's a smart boy so we think he'll figure it out. He gets along well with other dogs but is rather timid - definitely not an Alpha dog. He would do well as an only pet or with a calm companion. Though he plays with others, he much prefers to sit next to you on a sofa.

ADOPTED

Caesar
Caesar is a female male. He is 2 years old. He is a small boy - he only weighs 12 lbs. He is being neutered and brought current on his vaccinations. He is heartworm negative.

Caleb
Caleb is a cute black male. He was found wandering the streets without a tag or microchip and nobody came looking for him. So, now we are going to find him the perfect home. He is a young guy - somewhere between 1 to 1 1/2 years old. He has been brought up to date on his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. He does have an old injury to his right eye which does not appear to bother him. Unfortunately, because he was left to fend for himself on the streets, he was not on any heartworm preventative and is now heartworm positive. He has begun treatment.

Now that Caleb has been with us for a little while, he has really come out of his shell! He is VERY much a puppy, full of life and energy. He is extremely curious and playful. Since he's obviously not been someone's pet for a while (if ever) he is still learning how to be an indoor doggie and is still working on house training. But since he's so young and eager we don't think that will take long for him to figure out. He seems to already have the treat thing mastered!

ADOPTED

Carlie
Carlie is a sweet fawn female. She was found wandering the streets by a Good Samaritan who called us to find her a home. She is approximately 1 to 1 1/2 years old. She has been brought current on her vaccinations and microchipped. She appears to be in good health except for her skin. She seems to be suffering from a flea allergy which has left her looking a bit scruffy right now. However, she is on antibiotics and flea medication which will get her looking good as new in no time.

Carlie is a very sweet, friendly girl who loves people. She also gets on very well with other dogs.

ADOPTED

Carly
Carly is a 3 year old fawn female. She was an owner surrender. She is heartworm positive and will begin treatment immediately. She has one missing eye that is not a new injury. She has not been spayed but will be shortly. She has been brought current on her vaccinations and microchipped.

ADOPTED

Caroline
Caroline is a 3 year old black female. She came to us from a local animal control office, so not much is known about her past life. She did have puppies recently but she will be spayed prior to placement. She has been brought up to date on her vaccinations and microchipped. She appears to be a very healthy girl with no known medical issues.

Since she came to us from a shelter we don't know anything about prior living arrangements, but we do know that she gets on very well with other dogs. She is a sweet, happy girl who loves attention.

ADOPTED

Carrie
Carrie is a fawn female. She comes to us from a local shelter. We believe she is about 4 years old. She is in good health. She has been spayed, microchipped and brought current on her vaccinations.

Do not let that little patch of gray on her face fool you into thinking this is some shy, retiring little old lady! This girl is full of beans! She's a small girl - about 15 lbs - but she plays hard! She gets on very well with other dogs.

ADOPTED

Casey
Casey is a beautiful fawn female. She is 8 years old, though she certainly doesn't look or act like it. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her rabies vaccination.

Casey is an owner surrender. Her former owner reported she had some medical issues several years ago, but she has been examined by our vet and has been found to be in good health, though she does have a slight limp to her right front leg due to an old injury. She is on no medications and requires no special treatment. However, she does have poor teeth and will require some extractions.

Casey was formerly kept outside. She is currently in foster with several other dogs and is re-learning how to be part of a family. She is housebroken though she has not figured out the doggie door yet. She sleeps in bed with her foster parents and their dogs and has integrated well. She is obviously not used to being cuddled, but is learning fast! She would thrive in an environment where she can receive plenty of attention. She also loves water and would do well in a home with a pool.

Champ
Meet Champ. Just look at that face! He is an adorable fawn male. He came to us with some skin issues that left his coat looking pretty sad. However, he has been getting medicated baths and his coat is now growing back in and as you can see he is looking quite handsome!

Champ came to us from a local animal shelter. He is current on his vaccinations and microchipped. He had tested moderately heartworm positive but has completed his treatment and is now clear. He is 2 years old, though everyone thinks he is a puppy because he is so active and playful. It's so nice to see that even though he has obviously had a pretty rough time of it, he still is a happy, friendly fellow who loves people.

ADOPTED

Charles
Charles is an adorable black male. He comes to us from a local shelter. We believe he is between 8 to 10 years old. He is suffering from some itchy skin right now due to a case of sarcoptic mange. That is being treated and he should be clear soon. He is in otherwise good health and is heartworm negative. He has been brought current on his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered.

From Charles' foster: Charles (aka Charlie) is a sweet sweet boy! He is generally a very calm pug, but he has his playful moments. While Charlie has lost some vision, this does not slow him down one bit. He leads the way when we go on walks, he flies up and down the stairs, and he has no trouble finding a treat when it "drops" on the floor! Charlie prefers to sleep on his own bed and is completely house trained. He is a very smart boy and is also learning how to cuddle...although he does need some more practice!

ADOPTED

Charlie
Charlie is a cute fawn male pug mix. We're not sure what he's mixed with but we figure since he's even part pug he's a keeper. He came to us from a local shelter where nobody claimed him and he was going to be put down soon. We couldn't let that happen so we took him in to find him a home. He appears to be about 1 year old. It doesn't look like anybody has been taking care of him because he has tested heartworm positive. We have started him on treatment. He has been brought up to date on vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. He is in otherwise excellent health.

Charlie is all puppy. He is full of energy and loves to play. He hasn't met a toy he didn't like and he has all the energy you would expect of a young guy. He gets along beautifully with other dogs as well as children. He is house and kennel trained. When he is not playing he loves to snuggle on the couch or in the bed.

Charlotte
Charlotte is a small Pug Mix and we estimate her age to be around 5 years. She was rescued from a shelter in the Houston area.

Charlotte is current on all her shots including Rabies and Bordetella. She is also spayed and heart-worm negative.

Very much an energetic Dog but Charlotte is very gentle and cuddly too. She shows all the signs of being very well housebroken and the use of a doggy door is something that she is very comfortable with.

Charlotte shows no problems with living with other dogs and loves to play chase me and ball games.

Chase
Chase is a young fawn male. He is about 1 1/2 years old. He was an owner surrender due to his youthful exuberance. As anyone who has had a puppy knows, they require a lot of time and energy. Unfortunately, Chase's former family underestimated how much energy he would need. Therefore, poor little Chase ended up being crated most of the time. As that is no way for a pug to live, his owners contacted us to find him a new family.

Chase has been brought up to date on his vaccinations and microchipped. He will be neutered prior to placement. He is in excellent health.

Chase is a very playful, energetic puppy. He would do well in a home with children (as he has lived with kids before) and/or other dogs. All this little guy wants to do is run around and play. Who can blame him? Life outside a crate is pretty cool! He still has quite a bit of puppy left in him and will need some more training but he is nearly housebroken and learning the new house rules quickly.

Chelly
Chelly is a beautiful fawn female pug. She was found wandering the streets and was taken in by a good Samaritan who placed ads looking for her owner. After no response, we were contacted to take her in and find her a suitable home.

Chelly is estimated to be about 1 1/2 years old with quite a bit of puppy still in her. She is very active and playful. She very much enjoys toys and rawhides! She is housebroken and gets on well with other dogs. She has just discovered what a cat is though she doesn't seem to understand what they are for!

Chelly is now microchipped and up to date on her vaccinations. She will be spayed within a few days. She has no known medical issues. She loves to run and play, but she also is a very good snuggler. She enjoys sleeping in a human bed so she can snuggle during the night.

Chelly is well behaved and learning to go for walks on a lead. She will make a fantastic companion for some lucky pug lover.

Chi Chi
Chi Chi is a fawn female who is a little over a year old. She is current on all of her vaccinations and has been spayed. She is negative for heartworms and is on preventative.

Chi Chi is a very active, playful young lady who gets on well with other dogs. She is housebroken, though she has had a history of 'marking' when she has not received enough attention. Of course she still has a lot of puppy in her and needs some training. She also could use some stability, as she has been moved around quite a bit in her young life.

China
China is a sweet fawn female. She is 10 years old. She was an owner surrender through no fault of her own. Though her eyesight is severely limited, she does appear to see shapes and light.

China has come a long way in the year we've had her. Now an 11 year old beauty - she enjoys her days taking naps, strolls around the yard in the sun, and more naps. Even though she has very little vision & hearing - it doesn't stop her from enjoying a sunny day or a good belly rub. She knows her way around the house and yard, and she will certainly let you know when she wants something! She's the Queen of our Pug Palace! Thanks to PugHearts, China is getting loved like she's always deserved to be!

ADOPTED

Chloe
Chloe is a fawn female. She is about 5 years old. She comes to us from a local shelter. She is heartworm positive. She has not been spayed but will be prior to adoption. She is current on vaccinations and has been microchipped.

From Chloe's foster: Chloe is really something else. She has definitely not been treated as a Pug should be treated. The day she came home she was shaking so bad that it broke my heart. I tried to hold her and talk to her to let her know that she wouldn't be hurt but that didn't work, she just shook harder. She has started coming around now and will let me hold her for a few minutes before she gets so scared. But the best part is that she's starting to jump on me to play while we're sitting on the couch. She will soon not remember whatever it was that happened to her previously and will be a happy girl forever more.

Chloe has a different look. She's really quite small (13 pounds) but it appears that her nutrition has not been the best and her legs are bowed out. She also has a tongue that is always hanging out (dental hygiene wasn't the best either). If you put all these little quirks together you have an awesomely cute Pug! She is really has a beautiful face and the tongue hanging out just adds another cuteness factor.

She will need to have someone teach her how to behave in the house. I just love to watch one come in that has never seen a TV before. Chloe sat on the couch for the longest time cocking her head from side to side trying to figure out what it was. She is definitely not housebroken so that is priority #1! With a little time and a lot of patience she will be a wonderful companion for someone.

Christine
Christine is a 4 year old fawn female. She was found abandoned on a local highway with no tags or microchip. Thankfully she is heartworm negative and appears to be in good health. She has been spayed, microchipped and brought current on her vaccinations. She's a sweet girl who has adjusted well at her foster home. She plays very well with other dogs and is not an "Alpha" female. She would do well in a multi-pug household.

ADOPTED

Chuck
Chuck is a 5 year old black male. He was found in the middle of a road and turned into us. He has been brought current on his vaccinations and microchipped. He has been neutered.

From Chuck's Foster Mom: This boy is so special. He's very loving and super attentive. He's learned to sit and stay. He's also learned to talk! He's not a cuddler by snuggly standards, but he does need to sit next to me. Sometimes he stretches out to put his chin on my lap, or a paw across my legs. He's definitely housebroken. He is a bed sleeper. He has to get under the covers and curl up next to me. He's really a momma's boy. He probably was weened too early, as he's prone to suckle. He also has a bit of abandonment issues. If we're gone for longer than a few hours he starts tearing up toys. I think he would do best with another dog. He doesn't seem to care about chasing the cats around here, or even squirrels.

ADOPTED

Claribel
Claribel is a black female. She is 4 years old. She is in good health and is heartworm negative. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations.

From Claribel's foster: Claribel is one sweet girl. She has not had any problems becoming a loved pet, I think she knows the puppy machine days are behind her. She is in really good health, her only issue is dry eye and it isn't really that bad she needs to have drops put in her eyes every day and she's good to go. Her skin had issues with the fleas so she has some scabs in her fur but when the spay stitches are removed and she can have a bath they will be gone. Her coat looks like satin, it's very pretty!

Claribel's one goal in life is to be held and loved. A diet is in her future so she is a lap full right now but when she trims down she'll be a normal sized pug. She loves to have her belly rubbed, she goes to the door with all the others to go outside but before she goes she rolls over to have a belly rub first! She will be laying on my lap and all of a sudden she will turn her head and jump up to give me a really quick lick on the face and then lay right back down like she hasn't moved, she seems to be showing affection. She really is something. Her house habits are exceptional, she's been with me for awhile and hasn't done anything rude yet.

Claribel is an absolute love and would make anyone a great additon to the family. I think if she had the choice she would choose to be in a home where she is the center of attention, but she does get on well with other pugs so a furry brother/sister would also be fine.

Clifford
Clifford is a handsome fawn male. We estimate he is about 4 years old.

Clifford was found wandering the streets without a collar or microchip. A Good Samaritan tried to find his owners, but nobody came forward to claim him so we were called to find him a new home. He has now been microchipped and brought up to date on his vaccinations. He has been neutered and is in excellent health.

Clifford is a very social, friendly pug. He is very laid back and easygoing and seems to get along with everyone. He's also a very good cuddler who loves to be held and petted. He thoroughly enjoys sleeping in a human bed at night and will make some lucky person a very good personal heater this winter! He is also very well behaved and is housebroken. He is going to make someone a fantastic companion. This beautiful boy is just waiting for his new family to find him and never let him go.

PLEASE NOTE: Clifford and Bridget are a bonded pair and as such will only be adopted out together.

ADOPTED

Coal
Coal is a 7 year old black male. He is an owner surrender with his bonded "sister" Lilly.

ADOPTED

Cody
Cody is a 1 1/2 - 2 year old male who has been neutered and is up to date on his shots. He was found wandering the streets before a Good Samaritan found him and alerted us.

He is such a sweet and gentle soul and loves to snuggle in your arms and lap. He also can be quite playful, but prefers to cuddle. He will follow you around to see what you're up to - his foster mom refers to him as her 'shadow.'

We had believed at first that Cody was in good health except for being a bit too thin and having an entropion (inward 'rolling') left lower eyelid. During his pre-op examination at the Vet, it was discovered that Cody is suffering from a liver shunt. This explains why he is so tiny and was not gaining weight. Unfortunately, this is a very serious condition. Untreated it is fatal. At present he has been started on medication. While this will not cure him, it will make his quality of life better. The only way to correct his liver shunt is through surgery. The first of several surgeries would cost approximately $3000. Due to the large amount of money needed, we will not be holding a 'ChipIn' for the surgeries. However, we would gratefully accept any donations to cover the cost of Cody's ongoing medications.

Due to Cody's ongoing medical needs, he is now considered a 'Special Needs' adoption. Adoption will only be considered for somebody who has the ability to give Cody the treatment he needs.

GREAT NEWS! Cody has responded well enough to his liver medications that he was able to undergo corrective surgery for his eyelid! Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible. Because of you, Cody will no longer need daily ointment and have the constant irritation to his eye.

Cole
Cole is a sweet black male. He is 2 years old. Cole originally came from a breeder's facility but has been staying with a Good Samaritan who decided we could take the best care of him. It doesn't look like he has had a very good life so far. He is pretty skinny for a pug and has an injured eye. We don't know yet the extent of his eye injury but we have started him on medications to soothe the irritation and help him feel better. He is severely heartworm positive and was also suffering from intestinal worms and a flea infestation. Now that he has been cleared of the intestinal worms and fleas, he will begin his heartworm treatment.

Cole is a very sweet boy who seems to understand that we want to help him. He is already feeling 100 times better and that is evident by his big goofy grin! Why, he's even allowing his foster Mom to dress him up with a scarf - so obviously he's a pretty easy-going fella.

Colt is a fawn male. He has been neutered and microchipped and is current on his vaccinations. He is heartworm negative.

From Colt's foster: Colt is about 3 or 4 years old, but acts like a puppy. He is potty trained, but does try to mark sometimes. He takes well to training and gets along with other dogs. He was found wondering in a park, with nothing but skin and bones. Once he chooses his person he will follow them to the ends of the earth. He does well with children and is very socialable. He is in need of an owner that loves to play and have fun!

Cookie is a fawn female pug mix that comes to us from a local shelter. We estimate she is between 2 to 3 years old. She is heartworm negative. She is current on vaccinations, microchipped and spayed. She appears to be in very good health.

Cookie is a cuddler - she loves nothing more than snuggling up to a human for love and attention. She gets on very well with other dogs and would do well in a multi-dog household. She is currently in a foster home with a cat and doesn't seem too impressed by it so she would be a candidate for a home with a cat also. She absolutely LOVES children and does well playing with little ones.

He is a timid boy but seems to be coming out of his shell now that he feels more comfortable.

Carlo is a very handsome fawn pug with a face that could win anyone over. He is approximately one year old and was found wandering the streets. Carlo is sweet, obedient and loves to give kisses. The two like to chase each other around the house, go to dog parks, and savor the taste of a good piece of rawhide.

Cupid
Cupid is a beautiful fawn female. She is a 9 year old owner surrender through no fault of her own. She is in excellent health (except for maybe needing to shed a pound or two.) She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations.

Cupid comes to us with her son Junior. As they have always been together, we will not separate them and they must be adopted out together. Cupid is housebroken and a very behaved little lady. She is very sweet and has a laid back temperment. She's happy mothering her son and relaxing on a human lap.

