-Jd-PH ID: #1
JD is an adorable fawn male. He is an owner surrender due to his older owners not being able to care for him any longer. He is just over 6 years old. He has just been neutered, microchipped and brought up to date on his vaccinations.

JD has some vision problems which are common to pugs and for this he receives daily drops. This means his vision is impaired, especially in low-light situations but he gets around quite well. He also has a minor yeast infection to his skin but is on medication which will clear this shortly.

JD is a very timid, scared little guy who doesn't understand why he is homeless. We are sure that once he feels comfortable with his foster family we will start to see his true personality shine through. Hopefully he won't be in foster too long and his new family will get the joy of discovering JD's true colors!

AbbeyPH ID: #295
Abbey is a 4 year old black female. She came to us through a local shelter. She is mildly heartworm positive. She is in otherwise good health. She has been spayed, microchipped and is up to date on her vaccinations. Abbey is a very sweet girl, very timid and quiet.

From Abbey's Foster Mom: Abby is quite a sweet little girl. As you can see from her pictures, she is absolutely beautiful. Her coat is SOLID black and she has one of the prettiest faces I have seen on a pug (and I'm not a bit biased!) It's obvious that she has been someone's pet and I believe she was pampered. Abby talks to me when she wants something. The first time I heard her I wasn't sure what it was, I thought a kitten may have been stuck somewhere outside, but it was Abby. She has several little noises and they are all really cute. She does bark when the other dogs get started but she's never the one to start it. She is definitely a companion, she wants to be on my lap all the time. She has a tendency to be an alpha, she does like to have things her way. She has never been aggressive, she's just very determined. She likes to play with toys and she has impeccable house manners, she has not had one accident. She also likes to play with her pug brothers. I think she would do well in a home with another dog. She does well with large dogs (Great Dane) but has not been exposed to cats. She has a very loving and playful personality and will make some lucky family a wonderful new addition!

AbbyPH ID: #398
Abby is a 3 year old female.

We will post a full bio once Abby has settled into her foster home.

AbigailPH ID: #340
Abigail is a fawn female. We estimate she is around 5 years old. This poor little girl was found wandering the streets, following a homeless man for companionship. She has been treated for heartworm, spayed and brought up to date on her shots. Abby is very intelligent and has picked up commands very easily. She is a very happy pug and loves to play with her other puggy pals. She loves stuffed animals and playing fetch; loves to sit on your lap and give kisses. She is an alpha dog and does not get along with other females but does just fine with submissive males. I do not suggest her being around younger children, as she tends to play to rough - never trying to hurt them, but she is a rough-and-tumble kinda girl. Abby has spent her time on the streets and is now looking for a cozy home and permanent family that will pamper her.

Aiden is a 5 year old fawn male. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

AlexPH ID: #603
Alex is a fawn male. He is a young guy - probably about 1 year old. He is in good health. He is heartworm negative. He has been brought current on his vaccinations and microchipped. He will be neutered prior to placement.

As he comes to us from a shelter, so we don't know his story. But it looks like life hasn't been too kind to him so far. He has some small scars on his back at the shoulder; the vet said they look like they may be from burns. They are all healed and hopefully his fur will return soon. He's a small little guy at only 12 pounds and it doesn't look like he'll get too much bigger.

He's a lover - he loves to be held. His foster reports he presses his head into her shoulder like he's hugging her! He gets on well with his foster siblings and loves to play. He also is housetrained so he's all ready for his forever home to come claim him!

AlexisPH ID: #448
Alexis is a fawn female. She came to us from an out of state puppy mill where she was used for breeding. She is 6 years old. Poor Alexis was suffering from a painful left eye injury, hookworms and ringworms. She is also heartworm positive. We were unable to save her eye but now that it has been removed she is pain free. She has also been spayed so she never has to worry about having puppies again. Her hookworms and ringworms should be clear now that she's received medications and her heartworm treatment will begin shortly. This sweet little girl has had a pretty rough life so far but we've promised her that those days are far behind her and we will find somebody who will treat her like the cherished pet she should've always been.

AmandaPH ID: #490
Amanda is a fawn female. She comes to us from a local animal control facility. We believe she is just 2 years old. She is severe heartworm positive and will begin treatment shortly. She also is suffering from a case of hookworms that is being treated. She has been spayed and brought current on her vaccinations. She is a really sweet little girl that deserves a chance at a healthy, happy life.

AmeliaPH ID: #354
Amelia is a fawn female. She was thrown out of a car and a Good Samaritan who witnessed this rescued her and called us to help her. We believe she is about 5 years old. She looks like she has probably been used by a puppy mill. She has been negected as well as overbred. She is severe heartworm positive, suffering from whipworms & hookworms and has a severe skin irritation due to fleas. Despite everything that she has been through she is a sweet, gentle girl who loves to be held and be around people. She is content to be held an cuddled for long periods of time. She is being spayed and will begin heartworm treatment soon. She needs a special home that will show her what the life of a spoiled princess puggy can be like.