ADOPTED

D
D is a fawn male. We believe he is 2 or 3 years old. He was found wandering the streets with no tags or microchip. We don't think anyone's been looking after him because he is heartworm positive. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

From D's Foster: This is one fun-loving little dog. "D" (who we currently call Cap as in Cap(ital) D) is an easy-going dog who looks for fun in life. He loves to surround himself with toys from squeaky toys to rawhide chews to bones. Then he will prance upwith one in his mouth to get us to chase him. He really likes soft squeaky toys. He gets along with the 3 other dogs in our household, and has learned the feeding routine. He is a beautiful tawny color, the color of a lion; and he is a thinner, leggier pug - not so low to the ground. He loves meeting folks and when he meets people out in the street he goes up to them and sits as close to them as possible and receives his pats. He is gentle and charms everyone he meets. "D" loves going on walks, and walks fairly well on the leash. He appears potty trained and he uses the doggie door at our home but he really prefers going for walks for potty. He likes to sit in my lap, and also likes to cuddle close in the bed if he doesn't have to compete with other dogs on the bed. In that case he will sleep on a corner of the bed. He has a sweet face and I will often find him watching me. This is one nice little dog. He is currently undergoing heartworm treatment and will be ready for adoption in a month.

ADOPTED

Daisy
Daisy is sweet fawn female. We estimate she is between 3 to 4 years old. This poor little girl was abandoned by her owners – when they moved out of their house they just left her behind in the backyard! We cannot understand why anyone would do that to this sweetheart. She deserves so much better.

Daisy has been spayed and is in good health. She does have a 'small' left eye – the eye does not work. However, it doesn’t cause her any problems and she does not even need drops or ointment for it. Daisy has been brought up to date on her vaccinations and has been microchipped.

Daisy’s foster Mom describes her as 'shy and loving.' She gets on well with other dogs and has been housebroken. She will make a great pet. This little girl needs a loving home that will promise to love her forever and never leave her behind!

Dallas
Dallas is a 4 year old fawn male. He was an owner surrender. He has been brought up to date on his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. He is heartworm negative. He is one big fella who is now on a diet!

Dallas is a very active and social pug. He enjoys playing around with other dogs and would do well in a multi-pug household. Though he is housebroken he is still learning not to mark. As he is just recently neutered this is not surprising. His training is coming along very well though. He is a sweet boy but he is a bundle of energy - no couch potato here!

ADOPTED

Dani
Dani is a 5 year old fawn female mix who came to us from a local shelter. Dani is moderately heartworm positive and is beginning treatment. She has been brought current on her vaccinations, microchipped and spayed.

From Dani's Foster: Dani is a wonderful little pug mix. I truly think she is a pug/dachshund. She has a long low body with short muscular legs but she has a pug face, pug coat, and curly tail. She has the most beautiful brown eyes. And she is Longhorn orange (Sorry Aggies!). Her coat is soft and she loves to sit in your lap to get some good scratching. She joined my family of 3 dogs very easily, and her potty-training moved along smoothly, so I can say she appears to be housebroken.

She is a very mild-mannered dog but she does know how to play. She walks well on the leash. She is friendly with everyone I have introduced her to. People can't resist picking her up and hugging her. She is a wonderful companion dog.

Dave is an adorable fawn male. He is between 1 1/2 years to 2 year old. He was found wandering the streets by a Good Samaritan who contacted us to find him a home. This little cutie is a sweet boy who loves people and attention. He is very well behaved. He gets on well with other dogs and even cats! In fact, he seems to get along with everyone. Dave is going to make some lucky person one fabulous companion.

Davidson
Davidson is a 2 year old fawn male. He was an owner surrender with his littermate Harley. They are very bonded and need to stay together. He is in good health and is heartworm negative. He is up to date on his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered.

Davidson is the more calm of the Harley-Davidson combo. But he does still love to play and chew rawhides. He gets on well with other dogs. He is housebroken.

ADOPTED

Deanna
DeAnna is a gorgeous fawn female. She is an owner surrender who is 7 years old. She is current on all vaccinations and microchipped. She will be spayed prior to placement. She is in excellent health.

DeAnna is a friendly, loving girl who is very well behaved. She gets along beautifully with other dogs and would do well in a multi-dog environment. She also absolutely loves kids and would be very happy in a home with children to play with! She is housebroken and leash trained. Right now DeAnna is a little bit on the pudgy side, so she could stand to lose a pound or two. But otherwise she is ready for her new home and new adventures.

ADOPTED

Dee Dee
Dee Dee is a 6 year old black female. She is heartworm negative. She is current on her vaccinations, microchipped and spayed.

From Dee's foster: Dee is a sweet girl that wants nothing more than to be a cuddle buddy.

She is a gentle soul that loves to be with her human every moment she has the opportunity. She likes to wrestle (gently) with her chew toys and foster roommate, but knows when it's time to settle down. If she had her choice she would lounge around most of the day, but never passes the opportunity for a nice day in the yard. She sleeps well through the night and prefers to snuggle under the blankets with her human. She does exceptionally well with children, cats, and other dogs. She is a charming little lady that would suit any family well, especially one that wants to shower her with affection, because she sure deserves it.

ADOPTED

Delta
Delta is a 4 year old fawn female. She was an owner surrender. She is current on her vaccinations, microchipped and spayed. She is heartworm negative.

Delta is a tiny 4-year old pug (only 11 lbs) who is a bundle of energy. She loves to play with stuffed toys, and will often go to sleep with her mouth firmly holding onto a part of a toy. She also enjoys rawhide chews and bones. Delta loves to jump up in one's lap and go to sleep; she sleeps soundly, and has a really big snore for such a little dog. She loves to go on walks.

She has been living in her foster home as one of 5 dogs. She has changed and improved a lot. Initially she was aggressive, particularly around feeding time, but she seems to have settled in as part of the pack now. She does well going on walks with them, and will cuddle up when all are sleeping around the living room. Delta has picked up on the sit command, and she is improving on leash walking. She feels comfortable in her "pack" and gets on well with her foster siblings, but does not like meeting strange dogs. With continued socialization we hope to see that improve.

She is a sweet little dog who is focused on her humans. She is all pug in her interest in food but she is also a little underweight. Kept on a schedule Delta is improving in potty training but she definitely needs to go more often. She would do best in a home where she would be let out often or have a doggie door. She is an early riser. She is sweet, and wants love and attention.

Diego
Diego is an adorable fawn male. He is 4 years old and an owner surrender. Diego had been adopted from a local shelter several months ago, but his new home didn't work out so now he is with us. Poor little Diego has had a pretty rough time of it. He has just finished heartworm treatment and will have a re-check to make sure he is heartworm negative in a couple of months. Meanwhile, he also came to us with tapeworms and whipworms which have been treated and he is now clear. He had also come to us suffering from pneumonia. That has been treated and cleared but he still has a slight chronic cough. He has an injury to his jaw that is healing nicely and should be completely healed within the next couple of weeks.

Diego is a sweetheart of a boy who is a bit shy when first meeting people. Once he feels he can trust you he is quite a cuddler! He also does very well with other dogs and children. This little guy has been through a lot and is ready for his new life with a family who will love him and never let him go.

Digger
Meet Digger. Digger is a 2 year old fawn male. This little guy was picked up by animal control. When his owner failed to claim him, we were called to find him a new home. This cutie is in great health, with just a small ulcer to one of his eyes which is currently being treated and should present no further problems. He is heartworm negative and has been started on preventative. He has been neutered, microchipped and brought up to date on his vaccinations.

Digger seems to get on well with other dogs and certainly loves people - though he hates being crated (who can blame him?) He is a sweet boy with personality plus and such an expressive face. How can you resist him?

Dill is a Pug/Brussels Griffon mix male. Basically, he is a fuzzy Pug! He is about 1 year old. He is heartworm negative and in good health. He has been neutered, microchipped and brought up to date on his vaccinations.

Dill is a player and a cuddler. He loves to explore new places and people. He would do best in an active home with lots of people to play with him.

Dixie
Dixie is a sweet fawn female. She was an owner surrender. She is 5 years old. She is current on her vaccinations, microchipped and spayed. She is heartworm negative. Dixie came to us with a swollen belly. Our vet discovered that she had an enlarged kidney. She has had surgery to remove the non-functioning kidney and is now recovering well. She is now in excellent health with no lingering effects from her misfortune. She requires no medications or further treatments.

Update from Dixie's foster Mom: Dixie is an awesome pug, we really enjoy having her in the house. We have nicknamed her "Skillz" with a 'z'. She is amazingly crafty (in a good way) Whenever we throw a toy, even though we have 3 pugs in the house to chase after it, Skillz always retrieves it. She positions herself appropriately to get a head start and is crafty about pouncing on it, dodging the others and crafty. She loves to fetch toys. She gets along with the pack well, loves to snuggle close to me at night and follows me all over the house. When I am getting ready in the morning for work, she perches on my vanity stool to hang out and observe. She uses the doggy door well and is housebroken! She has gained a little weight, but we still have far to go.

ADOPTED

Dolly
Dolly is a 5 year old fawn female. This sweet girl is an owner surrender through no fault of her own. Her momma has had to go into assisted living and that means Dolly must find a new momma. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on all of her vaccinations. She has a slight ear infection right now but that is being treated. She is in otherwise good health, though it appears that she hasn't been taken care of quite as well as she should have. A little TLC will take care of that though.

Dolly is a very good girl. Right now she is a bit reserved - probably since she's unsure of what is going on. But she is quite curious and not afraid to check new things out. She is housebroken and though she was an only dog, she does get along beautifully with other dogs. She would do well as either an only dog or as part of a group. All Dolly really needs is someone who wants to love on her and make sure she gets the attention and TLC she deserves.

Doug
This is Doug the Pug. He is a 2 year old fawn male. He was an owner surrender. He is in good health; he is heartworm negative, neutered and current on his vaccinations. He is happy and VERY active! He is working on his house manners and will need some reinforcement. He is ready for his new home and new life!

ADOPTED

Dougie
Dougie is a sweet little fawn puppy who is estimated to be about 5 months old. He was found wandering the streets and taken to a local animal shelter. He has been brought up to date on all of his vaccinations, microchipped and will be neutered before placement.

Right now Dougie is suffering from a severe case of demodectic mange. Dougie is on antibiotics and is receiving medicated baths to help clear his skin. He has tested negative for worms and, thankfully, heartworms. He is now on heartworm preventative.

Now that Dougie is feeling better, we can see the puppy in him coming out to play! He is a sweet little character who is full of mischief and playfulness - just as a puppy should be. Of course he isn't housetrained and he doesn't follow commands too well, but that is to be expected given his age. Dougie needs someone who will treat him just like any other puppy - because underneath he IS like any other puppy. He needs a lot of love, caring and patience so he can grow to be your best friend.

Dudley
Dudley is a fawn male. He is 5 years old. He was an owner surrender through no fault of his own. He is heartworm negative. He is current on his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered.

Dudley came to us with an injury to his tail which required partial amputation. However, that has healed beautifully and he is now ready for adoption. He is a sweet boy who loves soft toys. Playing fetch and tug of war are his favorites. He walks wel on a lead and is housetrained. He gets on well with other dogs but isn't much for playing with them. He prefers to have love and attention of a human for a companion.

ADOPTED

Duncan
Duncan is a fawn male. He was found without any tags or microchip wandering with another dog. We believe he is about 4 years old. He is suffering from a bad case of demodectic mange for which he is undergoing treatment. He is heartworm negative. He has been brought current on vaccinations and microchipped. He has been neutered.

From Duncan's foster: Duncan is a fun little guy with a big heart! He has quite a bit of energy but at the same time, settles down quickly when its cuddle time on the couch (he is a great cuddler). He came to us 100% potty-trained and knowing how to sit for food and treats. He is happiest with a nylabone in his mouth playing keep-away from the other dogs. He attached himself pretty quickly to one of my pugs and they are now inseparable. He would probably do best in a multiple dog home. He doesn't bark much, but when he does you find yourself asking "When did we get a Labrador?" Once his mange clears up, we know he will be a very beautiful puggie. In fact, we think he already is. How could you resist that face?

ADOPTED

Dustin
Dustin is a handsome fawn male. He is 3 years old. He was an owner surrender through no fault of his own. He is in excellent health. He has been brought current on vaccinations, microchipped and neutered.

Dustin is a sweet boy who hasn't received all the care and TLC he should have. Since he was an only dog and hasn't been socialized much, he is a bit anxious about being around other dogs and people. Though he is adapting well and seems to be coming out of his shell. Also since he has just been neutered, he is still a bit 'amorous' with the ladies but that should settle down soon. He would do well in a home as an only dog or with one or two siblings. He also really responds well to men, so a male owner or co-owner would be preferred. Of course all of this could change now that he is in foster care and is being exposed to new situations. We will update his profile as we discover how he responds to his new life.

Earl
Earl is a black male. He is about 1 year old. He comes to us from a local animal control as he was picked up in an animal cruelty investigation. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

From his foster: Earl is a very sweet, gentle little pug. He was a cruelty case and so he isn't as outgoing as most pugs but he has improved drastically from the shaking ball of black fur I picked up from the vet. However, he is the most loving little guy; he will take all the hugs and kisses he can get. As cute as he is in his pictures, he's even more cute in person. He looks at me with such intelligence in his eyes that I really wish he could tell me what he's thinking. I know we could have some really good conversations. He does like to play but he's not over the top. Earl seems to know that he's going to be in a good place from now on and he's doing very well in all areas. He seems to be housetrained and he doesn't bark or lick. He's very fond of jumping in bed at night and settling down for the night, that didn't take him long to learn at all. He has to go through the HW treatment but if you will wait until he's healthy you'll be a very lucky human to have him. Like the saying goes, Good things come to those who wait.

ADOPTED

Eli
Eli is a sweet fawn male pup. He is just 12 months old. Poor little Eli has had a rough start to life. He came to us from a local animal shelter where he had been found wandering the streets. He appears to have been hit by a car as he has a fracture to his left leg and his jaw has been broken in 2 places. It appears that his jaw is healing and he has no difficulty eating or playing. Our vet is evaluating the leg injury to see if surgical repair is needed. He is currently suffering from a skin condition which will resolve with medicated baths. His fur will grow back in no time. Eli is heartworm negative and is current on his vaccinations. He has been neutered.

Despite all that Eli has been through, he still is a happy, loving, playful boy. He is housebroken and eager to please. He will follow you everywhere and just wants to be loved.

ADOPTED

Ellie
Ellie is a black female. She was an owner surrender through no fault of her own. Though she is only 1 year old, she was surrendered to us just after giving birth to a litter of puppies. She was surrendered without her pups. She will be spayed prior to placement. She is in good health and is heartworm negative. She has been microchipped and is current on her vaccinations.

ADOPTED

Ellie 2
Ellie is a fawn female. She comes to us from a local animal control facility. We believe she is about 3 years old. She appears to be in good health. She is heartworm negative. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations.

From Ellie's foster: Ellie is a very sweet, gentle little girl, and a fine example of what a beautiful Pug looks like! She gets along well with her new furry family as well as her human family. She is one of the first pugs I have ever taken care of that doesn't have a big appetite. She just nibbles at her food and makes it last quite a while. She has eye medicine that needs to be put in her eyes twice a day and she is beginning to become use to this. It takes them a while to learn that you aren't going to hurt them when you are taking care of their eyes.

When she first arrived it took her a day or so to get use to the large number of other dogs, she was quite intimidated by the enthusiam they displayed at meeting her and she growled at them occassionally. She has gotten over that hurdle now and is quite comfortable. She is very partial to me, she loves to be close to me at all times. She doesn't play very much, she just wants to have human contact. She will be a great companion for someone that wants a beautiful cuddle bunny. She will do well as an only pet or with a brother or sister.

ADOPTED

Emily And Louie
This is Emily and Louie, a bonded pair that will only be considered for adoption together as they would be lost without each other.

Emily is a sweet 3 year old fawn female and Louie is a 4 year old fawn male. Both came to us through our joint adoption program with Homeward Bound Rescue of OK. They have both been microchipped and are current on vaccinations. She has been spayed and he has been neutered. They are housebroken and very well behaved. These two are described by their foster mom as 'sweet babies with lots of love.' They are very friendly pugs who get on well with everyone - dogs, cats and humans. Emily is a lover who would love nothing better than being cuddled 24/7. While Louie is also affectionate, he is a bit more active and playful. They are crate trained but thoroughly enjoy sleeping in a human bed.

They are both in good health and no special needs other than a loving home.

ADOPTED

Eppie
Eppie is a beautiful 4 year old black female. She is an owner surrender. Eppie has been spayed, microchipped and is current on all of her vaccinations. She is heartworm negative.

Eric
Eric is a fawn male. He was found wandering the streets with no tags or microchip. We believe he is about 7 or 8 months old. He is heartworm negative and has been neutered. He is a very skinny little guy who is suffering from hookworms. He is being treated and they should be clear soon. He is doing very well in his foster home and has started to put on some weight. He is working on his house training and doing very well learning to live indoors. He gets on well with children.

ADOPTED

Faith
Faith is a sweet fawn female, approximately 1 1/2 years old. She came to us from a local shelter, so we do not know anything about her past. However, it looks like it was pretty sad. She has had to have her left eye removed as it was in such bad condition. She has been spayed. She is current on all of her vaccinations and has been microchipped. She is housebroken and would do well in a home with a doggy door.

Faith is really in need of some human affection and loves to be doted upon. She is a sweet little girl who gets along very well with children. She enjoys going for walks and playing with kiddies. She is a wonderful girl who would do very well in a home with children.

ADOPTED

Feliz
Feliz is a fawn female. She is 2 years old and was found wandering the streets with no microchip or tags. A good Samaritan found her and contacted us. They named her Feliz which means Happy in Spanish, and it really fits her! She is sweet and very playful.

ADOPTED

Finn
Finn is a fawn male who comes to us from a local animal shelter. We estimate he is 2 to 3 years old. Right now he has some itchy skin but he is being treated for that. He also has a pretty bad ear infection which is being treated. He is heartworm negative and has been neutered. He is up to date on his vaccinations and microchipped.

ADOPTED

Flip
Flip is a black male. We estimate he is about 2 years old. He is heartworm negative. He is current on his vaccinations and has been microchipped. This poor little guy was found on the streets after being hit by a car. He was suffering from a fractured pelvis and 3 broken ribs. We are very happy to report that he has now made a full recovery and is back to being a healthy, happy, mischievious puggy! We have discovered this boy likes to dig holes under fences, so he would do best in a home where he gets his exercise while being walked on a lead. He's a beautiful boy who has been given a new lease on life and he's anxious to live it!

ADOPTED

Fozzy
Fozzy is an adorable young fawn male. He appears to be a pug mix, though we aren't sure with what! He was found wandering the streets, so not much is known about him. He has been checked by our vet and has no health issues. He has been neutered, microchipped and brought up to date on all of his vaccinations. He is negative for heartworms and has been started on a preventative.

We are estimating he is around 1 year old, which means he still has quite a lot of puppy in him. As such, he is very active. He gets along very well with other dogs, though nobody appears to have taught him how to play with toys. As he is so young and has obviously had no training, he does not know any commands.

He is not presently housebroken, but he seems to be a quick learner so that should not be an issue. His foster parents are in the process of training him and with the guidance of his foster siblings we believe he'll catch on quickly. He also rides well in a car. His foster parents report that he is very sweet and loves affection. Fozzy is ready to find his forever home with someone who is ready for the challenges and rewards that come with a young fellow like himself.

Fozzy Bear
Fozzy Bear is a healthy, fawn, neutered male who is about 17 months old. He is heartworn negative and is current on all of his vaccinations. He is an owner surrender, and we believe by appearance and behavior to have been part of a puppy mill. He shows signs that he has had limited and or negative human contact, though has never shown any aggressive tendencies. He has not lived inside a home before now and is learning basic training and behaviors. We are currently working on housebreaking and the sit command. He is progressing slowly and will need a calm and patient family to help him along. New sounds can startle him but his young age and curious nature helps him overcome those fears quickly. When Fozzy first meets a new person, he is shy and a bit jumpy. But quickly opens up becoming loving and affectionate towards people and other dogs. He gets along with kids, but is cautious around very active ones and may need a calm lap to lie in.

ADOPTED

Franki
Franki is a fawn female. She is 7 years old and is an owner surrender. She is heartworm negative. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations. She is blind but is in good health overall.

From Franki's foster: She is blind, but does not realize this is not normal. Franki seems to "see" with her ears and feet. She does not run into things and is a very active girl. She loves to cuddle and be with her people, at home and out on the town. Franki has some skin allergies and will need to be kept flea free and on quality food. We are told she has a history of seizures, but we have seen to signs of this being an active problem. Franki is a special needs pug. However, she needs more love and cuddling than she does intensive medical care.

ADOPTED

Frankie
Frankie is a 2 year old black male. He is an owner surrender through no fault of his own. Frankie has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations. He in in excellent health.

Frankie is a very happy, energetic young guy. He still has a bit of puppy in him and loves to play. He is housetrained and knows some basic commands.

She is in excellent health. She is housebroken and well behaved.

ADOPTED

Franklin
Franklin is an adorable black male. He came to us from a local shelter so we don't know his story. But we do know he hasn't been cared for in quite some time. We estimate he is around 10 years old. He has already been neutered. He is current on his vaccinations and heartworm negative. He does have one missing eye and needs drops in his remaining one, so his vision is somewhat impaired. He does have a couple of mast cell tumors that are simply being monitored for changes as our Vet does not feel they need to be removed.

Franklin has obviously been somebody's pet at one time. He LOVES being around humans and other dogs - he probably would not do well as an only pet. He is a very sweet little guy who just wants to have a human to love. His favorite thing is to curl up on a lap and snuggle. He is a true lap dog.

ADOPTED

Franklin 2
Franklin is a black male. He is 5 years old. He is an owner surrender through no fault of his own. He is heartworm negative and in good health except for being a bit "fluffy." He is now on a diet to help him cope with the Texas heat. We will let you know how he's doing with his battle of the bulge.

Freddy
Freddy is a 4 month old fawn puppy. He was an owner surrender to a local shelter due to medical issues. He is currently in isolation at our vet's office for possible ringworm. He will not be ready for adoption until he is old enough to neuter, so at least another month. At that time he will need to trained at EVERYTHING, so this will not be a task for the faint-hearted. Puppies are cute and fun but an awful lot of work. We want to make sure Freddy finds a family who will not give up on him.

From Freddy's Foster: Freddy is a rambunctious Pug puppy, he is playful and sweet. He enjoys chewing on rope toys and rawhides. He walks really well on a leash for being such a young pup. He does not mind sleeping with the other dogs. He is surprisingly gentle with my young children, no problems with jumping or biting. He likes to follow the big dogs around and try to get them to play with him. He loves being held or curling up in a warm lap to sleep. He is everything that you would expect from a puppy, puppy breath and all!

ADOPTED

Fritz
Fritz is a fawn male. Though this poor little guy is only around 2 years old, it's obvious that he has had a very rough life so far. He was found lying on the side of the road. He has a possible broken pelvis. He also has bullet fragments in his leg. As if that's not bad enough he is suffering from a severe case of demodectic mange which has left his skin infected from his constant scratching. He is also suffering from hookworms and whipworms which are so bad that he is anemic. He has ulcers on both of his eyes. And just to add insult to injury, he is severe heartworm positive. He has a very long road to recovery and we plan to do our very best to get him as healthy as possible.

It comes as no surprise given that people have obviously not treated him very well in his life that he is timid around people. However, he has a really sweet disposition. We will be posting updates on him throughout his recovery.

ADOPTED

Gabby
Gabby is a fawn girl we estimate to be 7 years old. She was found wandering the streets by a family who took her in but could not keep her. Though it broke their hearts, they decided she needed more care than they could give and contacted a shelter who put them in touch with us.

Due to her appearance when she was found, she had been dubbed 'Grubby.' We felt she needed a more positive name and have begun calling her 'Gabby.'

Poor little Gabby was in obvious discomfort and was taken to our Vet for a check-up. It turns out she had 3 large kidney stones which together were about the size of a tennis ball. She was immediately admitted to the Veterinarian's clinic for emergency surgery.

We are happy to report that Gabby has come through the surgery with flying colors! She is recovering well and has gained 2 pounds since her operation. As anyone who saw her at the PugNic can attest, she is now a bundle of energy. We are thrilled to report that her prognosis is excellent!

The surgery has cost PugHearts of Houston around $800 not including aftercare. Unfortunately we still need your help on this one. We simply do not have the funds available at this time to pay for this treatment. The family who found Gabby expressed concern that if we were aware of her need for treatment we would not have accepted her. PugHearts accepts any Pug - regardless of condition. We are asking for your help to allow us to continue to keep this promise.

Due to the urgent nature, the surgery was performed immediately rather than waiting for funds. Thankfully our vet has graciously agreed to work with us as we raise funds to cover the costs.

Gene
Gene is a fawn male. He is 2 years old. He is heartworm negative. He has been neutered, microchipped and brought current on his vaccinations. He is in good health. Gene is a happy, high energy guy. He loves to play chase and if nobody will chase him he will chase his own tail!

From Gene's foster: Gene is a bundle of energy! He enjoys running around outside, playing fetch with the ball, and being chased around by the other dogs. He gets along well with everyone here, and would do fine in a household with an Alpha dog since he is more of a follower than a leader! Gene has no problem being vocal, and telling you when he wants something. I'm sure pretty soon he is going to actually say a complete sentence! When he's not playing, Gene wants to be a lap dog, and will curl up just right to fit on your lap. He is definitely a lover not a fighter, with a tongue that is a mile long and wants to kiss you constantly! He uses the doggy door with no problems, and has never had an accident in the house! We are working now on basic commands, and when he's not too excited, he seems to be picking up on them pretty fast. Gene is a wonderful dog, always wanting to please, and will make an outstanding pet for someone wanting an energetic dog!!!!!

ADOPTED

George
George is a handsome fawn male who is approximately 1 year old. He was an owner surrender which is a good thing since he was kept outside! He is in good health and has no known medical problems. He has been brought up to date on his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered.

George is a sweet little guy but is a bit timid. He is going to need a family that will have the love and patience to teach him all he needs to know. He will need to be housebroken as well as taught cool things like sitting for treats. Given his age, it should not be too difficult to teach him new tricks.

ADOPTED

Gidget
Gidget is a beautiful black female. She was found on the streets and turned into animal control. She is approximately 2 years old.

Gidget has been spayed, microchipped and is current on all of her vaccinations. She is healthy with no known medical issues. She is a very fun loving, playful girl who also enjoys a good snuggle. She is currently paper trained and is being taught to go outside when needed.

She gets along very well with other dogs and does not seem to mind cats. She also enjoys walking a human. She is a sweetie who will make someone a very loving pet.

Gigi
Gigi is an adorable little fawn girl. She came to us from a local shelter so nothing is known about her past life. We estimate she is between 6 to 8 years old. She has been brought current on her vaccinations and microchipped. She will be spayed prior to placement. She appears to have an old injury to her left hip but that does not stop her from walking around just fine. She also seems to have a bit of a skin infection right now (non-contagious) but that will clear quickly with the medicated baths she is getting.

Gigi is a sweetheart of a girl who absolutely loves people. She is a petite little thing who loves to follow you around. She is currently in foster with other dogs and gets on well with the group.

ADOPTED

Gladys
Gladys is a black female. She is 9 years old. She has been spayed, microchipped and brought current on her vaccinations.

From Gladys' foster: Gladys is sure a sweet girl. She had been left outside so she is trying heal up from scabs on her skin and what looks like bug bites on her ears. But she has been treated and seems to be healing up just fine. She is an extremely well behaved lady. Gladys was very well fed in her past life so she definitely needs to shed a few pounds. She is house broken and I have yet to hear her bark. She isn't big on playing but likes to be in the couch potatao group and just hang out and be petted. She wants to be held but doesn't quite understand how it works yet, she'll stand on my lap but when I try to have her lay down she's not sure what to do. I think with just a little more attention she will turn into quite a cuddle bug! She is a very loving girl who hasn't received much of it in the past. She just needs someone to take her into their hearts and give her the loving home that she has deserved for years and never had!

ADOPTED

Gracie
Gracie is a 1 year old fawn female. She was an owner surrender and it's a good thing too since they were keeping her outside! She seems to be in very good health. She has been brought up to date on her vaccinations and microchipped. She will be spayed prior to placement. She is a bit overweight and will benefit from a healthier diet.

Since Gracie has never lived indoors, she is in need of a bit of training. Her foster mom has been working with her and she is mostly house trained. Due to her past life she has not been well socialized but she did live with a brother, so she would do well in a home with one other dog. Or she would do very well as an only dog. However, she doesn't seem to likes cats much. What she does like is being with humans and being held. This is one little girl who loves to be cuddled.

ADOPTED

Gracie 2
Gracie is a fawn female. She is 3 years old and comes to us from an animal control shelter. She has been brought up to date on her vaccinations, microchipped and spayed.

She had also been suffering from multiple bladder stones which were surgically removed. This should not cause any further problems and the stones can be prevented by a special low Magnesium dog food which is available at any pet store. She is now in excellent health and ready for a new home. She's a very sweet girl who gets on well with other dogs. All she needs now is a special someone to promise to look after her and give her lots of love.

Gracie 3
Gracie is a black female. She is an owner surrender. She is 2 to 3 years old. She is currently suffering from allergies which is making her skin itchy but is in otherwise good health. She is heartworm negative and current on her vaccinations. She has been spayed and microchipped.

From Gracie's foster: Gracie 3 is a 2 year old black female who was surrendered to us by a vet's office. She has been unlucky in finding a forever home due to recurrent allergies/hot spots (She was surrendered once to the vet's office, and was returned once to us.) She needs to be maintained flea-free, and is currently on a food trial to isolate potential food allergies.

Her skin is healing nicely, and she is an extremely happy, outgoing, athletic little girl. She gets along well with cats and is housebroken, although reluctant to go outside unaccompanied. She loves to play with humans, toys, and other dogs, but is also quite a snuggle-bug. Check out her video on the Pughearts Facebook site: "Pug-Jitsu", and you will see how well she plays. She is submissive to our alpha dog, who delights in washing her face and ears. She loves to play dress-up and gets very excited when she sees you pick up one of her t-shirts. She is very smart, prone to mischief (as are all adolescents), and provides great entertainment and company. She would do better in a home with both two-legged and four-legged playmates.

ADOPTED

Gracie 4
From Gracie's foster: Gracie is a very beautiful, energetic pug. She loves to play but she also loves to cuddle. She came from a life of living in the back yard so it took her awhile to learn what was going on when she first arrived, but true to a pug's love of comfort she adapted quite quickly! If I'm on the couch you can bet that Gracie is there right beside me. Over the last several weeks she has started laying on my lap, when she first arrived she would just stand there without knowing what to do. She does have a marking problem that we are working on and she is making great progress.

When she gets excited she whines and almost wiggles out of her skin!

She is a great companion and will do well with a family or in a home that shows her loads of attention. She gets along well with all her pug siblings and also does well with larger dogs. Gracie is a great little lady and is looking for a loving home.

ADOPTED

Greta
Greta is a black female. She comes to us from a local shelter. We believe she is about 5 years old. She is moderately heartworm postive and will begin treatment shortly. She was suffering from pyometra but has been treated and seems to be feeling better. She is a little overweight and will begin a diet immediately.

From Greta's foster Mom: She is fitting in well with our pack. She's relatively low-key but will not take bullying from our Alpha. She is one of those Velcro dogs - always at your side. She is housebroken (asks to go out) and very even tempered. She knows her name and basic commands. She jumps on & off the couch with no problems and uses a stepstool for the bed. She sleeps in between the pillows and doesn't hog the bed at night. In spite of her "piggy-puggy" nature, she understands waiting for her turn at the communal feeding bowl. Once she gets over her health problems, she'll be the perfect companion!

ADOPTED

Gretchen
Gretchen is a 3 year old fawn female. She is an owner surrender due to the fact that she does not get along with cats. She has been spayed and is current on her vaccinations. She is heartworm negative. She is in excellent health.

ADOPTED

Grover
This is Grover, a 9-week old pug mix puppy. Unfortunately Grover no longer has his momma and had been taken to a shelter. We believe he is a 'Puggle.' Puggles are one of the new 'designer dogs' where breeders purposely mix two breeds - in this case a Pug and a Beagle.

Grover is a cute little fawn male with the typical black mask of a pug. Since Pugs and Beagles are both small breeds we don't expect that Grover will grow to be a very big guy. Grover is in good health and has had his first 2 sets of vaccinations and worming treatments.

Obviously, since he is a puppy, he is not housebroken or crate trained. He also does not respond to any commands or understand right and wrong yet. He needs a home that is ready for a full-time puppy and everything that this entails. This means constant attention, not being left alone for 8 hours a day, training and cleaning up after. In return for all your hard work you will have a lifelong friend who thinks the world revolves around you. We are looking for an adoptive family who is prepared to and can give all of the above.

Gucci
Gucci is a fawn male. He is approximately 1 year old. He is in good health and is heartworm negative. He has been neutered, microchipped and brought current on his vaccinations.

ADOPTED

Gumbo
Gumbo is a fawn male. He was found wandering alone with no ID or microchip. A Good Samaritan found him and contacted us.

He is a sweet boy who gets along very well with other dogs. He is a happy little guy who has a great temperment.

ADOPTED

Guyla
Guyla is a gorgeous fawn female. She is 3 years old. She is heartworm negative and in excellent health. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations. She is a bit timid at first, but playful and funny when she learns to trust.

From Guyla's foster: Guyla is an absolutely adorable puppy. Although she's full-grown, she's half the size and twice the energy of any other pug we've had in our home. She wants nothing more than to run, chase, wrestle, and explore. She's also quite vocal, with a louder bark than you'd expect out of such a little

bit! She's a terror to cats, and is always trying to get the rest of our pack to play. She instinctively defers to our Alpha bitch, but anyone else is fair game. She's always ready with lots of kisses, and if no one wants to play, there's always her tail to chase. She's content to snuggle when she's worn out, which takes a lot! This one needs training, discipline and impulse control, but she's already bonding well with the human members of her pack. She's smart and learning rapidly. If you have the patience, this one will bring you endless joy, laughter and entertainment.

ADOPTED

Hamlet And Romeo
Meet Hamlet and Romeo, two brothers who will steal your heart!

These boys are owner surrenders through no fault of their own. They are housebroken, well behaved and get on well with other dogs. They also are good with children, having come from a home with small kids.