From Amelia's Foster: Amelia is so sweet. She loves her humans and must be in constant contact. She loves to have her tummy rubbed. She is also quite playful and plays chase with the other dogs. She gets on well with children and adults alike. She is currently working on being housetrained.

AnaPH ID: #4
Ana is a sweet little black female - though it's tough to tell with her current skin condition. She came to us through an animal cruelty case with the SPCA. She has now been released to us to get her well and find her a new home. We estimate she is between 3 to 4 years old, though everyone thinks she is a puppy when they first see her. She is a very petite little girl but she is definitely an adult dog. She has been brought up to date on her vaccinations and will be spayed prior to placement. Right now she is suffering from a severe case of demodectic mange. As many of you will remember, we have seen this before with Dougie and Mandi. With proper treatment she will turn into a beautiful girl.

Ana is a very friendly, loving little girl. Even though she's had a very rough time she still is a very happy, playful girl. We have promised her that we will find her the perfect home to make up for the lack of love & care that she's had. Someone will be very lucky to call her theirs.

AngelPH ID: #624
Angel is a fawn female. She comes to us from a local animal control facility. She is about 4 years old. She is moderate heartworm positive and has begun treatment. She is also suffering from severe dry eye, which is all too common in pugs. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations.

From Angel's foster: Angel is a young thing who is very playful with other dogs, but she sits calmly and snuggles, too. She is short, stocky, and has almost a totally black head (and if she starts answering to "zit", blame her foster dad). She rides great in the car as long as she is on a lap, where she lays calmly. Angel is crate trained and will seek out the crate or her bed when she's had enough stimulation. Her eyes make no tears, so she requires alternating ointment and drops 4-6x a day to preserve what vision is left. She tilts her head up to get them and appears to realize eye meds make her feel better. Her impaired sight does not affect her at all, except she is a little hesitant with stairs, but she's getting better all the time. She jumps on and off the couch with no problem. To see a video of her at play, check out PugHearts' facebook page and you will see just how cute she is. She goes into "terrorist" mode 2-3 times a day, and is certainly good for a laugh. She even gets the older, more sedate pugs in my pack to play with strategic butt bites, play bows, and spins. She would do better in a

home with at least one other dog to play with, and the fewer stairs the better.

AnnabellePH ID: #551
Annabelle is a 2 year old female. She was not well cared for in her puppyhood. Annabelle was either stepped on or sat on as a young girl. This caused a spinal injury that she will live with the rest of her life.

Annabelle's walk and stance are different to help her be able to join the crowd and keep up (if not set the pace).

Please do not feel badly for Annabelle. She runs, plays tug of war, wrestles and generally acts like a normal young pug. Annabelle can have a few issues due to this injury. She drags one of her back feet when she is tired, so this must be monitored for sores. She occasionally has issues with fecal incontinence. Annabelle is heartworm negative, already spayed and ready to go.

Do not overlook this bundle of energy due to her injury. Annabelle is a pleasure and will add joy and excitement to your world.

AnniePH ID: #5
Annie is a sweet fawn female. She comes to us from a local shelter where she had been picked up from the streets so we don't know her history. We estimate she is about 8 years old. She is in good health though she does require drops to one eye for 'dry eye' - her vision is just fine. She has been spayed, microchipped and brought up to date on her vaccinations. She also had an umbilical hernia removed but that won't cause any further issues.

Annie is a very calm, serene girl. She is very friendly and loves to be loved on, but she is not an excitable gal. She prefers to sit back and relax. She is housebroken and gets on well with other animals. If you are looking for a true lap dog/couch potato, Annie might well be your girl!

Annie 2PH ID: #360
Annie is a fawn female. She is 1 year old. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations. She does have a scarred right eye which does not seem to cause her any issues. She is in excellent health.

From Annie's Foster: Annie is a very energetic, 1 year old, female, fawn. She loves to play and does very well with other dogs, even ones that are twice her size. She is also a very good eater, as most pugs are! When she isn't running around playing, she likes to lay in her bed and chew raw hide bones. She has never displyed any other chewing habits, such as on shoes or anything else laying around. Her foster parents are still working on potty training, but she is already doing a great job! Annie loves people! She is very comfortable approaching new people and will often lay on a strangers lap to be a part of the group. Annie is very affectionate and loves to cuddle on the couch and give lots of kisses. We hardley ever hear her bark, and if she does it's at excitement to see us come home. Annie would make a great pet for anyone who has another small pet at home that likes to play.