Having spent their whole lives together, these two are very attached to each other. We are hoping to find a special family for these guys so that we can keep them together

Hannah is a fawn female. We believe she is between 3 to 4 years old. She was found wandering the streets, so we do not know her history but we do know that nobody has been taking care of her. She is moderately heartworm positive and will begin treatment shortly. She is very timid right now but she is learning to trust us. We will post updates soon.

Harley 2
Harley is a black female. She is 3 years old. She comes to us as an owner surrender through no fault of her own. She is heartworm negative. However, she is currently suffering from a case of whipworms which we are treating. She has not been spayed but will be prior to placement. She has been microchipped and is current on her vaccinations.

ADOPTED

Harley 3
Harley is a 2 year old fawn male. He is an owner surrender with his brother Davidson. They are extremely bonded and need to stay together. He is heartworm negative and in good health, though he could stand to gain a little weight. He is up to date on his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered.

Harley is a very happy, active guy. He is playful and loves chew bones. He gets on well in a multi-dog household. He is housebroken.

ADOPTED

Harlie
Harlie is an adorable 4 month old fawn female. She was an owner surrender due to her medical condition. Poor little Harlie is suffering from hydrocephalus, commonly known as "water on the brain." She has a build up of cerebrospinal fluid around her brain. This means she has to be monitored for changes in her condition. At this point we are not planning to do any invasive treatment since she seems to be coping really well. Her balance is a little off at times but otherwise she acts like any other puppy. She loves to play and run and jump. She is a sweetie who loves playing but also loves to cuddle. She is doing very well in housetraining.

Special Notes

Harlie suffers from hydrocephalus and will need special monitoring

ADOPTED

Harry
Harry is a handsome fawn male. He is an owner surrender due to allergies. He is estimated to be between 3 to 4 years old. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

Harry is a cutie who has had some bad luck with finding a forever home. His original owner had placed him with someone else when he was found to have an allergic reaction to something in their household. Unfortunately, the adoptive family could not keep him and so we were contacted to find him a forever home. Harry had no allergic reaction during his stay in a house with hardwood floors, so it may be attributed to a carpet allergy. At present, he is doing fine and having no outbreaks.

Harry is a bit of a couch potato. He loves nothing better than to lay on the sofa and get belly rubbins! He is a very well behaved boy who comes when called and stays pretty quiet. He gets on well with other dogs and is housebroken. He's a sweet little fella who could really use someone to adopt him who can commit to giving him the forever home he deserves.

Harvey
Harvey is a 3 year old fawn male. He has been brought up to date on his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. He is severe heartworm positive and has begun treatment.

Harvey is a sweetheart of a boy who just LOVES to cuddle and be on a lap. He is good around other dogs and cats but could also be an only dog. He is very good around children. We don't think Harvey is used to being indoors as he was not housebroken when we got him, but he is learning fast. He also has learned to love sleeping in a human bed at night. Harvey is also a very vocal dog - likes to "talk" and have the last word! This little guy just needs someone with time to devote to him to let him know he is part of a family.

ADOPTED

Haus
Haus is a fawn male. He is 8 years old. He is an owner surrender. He is in excellent health. He is heartworm negative. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

From Haus' foster: I really like this dog. He is extremely intelligent, and he is a communicator. He will come up behind me in the morning and croon to get attention. He has bright, intelligent eyes and he listens closely to everything I say just so he doesn't miss something. I keep asking if Haus is really 8 years old because he looks and acts like a much younger dog. He is physically fit and has practically no gray in the face. AND he has beautiful house manners.

Haus currently lives with 3 other dogs. He does all right with them but I have noticed he is treat and toy aggressive. I think he would probably be happier as an only dog with active adults. He loves going on walks and likes to sit near us in the evening happily chewing on a rawhide or bone.

I have been making sure he receives lots of loving touches because initially I observed that he would cringe when I went to pet him. He responds very well to voice corrections. He knows sit, and is working on "leave it" and "take it," as well as, taking treats with a gentler mouth. This is a fine dog. Don't be fooled by his age. Haus is a fun companion.

ADOPTED

Hazel
Hazel is a fawn female. She is 7 years old. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations.

From her foster: Hazel is generally a quiet dog who very much enjoys sitting in my lap. She has wide-set sad looking eyes. She doesn't appear to be a dog who was taken out on walks a lot. She was somewhat confused the first few times we went. Now she is happy to go on walks which have been few because of the heat. She is not aggressive, and takes her cues from other dogs. She particularly follows my Dudley around outside and potties where he does. She is beautifully potty-trained, and she has become accustomed to the dog door. She does like to communicate with her paws, and sometimes will make a low howl or crooning sound. She is exactly what pugs were bred to be, a companion dog. She isn't too playful at this time but she does get into occasional play-fighting with my other foster pug, and gets the better of him. She understands the pecking order, and waits her turn to get her food. A simple verbal correction is all she needs to change behavior. Since Hazel is "odd pug out" because the other pugs are males, I allow her to sleep on the bed at night. She settles into one spot and that is it for the night. She is smaller as pugs go so she doesn't take up a lot of space. I like to say she is my new BFF. She stays near me when I am home. She enjoys the occasional rawhide chew but I haven't seen her show interest in toys yet. Just a nice little puggie who wants to be with you.

Heather
Heather is a fawn female. She is a 6 year old owner surrender. As you can see, she is a little "fluffy" so we have her on a diet. She is in good health; she is heartworm negative and already spayed. She is current on her vaccinations and just had a dental cleaning. She is on some ear medications and we will see how that progresses.

ADOPTED

Hector
Hector is a beautiful black male. He comes to us from a local shelter. He is young (look at those pearly teeth), fit, and the shelter says he's heartworm negative. He was picked up from the street where he was apparently hit by a car, without tags or a microchip. His right front leg is lame, and there is possibly some bruising affecting his rear right as well. He's otherwise in good condition: great plush coat with a fawn undercoat, and he is sweet as can be! Lots of cuddles and kisses. He rode well in the car, and was very friendly with dogs and humans. He apparently has not been on the street long.

ADOPTED

Heidi 2
Heidi is a fawn female who is about 4 years old. She is heartworm positive and is presently undergoing treatment. She has been brought current on her vaccinations, microchipped and spayed.

From Heidi's foster: Heidi is a very sweet little girl. She is a very small Pug (12 pounds)and has a very pretty and soft coat. She is also a talker, she doesn't bark but she kind of howls. Cindy named her Heidi because she sounds like she's yodeling. She is also housetrained. She loves to be around her human at all times. When she was confined to a crate after her HW treatment if I went into another room she was very vocal with her distress but only until I returned to the room and she could see me. She very seldom makes a sound when she's with someone. I don't believe that she was held much in her prior life, she loves to be beside me and is just beginning to be more comfortable sitting on my lap. She loves to lay back on my arm and have her belly rubbed. She also really listens to me when I talk to her as you can see by the picture. She will cock her head back and forth and look like she's going to answer me. She is a great little girl and anyone will be very lucky to have her in their home forever!

ADOPTED

Helen
Helen is a fawn female. She is about 4 years old. She is an owner surrender through no fault of her own. She appears to have been used for breeding in the past, but those days are now behind her. She has been spayed, microchipped and brought current on her vaccinations. She is heartworm negative. She has also had a hernia repair during her spay. She is in good health except for being a bit "fluffy" and having diminished vision in her left eye. She is receiving drops for that.

Helen is a sweet girl who seems to have missed out on her childhood. She's making up for lost time now that she's a lady of leisure. She is enjoying discovering what toys are all about and she loves to play with other dogs. She's also very loving toward people. In fact, if you stand long enough in one spot she will quietly lay down at your feet. If you sit long enough she will hop up to sit in your lap for a cuddle. And since her fur is so soft and fluffy, it's hard to resist her!

Henry
Henry is a 5 year old fawn male. He has been neutered and is up to date on all of his vaccinations. He is heartworm negative and in excellent health.

Henry is an owner surrender due to family changes. He is a very well mannered pug. He is housebroken and very sociable, he plays very well with other dogs. He is not a couch potato!

He also is a very loving boy who loves to give puggie kisses and cuddle. And just look at that face!

Henry needs another chance at being a treasured pet. He's a good boy who needs a stable environment in which we know he will flourish.

Hercules 2
Hercules is a fawn male. He is an owner surrender. He is 4 years old and in good health. He is neutered, microchipped and current on his vaccinations.

From Hercules' foster: Hercules has been wonderful...he loves all of our other doggies (large and small, male & female.) he also does not bother with the cat. He is great with kids including our infant. He is a bed hog and wants to be in a lap at all times. He will follow you where ever you lead him, including in the water! He loves baths, showers, and the pool. He still has ALOT of puppy in him and will play all day. He loves stuffed animals and chewy bones. He also thinks he is a guard dog and will bark at any unknown sound. He is a very vocal dog and can't sleep without a snore! He has integrated himself into our home very well. He was shy at first but has really come out of his shell. He is housebroken and has no problem letting you know when he needs to go out.

ADOPTED

Hildi
Hildi is a cute fawn female who was transferred here from Homeward Bound Pugs in OK. We estimate she is between 3 to 5 years old and has had a tough life. She was kept outside with a large dog and lost her eye at an early age. Her remaining eye is completely healthy. She has been spayed, microchipped and brought up to date on her vaccinations. She had some mammory tumors removed this summer but has no recurrance.

Hildi has come a long way from the skittish little girl we first met. She has learned to play and particularly enjoys toys with a noise box in them. Speaking of noise, her foster mom reports she is now very vocal and sounds like 'Chewy from the Star Wars movies.' She also enjoys going for walks and does very well on a lead. She is housebroken and will go to the door when she needs to go out. She will also bark to let you know she needs back inside or if she needs help getting off of furniture. She's a very clever girl!

Hildi gets along beautifully with other dogs - both large and small. She even gets along very well with cats. She also enjoys interacting with children. But more than that loves to chill out on the sofa and snuggle in bed.

Hobbes
Hobbes is a fawn male. He was an owner surrender. He is in excellent health. He is heartworm negative. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

ADOPTED

Holly
Holly is a beautiful fawn female. We estimate she is between 2 to 3 years old. She was found scared, wandering alone on a busy highway when a Good Samaritan brought her home out of the traffic. She had no collar and was not microchipped, so we were contacted to find her a new home. She has been checked out by our vet and is in excellent health. She has been spayed, microchipped and brought up to date on all of her vaccinations.

Holly is a very loving dog and just loves to cuddle. She loves being a part of the family and all of the great things that go along with that like belly rubs, toys, T.V. and a nice soft bed. She is housetrained and gets along very well with other dogs and cats. When it is time to go visit friends or to the pet store she sits very still in her pet sling so that everyone can tell her how beautiful she is. She is looking for a family that does not have a busy schedule and is ready to welcome a sweet companion into the family.

ADOPTED

Holly 2
Holly is a fawn female. She is 6 years old and an owner surrender. She is heartworm negative. She has been spayed and is current on her vaccinations. She appears to be in good health except for 'dry eye' which will require daily eyedrops. She did come to us with itchy skin that appears to be from allergies as it has cleared with medication. She also came to us a bit overweight (as you can see from her earlier photos) but we have had her on a diet and she is now down to around 20 lbs and looking very healthy.

Holly is housetrained and would much rather be inside in air conditioning than running around outside (smart girl!) She gets along well with other dogs but her favorite thing is to receive human attention and affection. In fact, her foster Mom reports that 'if you just look at her, she falls over, with her legs stretched out, waiting for her belly rub!!!' Her favorite thing to do is cuddle up next to someone.

Hope
Hope is a sweet fawn female. She was dumped on the streets and left to fend for herself. A good Samaritan contacted us to pick her up. We are estimating that she is about 4 years old.

Unfortunately Hope has had a rough time and was not in the best of shape when she came to us. She was highly positive for heartworms and extremely malnourished. She has just completed her last round of heartworm treatment and has gained a bit of weight. She has been brought up to date on her shots and microchipped. She will be spayed prior to placement.

Hope is a sweetheart of a girl who is a true testament to the pug spirit. Despite her past medical problems, she is a lively girl who would love nothing better than to romp and play. Now that she is healthy enough to do just that, we want to find her the perfect home to do it in.

ADOPTED

Hunter
Hunter is a fawn male. He comes to us from a local shelter. We believe he is about 4 years old. He is heartworm positive and will begin treatment shortly. He has been neutered, microchipped and brought current on his vaccinations.

From his foster: Hunter seemed very scared to be touched when we first received him, he would not eat for the first few meals and when we final got him to eat he had to be sat with until he was done. Now Hunter enjoys being petted and brushed,he has graduated to eating on his own and he will even bark at the other dogs if they try to come to his bowl. Hunter is a very sweet and loving dog. He loves to give and receive kisses. He is very excitable, full of energy and loves to play with our other Pugs. He likes to be the center of attention and petting. If there is love to be given he would love to be the recipient. Hunter loves people!! Hunter will do good in a forever home with or without kids. Hunter loves to play so would most likely do better in a home with a fur friend to play with. Hunter just need to be loved and taken care of,as it seems he did not receive much of this before he was rescued. We are still working on potty-training, Hunter is doing great he has learned to use the potty pads now we are working on going outside. Just 5 minutes with Hunter and he will steal your heart!!

Ike
Ike is a 5 year old fawn male. He was found in the aftermath of the hurricane, having weathered the storm by himself in a park. He was understandably very frightened when we first picked him up but he has relaxed quite a bit and seems happy. He is a quiet boy though. He does not really play and prefers to sit with her person and watch the world go by. He is in excellent health, he has just completed heartworm treatment and is now heartworm negative. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

Indy
Hello my name is Indy (short for Indiana Jones)! I was named because of the adventure I went on before coming to PugHearts. I am about 1 ½ years old and was covered w/ Sarcoptic Mange and almost starved to death before I was rescued by PugHearts. I am no longer contagious, but still a little itchy :) My foster mom is helping me to gain weight and hair right now. I love to play with my toys and my foster brothers, but my favorite thing to do is cuddle up next to you on the couch. Would you consider giving me a home?

ADOPTED

Iris
Iris is a recent transfer from Homeward Bound Pugs in OK.

Iris is a feisty and very busy little girl. She came from a puppy mill and is seven years old. Iris has never been part of a family and she is making up for lost time.

We took in four mill girls and Iris is the oldest and the most outgoing. She doesn?t miss a thing and is waiting for that special family to become a part of.

If you are looking for an older girl to love, Iris is up for the challenge. Just look at that happy face...how can you resist?

Isabel
Isabel is a beautiful fawn female who is 5 ½ years old. She is an owner surrender due to family changes (i.e. - through no fault of her own). She is in good health. She has been brought up to date on her vaccinations, microchipped and spayed.

Isabel is a sweet girl who is a bit shy and a little confused about her new situation. However, she is very well behaved and even tempered. She is housebroken. We are also told she gets along great with kids and even loves to swim! This little girl would be an ideal pet for a family who wants a companion for their children but does not want to have to deal with the training and rambunctiousness of a puppy.

ADOPTED

Izzy 2
Izzy is a 7 month old black "Bug" (Boston/Pug mix.) She was an owner surrender due to family issues. She is in good health and is heartworm negative. She is current on her vaccinations, microchipped and has been spayed.

From Izzy's Foster: Izzie is incredibly loving and playful. She enjoys playing with other dogs at the dog park and running! She also loves to play fetch and tug-of-war. Izzie is a great dog to take out to social scenes, whether it's the dog park or dog-friendly pub. She is calm around groups of people and enjoys being pet or played with by anyone who's interested. She's quite the focus of attention! When she finally slows down, Izzie loves to snuggle and enjoys cuddling up to you on the couch or in bed. She loves to give kisses and checks on you periodically if you wander too far out of her sight. She's a great dog for anyone who's active and likes to take their dog with them everywhere!

ADOPTED

Jack Sparrow
Jack Sparrow is a 10 month old Puggle. He is an owner surrender due to allergies. He has been neutered, microchipped and is up to date on his vaccinations. He is in excellent health except for his right eye. We're not sure what happened, but the right eye does not work and it's actually a bit smaller than his left. That's how he got the name One-Eyed Jack Sparrow. The vet recommends not removing the eye as it isn't causing any problems. Jack has absolutely no problem getting around and given his age it is doubtful that he even realizes he's supposed to have 2 working eyes.

Jack is housebroken and does well with the dogs and cat in his foster home. He is VERY playful. He seems to only want to cuddle when he is tired, otherwise he wants to run and play (which is pretty normal for a puppy.)

ADOPTED

Jackson
Jackson is a handsome fawn male with unique pale green eyes. He is 2 years old. He comes to us from a local shelter where his owner left him. He is moderately heartworm positive and will begin treatment shortly. He has been neutered, microchipped and brought current on his vaccinations.

From Jackson's foster: Jackson may not look like your typical fawn Pug but he sure has the personality, charisma and energy of one! He has the most unusual coloring we have ever seen, it's just beautiful. His mask has an auburn tone to it and along with his green eyes he's quite the handsome gentleman! I love to just sit and look at him. He is also very sweet. He likes to lay on the couch next to me but he also likes to play, he's a good mixture of both. Jackson's a small little guy and is quite huggable, and he is very good at giving Puggie kisses. He's not much of a barker. He has marking issues and we're working on that. Since he's been neutered he seems to be getting better. He gets along with all his other Pug brothers and sisters so would do well in a home with other pets. He would also do well in a home where he gets all the attention (he'll take as much as I can give him.) Where ever he lives he will certainly be a beautiful addition to the family!

ADOPTED

Jacque
Jacque is a gorgeous dark fawn male who is 7 years old. He is an owner surrender due to allergies. He is in good health, current on all vaccinations and has been microchipped. He is heartworm negative. He will be neutered prior to placement.

Jacque is a very well behaved gentleman. He is housebroken and crate trained, but prefers sleeping in a human bed! He gets along beautifully with dogs and cats as well as any human he meets. He enjoys playing with toys indoor and out. He is a very outgoing, social pug who would probably do best in a home with lots of activity - i.e. other animals or a big family.

ADOPTED

Jameson
Jameson is a 2 year old black male. He came to us from a local shelter so not much is known about his past. He came to us with a bad case of sarcoptic mange with has been treated. He is in otherwise good health. He is heartworm negative. He has been brought current on his vaccinations and microchipped. He is not neutered but will be prior to placement.

From his Foster: Jameson is a powerfully sweet young man!!! He has really discovered the benefit of cuddling, if I have a lap full when he wants on my lap he just sits there staring at me. Can you imagine that face just staring at you because he wants to be held? Needless to say I can always make room for one more! His coat has filled in on his body and it is really pretty and shinny. His face is still a little sparse around his eyes and nose but it's almost fully filled in. He's gained quite a bit of weight and no longer looks like a skeleton. He really is quite a clown, he can make me laugh just by the look on his face because I can almost see what he's thinking! He has come quite a long way since he was found. He gets along well with everyone (doggie or human) that he has met and wants to make friends with everyone. He would be fine as an only dog or would enjoy having a playmate (doggie or kiddie). He just needs to have the attention he craves and deserves.

ADOPTED

Jamie
Jamie is a fawn female pug mix. She came to us from a local shelter. She is only about 2 years old. She is heartworm positive and will begin treatment shortly. She will also be spayed prior to placement. She has been microchipped and brought current on her vaccinations.

From Jamie's foster: Jamie is an energetic little girl. Although she may not be pure pug, she is a pug at heart in her fun loving attitude. She loves to play tug-of-war with my great dane and is usually the winner (although I think Grace lets her win to be nice to the wee one). They are good buds and she is great with my cats which lends me to think that she would fit in well with a household of multiple pets. She knows how to sit and is working on the potty training. She is an amazing car rider and sits back and enjoys the scenery. She is also great with kids, she'll roll over on her back to allow them a great expanse of belly to love on. Jamie loves her babies (stuffed animals) and will carry them around the house and collect them in whatever room I am in at the time. She also likes to nurse on them- this is so cute! Jamie is a very sweet girl and would be a great addition to any family looking for a loving addition. Oh, one last thing...in the pictures you may notice she has a cherry eye which will be surgically repaired after her heartworm treatment is complete. And she is much cuter in real life- she is a hard one to get a picture of!

Jason is a seet little guy who is a bit confused about his recent turn of events. However, he is well behaved and amiable. He's a little cutie who is very sweet and cuddly. He gets along beautifully with other dogs and would do well in a multi-dog household or as an only dog. The most important thing to Jason is to have a human that wants to cuddle and snuggle with him, as he loves being held.

Jennie
Jennie is a sweet fawn female who is 6 years old. She is an owner surrender as her owner could no longer care for her. She is in excellent health except for being a tad overweight, which is easily remedied with an appropriate diet. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations.

Jennie is best described as a 'shadow.' She likes to be near humans at all times and MUST sleep touching you all night. She feels a bit lost without a person nearby and would do well with someone who was home all day. She gets on well with other dogs also.

Jennie has figured out the doggie door and uses it just fine, though she has had a couple of accidents in her new house. With time and routine she should adjust fine. She is a pretty girl who needs a bit of attention and TLC since she has lost her human. Once she finds her forever home and feels that stability, she will make someone a fantastic companion.

Jennifer
Jennifer is a 5 month old fawn Pug/Dachshund mix puppy. Though she is not all Pug, she does have the characteristic black mask markings. Many of you will remember her from her fight with distemper along with her brother Joey and mommy Jewel. We are pleased to report that she has made a full recovery. She is in excellent health and does not have any lingering effects from her previous health battles. She is current on all vaccinations and will be spayed prior to placement.

Jennifer is a sweet, playful girl who is your typical puppy. As she is so young she will need training (as all pups do) but she seems to respond well to people and should not have any difficulty transitioning to living in a family home.

ADOPTED

Jenny
Jenny is a fawn female senior. She is 12 years old. She has come to us as her owner has passed away and nobody is left to look after her. She has obviously been well cared. We are thrilled that these guys pulled through and have made a complete recovery from this awful disease. Unfortunately, Jewel is also heartworm positive. She is to begin treatment very soon now that she has recovered from the distemper.

Jewel is a sweet, sweet girl who has given all of her love and devotion to her pups. Now that they are strong enough to go on without her, it is time that she gets the love and attention she needs. She is now in a foster home learning what it is like to be part of a loving family. She is a smart girl who is eager to please. We know that once she is back to good health she will make someone a fantastic companion.

Sadly this is a commonly seen Pug problem, but one that can be fixed surgically.

Joe
Joe is a fawn male. He comes to us from a local shelter. We estimate he is about 4 years old. He wll be neutered and brought current on his vaccinations.

From Joe's foster: Joe is a very handsome young man. We call him "Brooklyn Joe." He marches around the house with his chest out, head up and a bone in his mouth, usually sticking straight out like a cigar. He's macho, but likes to snuggle on the couch with you and get some hugs. He'll rest his head right on your chest and look you right in the eyes. He loves kids but would rather be the only dog in the house. He also loves dinner time, rawhide bones, lying around for hours and sleeping in the bed. He's pretty low maintenence. He's not much into long walks. He would rather be hanging around the house with a good cigar.

He will be neutered prior to placement.

He is extremely playful and curious. This little guy is just like the Energizer Bunny. We don't know where it comes from but he has boundless energy. He is very lively and curious. Obviously since he is still a pup he needs training but he is a fast learner.

They are very sweet together. Joey is in good health and has been neutered.

Jonah is a fawn male. He is a young handsome guy! He's 2 years old and very sweet. He is friendly and very playful. He seems to be very interested in other dogs and seems to be good with children. He has been neutered, brought up to date on shots, and is microchipped. He is heartworm negative.

From Jonah's foster: He is a bundle of energy, and so willing to please. Someone in his past life was not so nice to him and probably hit and kicked him. He is already trusting alot more though, and once he gets some of his exuberance under control with love and direction from his new forever home, he will be a loyal family member for life! He has met a cat and has not yet given up on the idea that one might actually play with him someday, much to the dismay of my 13 year old cat! He has a unique way of drinking water from a bowl, a you tube opportunitiy if you ask me.......absolutely hilarious. So if you have a yard for him to play in, and lots of love and energy to give this sweet boy, his is waiting for your guidance to lead him to his new home!

K.C.
K.C. is a fawn male. He comes to us from a local shelter. We believe he is about 4 years old. K.C. came to us with some medical issues which we have treated, including heartworms.

UPDATE from KC's foster: When KC became my foster several months ago it was with the understanding that I would give him a safe and happy home until he was no longer with us. Well, it seems we neglected to consult KC, because he was ready to give the fight of his life. As sick as he was he fought through everything that was wrong with him and he has come through it all with a wagging tail, perked up ears and bright eyes! He is the greatest joy that I have experienced being a foster. There were several times when he went to the doctor that I thought he wouldn't come home again, but Dr. Hendrix and Cindy wouldn't give up, and neither did KC. KC has undergone aggressive HW treatment, recovered and is now on the road to being HW negative. He does still have a minor cough that is permanent but that is a small price to pay for being so healthy otherwise. He is now strong enough to be neutered and will soon undergo that procedure (though I haven't told him about that yet).

KC is now a normal happy, healthy, playful Pug! I must warn you though that he is just a teensy, weensy bit spoiled. He feels that one side of the bed is his and his alone. He doesn't bark and carry on, he will just sit and make a very soft crying noise until I let him up..hey, it works. He isn't one to get on my lap and be held but he loves to sit beside me and have me pet him. His fur is the softest of any Pug I have ever felt, it's almost as soft as rabbit's fur. He has started playing since he feels better, he likes to play with squeaky toys and the unstuffed animals with the squeakers in them. He is very well behaved in the house. KC is now ready to become your pampered Pug and give you all the love and affection you can handle.

KC is a joy to behold, he is a shining example of why there is a PugHearts!

Kalani
Kalani is a sweet fawn girl who is 5 years old. She is an owner surrender due to allergies. She is in excellent health, current on all vaccinations and has been microchipped. She is heartworm negative and has been spayed.

Kalani is a shy girl but very well behaved. She is housebroken and likes to sleep in a human bed at night. She gets along very well with other animals - dogs as well as cats. And though she is a bit timid at first, she also gets along well with humans. In fact, she seems most comfortable being near someone she knows.

ADOPTED

Kale
Kale is a fawn male. He comes to us from a shelter so we don't know his background or age, but we think he is probably about 4 years old. He is in excellent health. He has been neutered, microchipped and brought current on his vaccinations.

He is a sweet, playful little guy who gets on well with other dogs. He also thoroughly enjoys a belly rubbin! His foster reports that he has turned out to be quite a momma's boy as well.

ADOPTED

Karina
Karina is a fawn female. She is 3 years old. Despite previously living outside she is in good health and is heartworm negative. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations.

From her foster: Karina is the only pug I have ever come into contact with that does not always eat all her food! She never gives anyone a chance to pet her, because the second you try to pet her she rolls on her back so you can scratch her belly. She loves sitting on the couch and cuddling next to you as you scratch her belly or her ears. Karina will do well in a house with other animals or as an only dog. She is such a sweet girl and will make someone very happy in her forever home.

Katy is an adorable black female. She is about 1 year old, so she is still a bit of a puppy. She was an owner surrender through no fault of her own. She is in excellent health. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on all of her vaccinations.

Katy is a very happy, playful girl. She gets on well with other dogs and would be fine in a multi-pug environment. This little girl is all ready for her new family to claim her and allow her to become the spoiled little diva she should be!

Lacey
Lacey is an adorable fawn female who came to us from a local shelter after somebody left her and her "sister" Lisa at their door one night. We do know that she had her right eye removed some time ago. We also know that Lacey and Lisa are extremely bonded pair and need to stay together.

Lacey has tested positive for heartworms and will begin treatment immediately. She has been brought up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and spayed.

From Lacey & Lisa's foster: Lisa & Lacey truly are a bonded pair. They are always together. They are either cuddling together, sleeping together, cleaning each others faces, or playing together. It is so precious to watch the two of them. We aren't 100% sure of their history, but whatever it was must have included some not so nice humans. They are still very cautious of humans and still often cower and run when you reach down to pick them up. They are learning to trust us though. When I sit with them, they both will come up and give me double team pug kisses! Lacey seems to be more social than Lisa, although Lisa has made a lot of progress since we've had them. They are learning what toys are finally! We are still working on the potty training, but they are getting a little better each day. They get along well with other dogs - they don't have the same trust issues with them as they do humans. In fact, I often find them grooming my own dogs - one on each side! Lisa & Lacey would do great in a quiet environment with patient humans who will help them learn that not all humans hurt.

ADOPTED

Lady
Lady is a sweet fawn female. She was found wandering the streets by a Good Samaritan. She had no tags or collars and it was pretty evident that nobody had been taking care of her for quite a while. We estimate she is about 5-6 years old. She does not appear to have been spayed, so that will need to be done prior to placement. She has been brought current on her vaccinations and microchipped. She appears to have 'dry eye' which is so common in pugs which have been living outdoors. She is also currently suffering from a case of demodectic mange (non-contagious) as well as a bad yeast infection on her skin. These will clear with time and treatment.

Lady is an appropriate name for this little girl. She has an air of serenity and elegance about her. Even in her bedraggled state, she appears like a prim and proper little lady who should really be wearing a pearl necklace or a lacy dress. She is a lover - she loves to cuddle and be held. In no time at all Lady will look as beautiful as she should and she will need a home where she will be pampered and loved.

ADOPTED

Layla
Layla is a beautiful black female. She is estimated to be about 2 to 3 years old. She was found wandering the streets and turned into us by a Good Samaritan. She has apparently been on her own for a little while and needs a little TLC. She has tested heartworm postive and is starting treatment. She has been brought up to date on her vaccinations and microchipped. She will be spayed this week.

Layla loves to be the center of attention. She gets on well with other dogs but likes to be 'top dog.' She would do well as the only dog or with a more laid-back companion. She loves human attention and is very talkative.

ADOPTED

Leah
Leah is a cute little fawn female. She is 6 years old. She has been spayed, microchipped and brought up to date on her vaccinations.

She is in good health aside from some vision problems. Leah cannot see out of one of her eyes. The other still has vision but she does have chronic dry eye so she will need daily drops to help keep it moist. Despite this, she sees pretty well and gets around just fine.

Leah has such a sweet, outgoing personality! She is a charmer. She believes she is the Belle of the ball and cannot understand why anyone would not want to cuddle her all day long. She adores attention and would probably do best in a home where she would be showered with affection and not have to share her humans with too many other pets.

ADOPTED

Lee
Lee is a 3 year old fawn male. He was an owner surrender. He is heartworm negative. He is current on his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered.

Leela
Meet Leela! Leela is a beautiful young fawn female. She's not quite 2 years old yet. She's packed with much energy and love. She was surrendered by her current owner due to some family changes, so she is healthy, spayed and up to date on her shots.

She gets along well with other dogs and does well with children. She loves to play - quite a bit of 'puppy' still remains in this little girl! Due to her playful nature, she would do best in a home with other animals.

Leela is housetrained, but not used to being left alone for long periods of time. Easy access to a yard would be a big plus for her. She is leash trained and does well on walks. She is not crate trained - why sleep in a crate when you can sleep on a bed?

Leela has been through a lot of changes recently and needs a stable home environment. She needs someone who can give her a 'forever' home.

Leonard
Leonard is a beautiful fawn 'silver' male. He is just under 1 year old. He was an owner surrender due to his not getting along with a bigger dog in the house. He is current on his vaccinations, microchipped and has been neutered. He is in excellent health.

Leonard is a typical 1 year old pup. He has tons of energy and just loves to play. He likes to play tug-o-war and play with other dogs. Given his energy, he probably would do best in a pug-only environment, since a 'big' dog may not know how to react to him. He might also do well with older children.

ADOPTED

Levi
Levi is a cute fawn male who is 2 years old. He was an owner surrender through no fault of his own. He has been neutered, brought up to date on his vaccinations and microchipped. He has had recurrent sinus infections and so we had a head CT done to see what the cause was. As it turns out, poor little Levi has been suffering from a cleft palate (hole in the roof of his mouth) which he has probably had since birth. We are thrilled to report that Levi has had his surgery and has recovered fully! He will no longer be plagued with recurring infections and will be able to live a happy, healthy, normal life.

Levi responds very well to people and adores being cuddled and loved on. His favorite thing in the whole world is his ball. He has even been known to sleep with it in his mouth! He gets on well with other dogs and would do just fine in a multi-pug home.

Lewis
Lewis is a gorgeous fawn male. He is just a year old. He was found wandering the streets with no tag or microchip. When nobody came to claim him we took him in. He has been neutered, microchipped and brought current on his vaccinations. He is in good health and is heartworm negative.

Lex
Lex is a black male puppy. He is just about 1 year old. He was found wandering the streets by a good samaritan. He has not been neutered but will be prior to placement. He is heartworm negative. He has been brought current on his vaccinations and microchipped.

From Lex's Foster: Lex has all of the energy that you would expect from a puppy. He is very playful and loves his toys especially his rawhide chews. Lex gets along great with other dogs whether at mealtime or bedtime in a crate together. As I move around the house, he is following, and as soon as I sit, he is there ready to lay in my lap. It seems that Lex has been raised around kids in his past life, and loves their attention as well. Lex is a quick learner and already responds to "sit" and "shake" and has had a lot of practice with "get down". He is still being potty trained but loves the freedom of a doggie door. Lex seems so happy just to get the smallest bit of attention; he will make a wonderful family pet.

Libby
Libby is a black female. She was found tied up in a Kroger parking lot. We believe she is about 4 years old. She is severe heartworm positive and will begin treatment shortly.

Libby is a very sweet, gentle girl. She is very loving and loves nothing better than to be held and touched. She is very good with children and other animals. She has learned how nice it is to sleep in a human bed and enjoys cuddling. She is mostly house trained. She is eager to please and will make a fabulous pet for some lucky family.

Lil Nicky
Lil Nicky is a fawn male. He is 8 years old. He is an owner surrender due to foreclosure. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations. He is housebroken, happy and looking for a great family to love him. He is currently on a diet and geting some exercise.

From his Foster: Little Nicky is a love sponge. The more you give, the more he soaks up. He thinks he is an alpha male, but he backs down the second another pug stands up to him. He has some separation issues, but they are not too bad. He does not like it when anyone leaves the house and will try to grab your pants leg (or your leg) as you walk through the door. He barks and woo woos for a bit after you leave. Stainless steel bowls are not his favorite and he is learning that kibble is better than being hungry. There is quite a lot to love about Nicky, so he is on a diet of half kibble, half green beans. He LOOOOVES green beans and should soon be a svelte, easy breathing guy. He is full of energy and loves to take short walks, but he also enjoys couch time. He marked when he first came here, but a belly band is doing the trick for Nick. He would do well in a house with a strong alpha female to keep him in line.

Lisa
Lisa is a sweet fawn female who came to us from a local shelter after somebody left her and her "sister" Lacey at their door. Lacey and Lisa are extremely bonded pair and need to stay together. Lisa has obviously had her left eye removed some time ago and it does not cause her any issue now. She has tested positive for heartworms and will begin treatment soon. She has been brought up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and spayed.

From Lacey & Lisa's foster: Lisa & Lacey truly are a bonded pair. They are always together. They are either cuddling together, sleeping together, cleaning each others faces, or playing together. Littlebit
Little Bit is a 7 year old fawn female. She was an owner surrender through no fault of her own. She is up to date on her vaccinations and has been spayed and microchipped. She is in excellent health with no medical issues.

She is a sweetheart of a girl who loves attention. She gets along with other dogs but would do best in a home without a lot of other pets. She is very sweet, she will lay on your lap or right next to you and let you pet her if you want or she’ll just lie there quietly. She is very healthy. She is very well behaved and is completely housetrained. She will be the perfect per for someone that is capable of providing the love she needs.

ADOPTED

Lola
Say hello to Lola. She is a pretty fawn female who is 7 years old. She is an owner surrender due to family changes. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations. She is in excellent health, though she could stand to lose a little weight for summer.

Lola is a sweet girl who loves human attention. She gets on well with other dogs as long as she is 'top dog' of the family. Though she is used to living with another dog, she may do well as a spoiled only dog. She has a fantastic personality and is a real charmer.

ADOPTED

Lola
Lola is a fawn female. She is 5 years old. She comes to us from a breeder's facility, so she's never been anybody's pet. Her puppymill days are now behind her and she has been spayed. She is moderately heartworm positive and will begin treatment shortly.

From Lola's Foster: Lola is doing terrific. She goes outside just fine, so she is house trained. She loves to climb on a bed and couch so she stays in a small kennel while we are out. The Kennel is in our room next to the large doggie pillow that she shares with our pug. They both sleep on the pillow at night and snore all night long. Lola gets along fine with our dog, she is very sweet and a little timid. She has adjusted well. We take both dogs for walks often and she does great. She would make a terrific pet, she is sweet and trained!

ADOPTED

Lou And Andy
Lou and Andy are two handsome fellas who were found wandering the streets with no collars or ID. They were taken in by a Good Samaritan who contacted us when they could not keep them.

Unfortunately both boys are heartworm positive and are presently undergoing treatment. However, they have responded well and had no complications. We expect them to convert to negative heartworm status without any difficulty. Andy is a bit overweight, so he is now on a diet which should ease his 'snorting' and help him cope better with the summer heat. He has already lost quite a bit of weight and is looking very healthy. Both boys have been brought up to date on their vaccinations and microchipped. Both boys have been neutered. We are estimating that Lou is around 6 years old and Andy about 5.

Lou came to us with a partially torn ACL (knee ligament) but surgery has not been necessary. With rest and puggie rehab we are happy to report that he has made a full recovery.

Both Lou and Andy are housebroken and get on well with children and other dogs. Lou is a very cuddly boy who loves belly rubbings. Andy is best described as a 'shadow' - following you from room to room, making sure he keeps track of you! Both are described by their foster as 'lovers.'

It's obvious that these two are very close, having been through quite a bit together. Therefore we want to adopt these two as a pair.

Louie
Louie is a gorgeous 1 1/2 yr old fawn male. He came to us from a shelter. Prior to that, this poor little guy had been passed between 4 homes during his short life. Due to this, he is quite timid when meeting new people. However, as he gets to know (and trust) you, he comes out of his shell and is quite a lover-boy!

Louie has been neutered, microchipped and is current on all vaccinations and heartworm preventative. He has an old small injury to his left eye but does not seem to have any vision loss. He is quite healthy.

Louie gets on well with other dogs as well as cats. He still has quite a bit of puppy left in him. He needs a family that can give him love and security as well as lots of playtime.

ADOPTED

Louie 3
Louie is a fawn male. He is 4 years old and is an owner surrender. He is in good health is is heartworm negative. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

From Louie's foster: He is doing great! He is such a happy-go-lucky dog - he gets along with all other animals and people and is very eager to make friends. He gets pretty wound up when meeting people for the first time, but as soon as someone sits down he immediately jumps in their lap to snuggle and give kisses. He loves to walk outside and to run around and play, but he also loves to cozy up on some pillows and take a nap. He tends to shadow me at home, which is adorable.

The belly band has definitely done its job. He has been band-free for several days now with no incidents. The housebreaking itself was never an issue - he understands what to do outside and will let you know if he needs to go out. He also knows how to sit on command, although sometimes he isn't so good at staying because he gets too excited. Anyway, he's a sharp little guy and he does listen when he's being corrected or praised (mostly)! Anyway, things are going well for Mr. Lou. He's a big hit with everyone that he's met. He is a genuinely loveable dog with a great temperment.

ADOPTED

Lucky
Lucky is a 6 yr old male that needs to be an only dog. Lucky has had some bad luck. His Mommy is no longer able to care for him due to cancer. She had to be placed into an assisted living home and Lucky did not get along with the dogs at his human sister's house. He loves people of all ages and sizes, but NOT other dogs. Lucky is a pug mix, with the need to be with his people coming from the pug side of his family. He loves to sleep in the bed and is housebroken. He is looking for a family that will allow him to receive all of the love, attention and caring that they can give. He craves contact with his person and will sit on the couch with you for hours. He does fine with other dogs outside of his home for short periods of time. Lucky just needs all your attention at home.

Lucy
Lucy is a 2 year old fawn who has been spayed and is current on all of her vaccinations.

She was an owner surrender due to her allergies. At present Lucy has been weaned off all medications and her allergies are being addressed through diet changes. In addition to her special diet for allergies, we are also counting calories for Lucy so she can regain her girlish figure for summer.

Lucy is a very sweet, mellow girl who would do well in a calm environment. She shows some playfulness but prefers to snuggle.

She is housebroken and walks well on a lead. She is just waiting for that special someone who can take her for those walks she needs.

Lucy 2
Lucy is a black female. She is young, we estimate she is between 1 to 2 years old. She was found wandering the streets, so her history is not known. What we do know is that she has not had a very good life so far. When we first picked her up she was extremely thin - so thin in fact that her backbone and ribs could be seen. Her fur was in bad shape due to malnourishment. She is mildly heartworm positive. Thankfully though, all of these things can be corrected and she is otherwise in great health with no long-term medical issues. She has been steadily gaining weight and with the improved diet her coat is starting to look much better. She has been brought current on her vaccinations and microchipped as well as spayed.

When Lucy first came to us she seemed overwhelmed and scared of people. She's probably been living on the streets for a while and didn't know if she could trust us. But with the loving care of her foster Mom and her furry foster siblings, she is starting to come out of her shell. She doesn't seem to understand what toys are for but she has decided that it's fun to play with other dogs. What she's decided she likes best of all though is to be held and loved on. She is a charmer who makes you want to pick her up and tell her that she will be loved forever.

ADOPTED

Lucy 3
Lucy is a 1 1/2 year old female. She is an owner surrender. She is current on her vaccinations, microchipped and spayed. Lucy has a tendency to get frequent urinary tract infections if she is not on a proper diet, so she will need to be on special food to prevent these. She is also a bit overweight so she is now on a diet. She is in otherwise excellent health.

Lucy is very playful and is learning to play with toys. She likes to sleep in a human bed and will even sleep under the covers if it's cool enough! She is currently learning about housetraining and doing very well. She is good around other dogs and cats but could also be an only dog. She loves children! She also loves to cuddle and be in someone's lap.

ADOPTED

Luke
Luke is a handsome 7 year old male fawn. He was an owner surrender after 6 years so he is a little confused right now. He is in great health, current on his vaccinations and has been microchipped. He has just been neutered and had some dental work done. As you can see by his photos, he has the most expressive face!

He is a happy boy and enjoys being around people. He is housebroken but had a few marking incidents in his foster home prior to being neutered. Though he does get on well with his foster siblings, it appears that he is not used to being around so many other animals. He seems to prefer human contact. He is definitely a lapdog and a cuddler!

ADOPTED

Lulu
Lulu is an adorable fawn female. She is an owner surrender with her brother Peter. She is just a puppy at only 8 months old. She has been brought current on her vaccinations, microchipped and spayed. She is in excellent health but is just a bit timid.

Luna
Luna is a black female. She comes to us from an animal control facility. She is 4 years old. She is severe heartworm positive and will begin treatment shortly. She also has a luxating patella and a bad left hip. We believe she had been used for breeding previously. She has now been spayed and is current on her vaccinations.

From Luna's foster: Luna is one beautiful little Puggie girl!!! She is very small and has the sweetest face. She was really quite shy when she first arrived, but over the course of a few weeks has made so much progress it's amazing. She is right in the mist of everyone else now seeking to get her share of the attention. She is quite excited when she first gets on my lap but after a little petting and calming down she loves to just be held. She is very happy to give as many Puggie kisses as you want. She gets on extremely well with other dogs (including my daughter's Great Dane) and, typical of a Pug, loves everyone that comes to visit. She also has very good house manners. While some Pugs with Luna's history of breeding find the adjustment to being in a home quite challenging she seems to be quite satisfied with a nice soft bed, regular meals and a lap to cuddle on. She will give some lucky family years of entertainment and love.

ADOPTED

Mack
Mack is an adorable fawn puppy. He is 6 -7 months old. He came to us due to the care and concern of a Good Samaritan who saw that his owner was keeping him outside and not taking proper care of him. Through her efforts, the owners turned him over to us.

Poor little Mack has not been looked after, and he is in need of a lot of TLC. He has a severe hookworm infection which has left him underweight and anemic. He has a 'little' eye which does not seem to bother him, but unfortunately his 'good' eye has an ulcer on it which is now being treated. Mack has been brought up to date on his vaccinations and microchipped. Once he is clear of worms and is stronger he will be neutered. As he is still a puppy and has not been living indoors, he is currently being housetrained.

Amazingly, despite having such a rough start to life Mack is a very sweet, happy puppy. He absolutely loves all the attention he is now receiving and is eager to learn and play. This little guy will steal your heart!

Mae
Mae is a fawn female. She is 8 years old. She is heartworm positive and will begin treatment shortly. She has been spayed, microchipped and brought current on her vaccinations.

From Mae's foster: Meet Mae. Mae is a sweet 8 year old lady. She is a little girl who loves to be held. She gets along with other dogs and cats as well. Mae is very submissive and often shy, so she would likely do well in a home with fewer dogs. She has wonderful house manners and loves to play with her stuffed monkey or chew on a bone. Mostly though, she likes to just relax and be loved by her human! Mae is heartworm positive and will begin treatment in within the next few weeks. Once that has finished, she will be ready to become the princess of your family!

ADOPTED

Maestro
Introducing Maestro! Maestro is a very playful fawn male who is about 1 year old. He was an owner surrender and is very happy to finally be allowed in the house. It appears that he has been an outdoor dog for most of his life, but he is definitely adjusting to being inside with the family. Unfortunately because he was kept outside and not given preventative, Maestro is heartworm positive. Since he is only moderately positive he does not need aggressive treatment and will be treated with Heartgard. He has been brought up to date on his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered.

Maestro gets along well will other dogs and children. He is very active and loves to play. Unfortunately, because he has never lived inside, he is not housebroken, but he is getting very good at letting us know when he has to go. He marks in the house as well, but being neutered should help with this problem. He loves to be with his human. Family (human and puppy) cuddles on the couch have become a new favorite activity. He likes to be involved in whatever is going on. Maestro is looking for a family that will help him become the treasured baby that he has always wanted to be.

Maggie
Maggie is a sweet fawn female. She is about 6 years old. She is an owner surrender through no fault of her own. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations. She is in excellent health and is heartworm negative.

Maggie is a very loving girl. She will seek out affection and loves to be near her human. She gets on very well with other dogs, and even cats. She also does very well with children. Maggie is very 'cat-like'; she likes to curl up to sleep on the back of the sofa and will stretch up your leg to get a cuddle. She knows some basic commands like Sit, but we are working on coming when called. She is housetrained and will let you know when she needs to go out. She loves the freedom of a doggie door. Maggie needs someone who will love her and let her know how special she is. In return you will have a faithful companion who will reward you with very lady-like puggie kisses.

ADOPTED

Maggie 2
Maggie is an adorable fawn female. She is 10 years old. Unfortunately her Mommy passed away and now Maggie needs to find a new home. Maggie is current on her vaccinations, microchipped and spayed. She has some arthritis but no major medical issues. She has had an eye ulcer which required her eye to be removed, but now that it is gone she is a happy, pain-free girl who gets around just fine.

Maggie is used to being the only dog, but she is currently living in foster care with other dogs and getting on well. She has been paper trained. She does have a grass allergy and will need to be kept indoors but since she's a Pug she shouldn't be left outdoors anyway. She is a very sweet and cuddly girl. As you can see by her photos she has a unique talent - when she gets excited her ears stand up! Otherwise when she's relaxed they flop over just like any other Pug. She is a cutie who would love a chance to find a new home.

Maile
Maile is a gorgeous fawn female. She comes to us from a local shelter so we do not know her history. We estimate she is 1 to 1 1/2 years old. She is heartworm negative and appears to be in excellent health. She is current on her vaccinations and has been spayed.

This girl is full of life and energy. She is very playful and fun-loving. She is very friendly and loves to meet people and other animals. She would do well in a household where somebody has time to devote to her and she would not be left alone for long periods - she thrives on attention and interaction. She would be an excellent pet for a family with children who love to play.

Maisy
Maisy is a fawn female. She is 2-3 year old puppy mill survivor. She has now been spayed. She is current on her vaccinations and has been microchipped. She is in excellent health except for being quite skinny.

From Maisy's foster: She is small for her age, but thinks she is a big girl. She has learned to play with toys and loves tug-of-war with the other pugs in the house.

Maisy is learning to be a part of a family. We are working on housebreaking and she is progressing well.

Maisy is fearful in new situations and prefers to move at her own pace when exploring new spaces. She loves other dogs, but is not sure about most people. Maisy will be a great companion and pet with some patience, understanding and time. She has already figured out that the people bed is a good place and sleeps with her head in my hand.

Mandi is a sweet 7 year old black female. She came to us from a local animal control office after her suffering from severe neglect from her former owner. She is currently suffering from a combination of skin infections (non-contagious) that have obviously been left untreated for quite some time. She is now receiving proper medication and will recover. (We have seen this same condition in the past ? please take a look at Bella in our Success Stories page to see recovery from this condition.) She also is receiving medicated drops for her eyes which have also been neglected.

Mandi has just been spayed, having obviously had several litters of puppies during her life. She has been brought up to date on her vaccinations and microchipped. Thankfully she is heartworm negative.

Despite having been treated so poorly, Mandi is a loving girl who enjoys attention from people. She also gets on well with other dogs. Mandi is a sweetheart of a girl who has unfortunately not been given the love and attention she deserves. We know somewhere out there is a loving home just waiting to give her the TLC she needs to help her flourish.

Marci
Marci is a 2 year old black female who was an owner surrender. She has been spayed, microchipped and is now current on her vaccinations. She is a bit overweight and will benefit from a diet and exercise routine but is in otherwise good health. She is housebroken.

Marci is a very timid, gentle girl who gets easily frightened of loud noises or raised voices. She would do best in a quiet home where she can feel safe and secure.

Marilyn is an adorable fawn female. She comes to us from a local shelter so we don't know her history. She is being spayed and brought current on her vaccinations.

Marley
Marley is a fawn male. He comes to us from a local shelter. He is about 3 years old.

From Marley's foster: Marley described in one word- SWEET! He is incredibly loveable and will be ever so difficult to give up. He loves to cuddle, give kisses and he is playful, give him a tennis ball and the game of catch begins. He is a smart little boy, he knows how to sit and is slowing starting to learn how to use our doggie door, he comes when called and comes quickly. He socializes very well with other dogs, we enjoy taking him to the dog park, he is a big hit there. He also gets along very well with our other dogs. He has had a couple of accidents in the house, but I believe that is because he is new to our home and is marking his territory, he is crate trained. Anyone looking for a loyal, playful, yet sweet and cuddly pug, he is the right little boy for you!

ADOPTED

Marlie
Marlie is a sweet fawn female. She is 8 years old and an owner surrender through no fault of her own. She has been spayed, is current on her vaccinations and has been microchipped. She is in good health.

Marlie is used to living with a 'big' dog, so she would do well in a home with another dog even if it isn't a pug. She is housebroken and well mannered. She is a sweetheart of a girl who loves to be with people. But even more than that, she loves her toys. Her favorite seems to be ball - she could play all day! This little girl is no couch potato - unless of course you're going to snuggle with her on it!

ADOPTED

Marty
Marty is a 3 year old fawn male. He came to us when his owner surrendered him to a local shelter. Marty is a sweet little pug! He's got one eye - but that doesn't slow him down a bit! He loves to play, but loves to snuggle even more. He's doing great with our dogs and seems to be housebroken. He also seems to know basic commands like down and sit. He is moderate HW +, and we are doing conservative treatment. A very happy little guy!

ADOPTED

Mary Kate
Mary Kate is a fawn female. She is 2 years old and comes to us as an owner surrender. She is in good health except for being a bit "fluffy" - she is now on a diet. She has been microchipped, spayed and is current on her vaccinations.

ADOPTED

Mattox
Mattox is a fawn female. Though she is only 2 years old she's been through a lot already. She came to us from a shelter who received several dogs through a puppy mill seizure. She has now been spayed. Surprisingly, she is heartworm negative. She came to us with hookworms but those have now cleared and she is in good health. She is now current on her vaccinations and microchipped.

From her foster: Little Miss Mattox is one of the four puppy mill Pugs. She is very pretty and while she is the biggest of the three girls she still only weighs 13 pounds. She is making slow but steady progress in overcoming her fear of people. She really wants to be loved but is not sure how to go about asking. She will sit on my lap for a very long time but she won't come up to me and ask to be held, I have to go pick her up and bring her to the couch. When I do approach her she will flatten out like a pancake and roll over on her back. At these times it just breaks my heart that someone has treated her so badly in her short life. She is improving on a daily basis, she comes a little closer to the couch each day. She gets along great with the other Pugs and has even discovered what toys are for.

Mattox needs to have a new home that is very strong in the patience department. She will take a lot of love and gentle coaxing to get over her shyness and fear. But the reward you will receive when she finally shows that she trusts you completely will be like nothing you have ever experienced before.

Maverick
Maverick is a fawn male. He is about 6 years old. He comes to us from a local shelter where somebody dropped him over the fence one night. Poor fella - he's a sweet boy who deserves far better than that! He has been neutered, microchipped and brought current on his vaccinations. He is a healthy boy but understandably a bit frightened of strangers.

ADOPTED

Max
Max is a sweet black male. He was an owner surrender along with Molly. As they are a bonded pair they will only be considered for adoption together. He is 8 years old and in very good health. He is current on his vaccinations, microchipped and has been neutered.

Max is a cuddler and loves to sit on the sofa with the humans and snuggle. He isn't much for playing and is definitely more of a couch potato. He is a very well behaved little man and has been housetrained.

ADOPTED

Max
Max is a gorgeous black male pug who is about 3 years old, though he looks and acts much younger. He is in overall good health, is current on all vaccinations and has been neutered.

Max is an owner surrender due to family changes. He gets along very well with young children and loves to play with other dogs. He is housebroken and crate trained, though he does not appear to have been taught to walk on a lead.

He is a very sweet, timid pug who responds well to gentleness. He is very shy when first meeting people, but once he feels he can trust you he will let you cuddle him forever!

Max needs a stable, loving home filled with people that he can trust. He needs to learn that there are good people in this world who know how to treat a little fella like himself with care and compassion.

Max 3
Max is a Brindle pug mix. He is 3 years old. He comes to us from a local shelter. He is in good health. He is heartworm negative. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

From Max's foster: Max is probably THE sweetest pug I have ever met! He loves other dogs of all ages and kids. He is timid and shy until he gets to know you, but once he warms up to you he will always be by your side. He is very laid-back for a younger pug. His favorite pastime is lounging on the couch, or on the arm of the couch (he seems to think he's a kitty!) When he gets tired he will go to his bed and go to sleep. He also likes to play tug-o-war with our other puppies. He likes car rides and gets along great with our old fat cat. :)

ADOPTED

Max 4
Max is a fawn male. He is 3 years old and an owner surrender. He is in great health; he is heartworm negative. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations. Max does not get along with children and will only be considered for adoption by an adult-only household.

ADOPTED

Maximus
Say hello to Maximus! He is a 7 to 8 year-old male fawn. He has been neutered and is current on all of his vaccinations. He's a big fella - he weighed 32 lbs when we first picked him up - but he has since trimmed down a bit and is looking ready for summer. He does have an ulcerated cornea in one eye and some vision loss in both eyes, though he sees quite well. He is in otherwise excellent health and is heartworm negative. He is crate trained and walks well on a lead.

Don't let his weight fool you he may look like a couch potato, but Maximus can move when he wants to! He thoroughly enjoys being around other dogs and would do well in a multi-dog household. He loves to play - tug of war is one of his favorite games. He also enjoys cuddling, belly rubs and giving puggie kisses.

Maximus was an owner surrender. He was kept outside at his previous home. As such he is not used to being indoors but he is adapting fast. Maximus will only be adopted out to a home where he will be kept indoors.

Maxwell Smart
Maxwell Smart is a fawn male. He is 6 years old. He is in good health; he is heartworm negative and has been neutered. He is current on his vaccinations and has been microchipped.

From Maxwell's foster: Agent 86 battles the forces of KAOS. Because of his extra-long tongue and slightly crooked jaw, this secret agent's bumbling appearance belies his intelligence and impeccable manners. He will not jump up on furniture or the bed without a specific invite or encouragement, and his acute sense of smell should help him sniff out that missing shoe phone. There isn't a square inch of our big garden he hasn't investigated with that nose of his, and if he hasn't marked it, it's only because he's out of ammo. He must be using his super intelligence to remember where he's been in the house, however, since after the first well-timed correction he hasn't marked a thing inside. It must be The Old Saving His Gun For A More Target-rich Environment Trick. He's quite the lady-killer, but likes to play macho with the four-legged boys; especially the intact min-pin from across the street, who he's typecast as his German nemesis, Siegried. Max might want to be top dog, but like his namesake, he "missed it by that much." None of the sparring has gotten out of hand and he quickly recognizes his limitations: he is in Control, after all. This bumbling charmer with his deep, sexy voice is looking for his own Agent 99 who will rescue him forever. "Oh, Max!!"

Mckenzie
McKenzie is a fawn female. She comes to us from a puppy mill. She is 4 years old. She has now been spayed and brought current on her vaccinations. She is heartworm negative.

From McKenzie's foster: McKenzie is just about too sweet for words. She is the tiniest full grown Pug I have ever had, at approximately 4 years she weighs in at a whopping 11.08 pounds. She has had a pretty poor start to life, she was rescued from a puppy mill in Oklahoma. When she was picked up it was 42 degrees outside and she was in a cage exposed to the elements, I can only imagine how cold it was at night when the sun went down.

But her start in life hasn't affected her personality, she is a very loving little lady, she has taken very quickly to being held and loved. She has started following me around everywhere I go and scratching at my leg to pick her up. She is really a lap buddy. When she first arrived she was quite scared but it only took a day for her to realize she liked this new life. As with any puppy mill rescue she does have potty issues, she has absolutely no idea that it's rude to potty in the house. We're working on it very hard but it will take some time for her to learn a new way of life. McKenzie hasn't started showing an interest in playing yet, she's quite happy just being loved. I think she will eventually feel secure enough to get down and play with everyone else.

McKenzie will make a wonderful addition to any family. She will need to have some training, but any effort that you have to put out will be returned many times over when you see her blossom into the Princess Pug that's hidden inside.

Meisha
Meisha is an adorable black female. We believe she is a 'Bug' - a Boston/Pug mix. Whatever she is, this girl is CUTE! She has the tail of a pug but seems to have the ears of a Boston Terrier. Since both dogs are about the same size and stature we don't expect she'll get any bigger than she is now. She came to us from a local shelter, so her background isn't known. Our vet says she is somewhere around 1 - 1 1/2 years old and in excellent health. She is not spayed but will be prior to placement. She has been microchipped and brought up to date on her vaccinations. She is heartworm negative and has been started on prevention.

In addition to be very cute, this girl is also very sweet. She is a very social, friendly dog who gets on quite well with other dogs. She loves to play and would do well in a home with a playmate.

Melodi
Melodi is a black female. She was found wandering with no tags or microchip. She was severely dehydrated after being left out in the Texas heat. A good samaritan took her in and called us to get her. After being treated by our vet she is feeling much better. She is in good health and is heartworm negative. She is about 3 years old. She is a tiny little thing at only 14 lbs. She is very friendly and sweet and does get on well with other animals.

Melvin
Melvin in sweet fawn male who we estimate is about 4 years old. He came to us from a local shelter, so we do not know about his history. However, given the condition he was found in, it appears that he has been living on the streets for a little while. Unfortunately, that means he is heartworm positive. Thankfully now we have him and he is on treatment. He has been neutered, microchipped and brought up to date on his vaccinations. He is housetrained.

Melvin is a very curious pug - he loves to explore and check everything out. He also loves attention and being cuddled. In fact, his foster mom describes him as the King of Cuddlers! He is a very sweet boy who will make someone a great companion.

ADOPTED

Mercy
Mercy is a fawn female. She is 6 years old. She is heartworm negative. She came to us from a local animal shelter after she needed emergency bladder surgery. We are happy to report that she is recovering beautifully. She has been spayed and is current on her vaccinations.

From Mercy's foster: Mercy came to us in really bad shape! When she was ready to come home with me her surgery seemed to be healed quite nicely but she still had an issue with all four of her feet, the skin was burned. I was told to put ointment on them and then put baby socks on her. Well, after borrowing some socks from my neighbor, I discovered that Mercy was not at all happy with socks on her feet, they lasted all of one minute :) But her feet sure didn't seem to be a problem with her, she ran around and acted like a normal, healthy pug. She is now 100% recovered.

Mercy is really hard to describe, she's part clown and part pug. Sometimes I look over at her and she has this expression on her face that looks like someone has really surprised her... her eyes are all big and it's so funny that I laugh quite often. And she also will somehow get her upper lip hooked under her teeth so she looks like an old lady with her lips scrunched together that doesn't have any teeth. I tried to catch this in the last picture that is posted on her bio, believe me it's much funnier in person. She's really something! She is also one of the most cuddly, loving pugs that I've ever had. She will sit beside me on the couch and lay her head on my lap and sleep until I move. She also really gets into playing with me, I will run around the room and she will chase and jump at me with her tail wagging all the time. She is also very well behaved in the house, she has never had an accident.

Mercy is an absolutely great! She will be great for someone that really wants a well rounded pug, she's completely content to just sit next to you and be loved and she also will play with you when you want to play. She'll be whatever you want, as long as she gets her loves and hugs!

Mickey
Mickey is a male fawn pug mix. He came to us from a local shelter along with his brother, Manny and his Mom Millie and dad Max. He is in excellent health.

From Mickey's foster: Mickey is such a sweet little guy! He is very playful and goes at full speed most of the time but when he's ready to calm down he crawls up on my lap and turns into a cuddle bunny. He will keep creeping up until he has his chin resting on my shoulder and then after a few kisses he settles down for a long nap. I can't begin to describe how utterly sweet his is! He has the most beautiful pale brown eyes and they are so expressive. I believe he's going to be a bigger than average Pug, he's growing by leaps and bounds. He has a wonderful personality and seems to be quite intelligent. He is very social and is constantly with me wherever I go in the house. He is also doing extremely well in the potty training department. He is quite aware of what he is supposed to do outside and when I put him out he makes quick work of doing his business. The only times he has an accident is when I lose track of the time and don't put him out often enough.

Mickey will make a wonderful family pet. He is just about the sweetest boy I've ever had and anyone will be very lucky to be able to give him a home.

Milo 2
Milo is a sweet fawn male. He is 10 years old. He was an owner surrender due to a family move. He is in good health. He is current on his vaccinations, microchipped and has just been neutered.

Milo is a very confused little guy right now as he had been with his previous owner since he was a puppy. He’s a sweet fellow who gets on well with other dogs of all sizes and even gets on well with children. He’s never lived with cats. This little guy loves nothing better than being held and cuddled. If you’re looking for a lap warmer then look no further – this sweetheart may be just the companion you’ve been looking for!

Mimi
Meet Ms. Mimi Pugsly. She is a fawn female who comes to us from another rescue facility which was overwhelmed with animals. She is 4 to 5 years old. She is heartworm positive and has begun treatment.

From Mimi's foster: Mimi is a fun loving four to five year old fawn female. She is seventeen pounds of absolute charm. She was a little shy at first, but she comes out of her shell a little more every day. If given the amount of love and attention she deserves, she will make a very loving and loyal little companion. She gets along very well with other dogs. We haven’t seen her with cats or children, but we expect she would do well with both. Every human she has met has absolutely fallen in love with her, naturally. As you can see, she is a beautiful little girl with eyes that just make you melt. Her tongue hangs out most of the time, which just adds to her cute factor. She is very athletic for a pug. She hasn’t learned her name yet but she very quickly learned the word “treat.” She makes silly noises sometimes and she definitely snores (which is to be expected with pugs) but that just adds to her character! Mimi was born a hermaphrodite, but you would never be able to tell without very close inspection. She looks dashing in pink – so we’ve decided she is a girly girl at heart. Mimi will make a wonderful addition to someone’s family.

Minnie is an adorable fawn female. She is an owner surrender through no fault of her own. She is 3 years old. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations. She is in excellent health.

Minnie is a sweet loving pug, very needy for affection and attention. Seems incredibly healthy and easy going. She gets along well with the other pugs and plays well. She prefers human company and hates to be alone. Ideal if you prefer a pug that follows you from room to room. She loves to eat and is currently at a healthy weight so we are trying to maintain her.

Minx is a black female. Her name describes her well! She is full of mischief and energy and will dazzle you with her cuteness. She came to us from a local shelter so we don't know her history. She is quite a handful and needs a home where she will get attention and consistency in order to help her understand house rules. Otherwise she'll think she runs the joint! She seems to understand how adorable she is and uses that to her advantage. She has not been spayed but will be prior to placement. She is in good health but does have a "small" eye - which never developed from birth. It causes her no issues at all. She is heartworm negative and has been microchipped and brought current on her vaccinations.

Monica
Monica is a cute fawn female, though it is difficult to see that from her current photos. Poor little Monica does not have too much fur right now as she is suffering from Demodex mange (non-contagious) for which she is now getting medication. She is about 2 years old, though she definitely looks like a puppy. She is very tiny - right now she only weighs 9 pounds! She has been spayed, microchipped and brought up to date on her vaccinations.

This little girl is such a sweetheart! She is very sweet and loving and charms all who meet her.

Monica has been dubbed our 'female Dougie' and we encourage you to look at our Why? page on this website to see the Before and After photos of our former rescue Dougie. We fully expect Monica to have the same amazing transformation that he did. Morgan
Morgan is a gorgeous black male. He has just turned 8 years old. This sweet boy was used as a stud dog at a breeder's facility until last week. Now he's ready for a new chapter in his life where he gets to be a pampered pet. He is in excellent health and has just been neutered. He is current on all his vaccinations and has been microchipped. He is heartworm negative and has been started on preventative.

Morgan is a very shy little guy who is understandably confused about his present situation. As he has spent his whole life in cages he is timid around people. He has obviously never been cuddled and told how beautiful he is - something that we want to change! This little guy deserves a far better life than the one he has had so far. We just know that someone out there is going to make up for lost time and make his future the best years of his life.

Mr Jones
This is Mr Jones, a.k.a. JoJo . He is a true gentleman puggie! He is an approximately 4 year old handsome fawn who weighs approximately 15 lbs. He has been neutered and is up to date on all his shots. Unfortunately he is heartworm positive, but he is currently being treated for this and it has not slowed him down one bit! He has no other health issues.

JoJo is very friendly and sweet. He will sit quietly in your lap or lay next to you on the floor, but also loves to run and play with other dogs. His foster described him as 'so well mannered' and 'cordial' with other dogs.

Poor JoJo has not had much stability in his life. His last owner couldn't keep him any longer and handed him over to a shelter after only 6 months. We don't know how many times he has had to move prior to that. This is very surprising given his impeccable manners and sweet disposition. This gentleman caller needs a home where his social graces will be appreciated and he will be the cherished pet he deserves to be.

Mugsy 2
Mugsy is a fawn male. He is 6 years old. He is an owner surrender through no fault of his own. He is in good health; he is heartworm negative. He is neutered, microchipped and current on his vaccinations.

From Mugsy's foster: He is a sweet boy, he loves attention. A big couch potato. Loves sitting by someone. For his larger size he is very gentle. We call him a little cuddle bear. He is very smart and well behaved, loves to go for walks. He doesn't play with toys much.

Mugsy Malone
Meet Mr. Mugsy Malone. He is a 4 year old fawn male who was an owner surrender. He has recently been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

Mugsy is a sweetheart of a guy who just needs a little love and affection. He is housebroken, though he occasionally marks but that should stop now that he has been neutered. He enjoys being around people and will lay quietly at your feet or on the sofa beside you. He also likes to give puggie kisses. He would probably do best in an adult only environment, or perhaps with older children who are not likely to startle or play too rough with him. He needs a home where he can feel safe and secure and free to give his puggie lovin to!

He gets on very well with other dogs and really enjoys playing fetch. He already knows how to retrieve and drop, he just needs someone to throw that ball!

Mulligan
Mulligan is a 2 year old fawn male. He came to us from a local shelter so we do not know his history. He has tested mildly positive for heartworms and seems to have some itchy skin right now. He has been brought current on his vaccinations and neutered.

UPDATE FROM HIS FOSTER: He is a very loving pug that seeks human contact. He loves to be petted and in return, he loves to shower you with doggie kisses. In fact, he not only kisses his human family, but he also loves to kiss our other two pugs. He even tried to kiss the cat, although that didn't work out like he planned. He is very puppy-like and very energetic. He is curious and want to follow me around whenever I move from room to room. In fact he follows me so closely that he constantly hits me in the back of the legs and his tripped me a couple of times. He loves to play with our two pugs and also loves to play with stuffed animals. He would do well in a multi-dog home and gets along with cats. He is no couch potato but is learning that it is nice to sit with a human and get pets. He may not do well with very young children as he is very energetic and will jump on them. To sum it up, he would make anybody an excellent companion and buddy.

Murphy
Murphy is a handsome fawn male. He is about 1 1/2 years old, which means he still is quite a spunky young fellow! He came to us from a local shelter, so we don't know how he ended up without a home.

Murphy has been neutered, microchipped and is current on all his vaccinations. He is heartworm negative and has been started on preventative.

Murphy is a very well behaved little gentleman who is housebroken and gets on well with other dogs. Murphy is a healthy, happy little guy who needs someone to play with!

Murray
Murray is a fawn male. He comes to us from a local animal shelter, so we don't know his history. We estimate he is between 2 to 3 years old. He is thankfully heartworm negative. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations. He does have some vision impairment.

From Murray's Foster Mom: Murray is quite a great little guy. He is blind in his left eye but seems to see fine from his right one. At some point in his short life he has been badly abused. I can't begin to tell you how scared he was when he came home. But little by little he is making great progress. He loves to cuddle up to me in bed and will not move all night once he gets close enough. He is now asking to be held on my lap and he has started playing with toys. He even jumped on the couch last night all by himself to get on my lap! It is wonderful to see that he is beginning to realize that people aren't all bad. Murray still has some trust issues, if I reach for him too fast he shies away but after some soft talking he will begin slowly come to me. He's a very sweet little guy that will need lots of love and hugs for the rest of his life, with no harsh words or actions.

Nala
Nala is a 5 year old fawn female. She is an owner surrender through no fault of her own. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations. She is heartworm negative. She appears to be in good health except for being overweight. We have placed her on a diet in order to get her weight down since that can be extremely dangerous for a pug in this Texas heat.

Nala is a very sweet girl who seems friendly and curious about her new surroundings. Though she is used to living with other dogs, she is an Alpha dog and prefers to be Top Dog. Therefore she would probably do best as an only dog.

Napoleon
Napoleon is a 7 year old fawn male. He was an owner surrender due to family changes and new owner allergies ? in other words, through no fault of his own! He is a healthy boy who is current on vaccinations and microchipped. He will be neutered prior to placement. He is heartworm negative and is on preventative.

Napoleon is a sweet boy who is very social and gets on well with other dogs as well as children. He just needs a place where somebody will give him cuddles and snuggles ? and an occasional treat!

Napoleon
Napoleon is an 8 year old fawn female. He is an owner surrender through no fault of his own. He is heartworm negative and appears healthy. He does have a bit of dry eye but nothing that couldn't be treated with daily moisturizing drops. He is already neutered and up to date on his vaccinations.

From Napoleon's foster: like to introduce you to Mr. Napoleon. He is about 8 years old and one of the sweetest gentlemen we've seen come through PugHearts. He has perfect house manners and loves other people and other dogs. He is spunky, a bit of a clown and has the perfect energy level! We believe that he has a "belly button"..meaning you touch the right spot on his back and he rolls over immediately for a belly rub! Napoleon does have dry eye, so will require eye drops, but other than that, he is healthy! I can not say enough how wonderful this guy is. If you are looking for an easy going guy to add to your home - Napoleon is the guy for you! He is quickly making fans of all who meet him!

Nellie
Nellie is a sweet fawn female. We estimate she is about 4-5 years old. She was found wandering the streets having recently given birth. As you can see by her photos, she still has milk. Once that has dried up she will be spayed. She has been brought up to date on her vaccinations and microchipped. She is housetrained and gets on well with other dogs.

She is a sweet, shy girl who seems ready to embrace her new life. Her foster mom describes her as a 'wiggleworm' and a 'true lap dog.' She also seems to really enjoy car rides. She is a dainty little lady who is looking for the perfect lap to sit on for the rest of her life.

ADOPTED

Newman
Newman is a black male. He comes to us as an owner surrender due to family illness. He is 7 years old. He is heartworm negative. He is suffering from some skin irritation - probably due to a food allergy, so we are trying to help clear that with a diet change. He does have a bad ear infection right now but that is being treated. He has been neutered, microchipped and is up to date on his vaccinations.

ADOPTED

Nicholas
Nicholas is a fawn male. We estimate he is between 4 to 6 years old. He comes to us from a local animal control facility. Poor Nicholas came to us suffering from an advanced case of sarcoptic mange. He also was also severely malnourished and moderately heartworm positive. His left eye also appears to have an old injury and both eyes are dry, though he definitely still has vision. He has some limitation in dark areas but overall sees fairly well. He has completed his heartworm treatment and is a healthy happy guys. His skin has cleared and his coat has filled back in beautifully.

Nicholas loves to sleep on the bed...attached to his person. He has learned to play and will romp in the yard with the other pugs. He is excited about life in general and love and attention specifically. Nicholas would love to be in a family with children and other dogs.

ADOPTED

Noel
Noel is a fawn male. He is an owner surrender and is a young guy at only about 1 year old. He is in good health and is heartworm negative. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

From Noel's foster: Noel is a very active 1 year old male pug. He loves to play and run around in the yard with his new friend. He is learning to "Sit" and is working on being house trained. He is very loveable and gives big wet kisses! He is good with children, handling, being hugged and kissed on by a toddler very well. He makes snuffle noises when he sniffs which makes me laugh. He loves to snuggle up to you when you sit to watch TV or read and enjoys sleeping in bed with our son. He is doing really well in the few weeks he's been our foster and would really enjoy being a permanent part of a family.

ADOPTED

Nora
Nora is a 3 year old fawn female. She is heartworm negative. She has severe vision problems - she has limited vision in her right eye and has had her left eye removed. She is in otherwise good health. She is current on her vaccinations and has been spayed.

Update from Nora's foster: Nora is not totally blind. She startles easily and of course her field of vision is cut in half, so she bumps into things and people often. She can see toys tossed to her, goes down the stairs and has even gone up a couple of times. With a lot of encouragement and reassurance I believe she can live like all other pugtatoes. Also helps to have another dog she can pick up cues from.

She is full of love & life and needs a person full of the same. She sleeps on her back, all twisted & contorted - too cute! I'm trying for pictures, but she wakes up every time I get close with the camera. When awake she is too fast and all I get are fawn blurs. She loves to give kisses and chew on your hair.

Special Notes

Nora is vision impaired.

He is a very calm and quiet boy who prefers to be in your lap and snuggle. He likes to play but does not want you out of his sight. He would probably do best in a home with a calm environment.

He is heartworm negative. He is in excellent health except for being a bit overweight. He is now on a diet to help him lose that extra weight before the summer heat comes.

Olivia
Olivia ia a fawn female. She is 7 years old. She has been spayed, microchipped and brought current on her vaccinations.

From Olivia's foster: Olivia is a big sweetie! She has an endearing personality. Olivia wants nothing more than to be near any family member, which includes another dog and cat. At first she was not sure what the cat was, but now they are close buddies. If you reach down to give her a little love she instantly lays on her back and wants her belly rubbed. Olivia is very smart and disciplined. You only need to tell her once and she listens. So far we have picked up on that she knows “stay” and “down” which is not used a lot due to her loyalty to please. She enjoys getting her mid-day sun and when she is ready she heads for the door. She is content to snuggle or lay on your feet; however her favorite place is the middle sofa cushion. Olivia will bring companionship, joy and love. Olivia is great with other animals and rarely barks unless she feels the need to protect. I might add it is a very polite bark.

ADOPTED

Ollie
Ollie is a 8 month old fawn male. He is in good health. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

From Ollie's foster: Ollie is very well behaved and just about housetrained. He gets along well with my pugs and loves to play with them. He is also independent and loves being outside. He carries his chewies and toys in and out of the house and we will find him amusing himself by tossing them repeatedly in the air. He doesn't get too far from me and tends to follow me around. He would do well either as an only dog or with others. We really enjoy him being with us.

Ozzy 2
Ozzy is fawn male. He is 2 years old. He was an owner surrender. He is in good health and is heartworm negative. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

From Ozzy's foster: He is very happy, sweet and loving. He sits next to me (touching) when I sit down (anywhere) and sleeps in the bed next to me. He follows me everywhere I go.

He gets along fine with my other pug as well as my Mom's Pomeranians. He still acts like a puppy and loves to play with stuffed animals (or anything he finds on the floor) as well as the other dogs. He goes potty every time I walk outside with him. As long he is taken out regularly, he has no accidents in the house. He barks when he hears something more than any of my other pugs ever did - he is a good little 'notifier'! He only barks when he hears or sees something out of place - not for no reason.

Patty
Patty is a 5 year old fawn female. She was an owner surrender. She is heartworm negative and has been spayed. She is current on her vaccinations.

From Patty's Foster: She is the PERFECT lady. I could not ask for any other qualities in a pug that Patty does not already have. Patty is a “laid back” girl. She is a slow mover with a main goal in life of…relaxing! She is not much for occasional exercise; and I truly mean occasional. She prefers to be in a quiet area, her favorite past time is sleeping. I have her little bed on the floor beside my bed, most of the time she beats me to my bedroom when it is time to lay it down! Her manners are impeccable! She never attempts to jump on my furniture or bed. She has not had a single “accident” in my place. I have not kenneled her, she has had free roam and access to any place in my apartment that her heart leads her. She pays my kitten no attention and even allows her to snuggle up to her, it’s very sweet. I have no doubt that she will make a GREAT pet for someone that wants a buddy to relax with. I honestly believe that she would be a perfect addition to an adult that just wants some companionship in their life.

ADOPTED

Paul
Paul is a 5 year old fawn male. He was found on a local highway without any tags or microchip. Obviously nobody has been looking after this poor fellow because he is severe heartworm positive. He will begin treatment shortly. He has been neutered, microchipped and brought current on his vaccinations.

Paul has had some old injury to his back which makes him "hop" when he runs to climb stairs. This does not stop him at all. He is one happy boy. He loves toys and loves to play and cuddle. He has an excellent demanor and does fine with other dogs. He is doing very well in his foster home and appears housebroken.

ADOPTED

Peaches
Peaches is an owner surrender due to family changes. Her prior owner was no longer able to care for her so she has been shuffled around quite a bit while looking for a forever home.

She is now in the care of one of our foster homes while we find her the perfect home. She is 1 1/2 years old. She has been microchipped, spayed and current on her medications. She has been kept outside quite a bit, so she is currently being treated for fleas and an upper respiratory infection. She is expected to make a full recovery and she has no other health issues. Thankfully she is heartworm negative.

She is housebroken. Due to her lack of continuity and being left outside so much does need a lot of attention. She is very timid when first meeting people, but once she gets to know you she is a cuddlebug! She needs someone who can show her the joys of being a pampered indoor puggy.

Pearl 2
Pearl is a 7 yr old owner surrender. She has been spayed and is current on her vaccinations. She is a small girl weighing right at 12 lbs. She has no ideas she is this small and thinks she should be referred to by everyone as Princess Pearl. She is a bit timid of people and will cower if you reach for her too fast. She came to us severe heartworm + but has now completed her treatment and is ready for her new home.

Pearl is an alpha female that would do best receiving a TON of attention from her person. She is a bed sleeper and loves to cuddle. When she wags her tail, her whole body wags. Pearl is looking for a forever home that will treat her like the princess she is.

ADOPTED

Pebbles also has a cataract on her right eye which shows up inside but for some reason doesn’t show up outside. She gets around great and is a very loving girl. Pebbles would do fine as an only child but does get along with all her foster brothers and sisters. She just seems to prefer the company of her human. She is learning what being inside is all about and loves to be petted and held.

Penelope
Penelope (aka Miss Penny) is a 2 year old fawn who was given up by her owners because they had a baby. She is a sweet, loving girl who needs a family who will commit to love her for a lifetime.

She is in good health, has been spayed and is current on all of her shots. She is housebroken and gets on well with other dogs.

She enjoys cuddling up on the sofa and going for car rides. As most pugs do, she has a tendency to breathe heavily and become overheated when excited. She would benefit from a diet - despite what she would tell you! As summer is approaching, she will also need an owner that understands how easily pugs become overheated in the warmer months.

Penelope is every inch a lady and is looking for an owner who will treat her as such. She is ready for her new family - a true 'forever' home!

Penny
Penelope aka Miss Penny is an adorable fawn female. She is just barely 1 year old. She has recently had a litter of puppies but will be spayed prior to adoption. She has been brought current on vaccinations and microchipped. She is in excellent health except for a skin infection. She is currently suffering from a case of Demodex mange (non-contagious) for which she is receiving medication and therapeutic baths. She will recovery fully and be a beautiful girl again.

Miss Penny is a very lively, happy girl. She is very sweet but also very curious and active. Basically she's your average 1 year old pug with a lot of puppy left in her! She gets on well with other dogs and would do well in a multi-dog household. She is a sweet baby who will make someone a fantastic pet.

Penny
Penny is a sweet fawn female. She was found wandering the streets alone. We estimate she is between 2 to 3 years old. She is a healthy girl. She is heartworm negative and has been spayed. She is now current on her vaccinations and has been microchipped.

Penny would be an excellent companion for someone who has no other dogs as she is a very Alpha type girl. She wants to be as close to her human as possible and would do very well with someone who wants a true lap dog.

From Penny's foster: One on one she is the sweetest pug on the face of the planet. She wants to be in your lap, pressed in as close as possible. She wants to sleep in bed on top of you (not next to you) and loves sleeping belly up. She is 100% housebroken. She is 100% housebroken.Cats are fun to chase IF they run. If they don't, what cat??? She LOVES LOVES LOVES toys. Soft toys are favorites, but bones and antlers are good, too. She found an old loofa dog that nobody has ever played with and carries it everywhere.

From Peter's foster: Peter is a sweet, loving little boy in need of love and patience. Though shy he loves attention and will never be far behind. He does very well with his foster siblings, two other dogs, one small and one big and two cats. He has also quickly made friends with all the neighborhood dogs. He is crate trained and almost accident free in the house. He has a need to protect his family and could be little guard dog but as his confidence grows he has become less wary of strangers.

ADOPTED

Petey
Petey is a sweet 3 year old fawn male. He was an owner surrender to a local shelter through no fault of his own. He has been brought up to date on all of his vaccinations and has been microchipped. He has not been neutered but will be prior to placement. Unfortunately he is suffering from a yeast infection to his skin right now, so his neuter will have to wait until his belly has cleared. He is housebroken but does have a tendency to mark ? something that should be easily corrected once he is neutered. He is on the appropriate medications for his yeast infection and it is not contagious. We expect him to rebound quickly now that he is getting the care he needs. He also has some pigmentation to his eyes, which is common in pugs. This means he has some diminished vision and needs drops to his eyes daily.

Petey is a bit timid at first. He likes to take his time to make sure you are trustworthy. But once he realizes he is among friends, he is friendly and sweet. In fact, he becomes quite cuddly and demands to sleep in a human bed at night. He?s also very playful.

ADOPTED

Peyton
Peyton us a fawn female. She was found wandering on a highway and was taken to a local Sheriff's county pound. We believe she is about 6 years old. She is missing her right eye but it does not seem to be a recent injury, though it looks like she has been out on her own for some time. She has been brought current on her vaccinations, microchipped and spayed.

Peyton is a playful litle girl. She absolutely loves to play with toys - she thinks shaking them is the best thing ever. She gets along wel with other dogs but seems more interested in playing with toys. She does like to snuggle up when she's sleepy but otherwise she is full of energy and on the go. She loves attention and is very friendly. She is completely housebroken and well behaved.

ADOPTED

Phoebe
Phoebe is an owner surrender Pug and she is currently 2 years old.

Phoebe is current on all shots and is also on Heartworm Preventative.

At the moment Phoebe is on antibiotics for a UTI (urinary tract infection) but that does not stop her playful personality from shining through. As Phoebe is prone to these she will need to remain on a special diet as a preventative. She is a very active dog who loves attention in the form of games and the throwing of soft toys for her to retrieve.

Phobe is very much a loving and playful Pug. She is well suited to multi-pug homes.

Pickle
Pickle is our fuzzy pug. While not a purebred pug, he has obvious pug characteristics and even being just part Pug makes him a keeper in our books. Pickle was rescued from an animal control shelter just one day away from being euthanized. Unfortunately he is heartworm positive. We do not know what happened to his eye but that does not seem to limit him.

He is estimated to be 4 years old and weighs approximately 30 lbs. He is now current on his shots and will be neutered before adoption.

He has a sweet, gentle disposition and seems to get on well with other dogs. He is very well behaved and housebroken. This little guy needs a loving home to shower him with kisses and cuddles and treat him to the pampered pug lifestyle he deserves.