ApplePH ID: #6
Who's the Apple of your eye? This darling boy is sure to be! Apple is a gorgeous fawn male. He's a bit of a youngster - just barely 1 year old. We're not sure what his story is, but he was found wandering alone with no tags or microchip. When his owners could not be found he was turned over to us to find him a home that wouldn't let him go. Apparently nobody had been looking after him because he has tested low heartworm positive. He will begin treatment immediately and should convert to negative within the next couple of months. He has not been neutered but he will be this week. He has been brought up to date on his vaccinations and microchipped.

Apple is pretty much what you would expect for a young guy his age. He still has quite a bit of puppy in him and is very playful. He's a sweetie who loves attention. He will probably need to learn some house manners but since he's so young that shouldn't take long. He seems very eager to please and friendly.

ArchiePH ID: #317
Archie is a black male. We believe he is about 5 years old. He was found wandering the streets alone with no collar or microchip. It's obvious that nobody has been looking after him as he is severe heartworm positive. He will begin aggressive treatment shortly. He has already been neutered and is now also current on his vaccinations and microchipped.

From Archie's Foster: Archie is one cool dude. He is very laid back and gets along with everyone in the house. His favorite things are (in this order) EATING, napping and taking long walks with the pack. He loves to sniff everything outside! Archie is usually the one lagging behind on our walks because he almost never takes his nose off the ground. He adorably barks in his sleep, and then wakes himself up. He has learned to sit and stay and will go into his crate on command. He has the cutest white markings on his chin, chest and front paws, as though he lay down in a puddle of white pain. He is a happy go lucky little guy and is great with children.

ArielPH ID: #484
Ariel is a fawn female. She is 3 years old. She comes to us from a local shelter. She is heartworm postive and will begin treatment shortly. She has been spayed, microchipped and brought current on her vaccinations.

From Ariel's foster: Ariel is a sweet, gentle little lady. She loves to snuggle and give pug kisses and play chase. She is completely house trained and is very well mannered. She would love to lay on your lap bundled up in a blanket all day.

Ashley 2PH ID: #577
Ashley is a fawn female. She is 2 years old and came to us as an owner surrender. She is in good health. She has been microchipped, spayed and is current on her vaccinations.

AsiaPH ID: #8
Asia is a sweet fawn female. She is an owner surrender due to family changes along with her 'sister' Hillary. She is already spayed and is current on her vaccinations. She is 6 years old and in good health except for being a bit too 'fluffy.' She is now on a diet to help her lose some weight before the heat of summer.

Asia is housebroken and is very used to being in a home with a doggie door. She does great with other dogs as well as kids. She is a playful, sweet girl who loves to cuddle.

AthenaPH ID: #833
Athena is a young fawn female who was found running down the street by a good Samaritan who caught her and called us. She is beautiful, a little shy of people, but LOVES playing with other dogs and toys. She hasn’t stopped chasing or being chased for at least 2 hours! Lots of puppy energy.

AtticusPH ID: #540
Atticus is a fawn pug mix. He mommy was a pug rescued by PugHearts shortly before his birth.

From Atticus' foster: Atticus is an adorable little male puppy that was born Jan. 16th. He seems to be the brainy one of the litter. He is the first to catch on to everything new. His parentage is a bit hazy. His mother is a pure pug but who knows about his papa? Though speculation is that his dad may have been a jack russell. He is such a sweet puppy and wants only to shower his puppy breath kisses on you. Who can resist that? He is very healthy and will be neutered before he is adopted out. He is looking for his forever home and would be an amazing fit for any family that doesn't mind the training of a new puppy. Can you give Atticus the home that he deserves?

AudreyPH ID: #376
Audrey is a beautiful fawn female. We estimate she is between 2 to 3 years old. Unfortunately she is heartworm positive and will be starting treatment soon. She is housebroken and gets on well with other dogs. Her foster Mom describes her as a "cuddler and a lover."

From Audrey's foster: There are not words to describe how beautiful, sweet and gentle Audrey is. She was aptly named, she could put on a pearl necklace and be Audrey Hepburn’s pampered pet in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. She acts like royalty. She will sit on my lap as long as I will sit still. Then she’s right on the couch when I sit back down waiting for me to cuddle her again. She is the perfect Pug! She is housetrained and she has never done anything wrong. She wasn’t sure about the eye drops at first but now she is fine with it. She LOVES to sleep in the bed! As you can probably tell, Audrey has stolen my heart and all it will take is one look from her beautiful eyes and she will steal yours also!

AuggiePH ID: #538
Auggie is a fawn pug mix. His mommy was a pug rescued by PugHearts shortly before his birth. He was born Jan. 16th, 2010. Auggie is in excellent health.

From Auggie (with a little help from his foster): "HI, my name is Auggie and I really am part pug-on my mom's side--and I am now ready for my forever family to come for me. I love everyone that I meet--girls more that guys--and would probably rather have a canine friend who wants to play than be alone. I think I would probably benefit from some training--or so my foster mom keeps telling me just before we sit down for some snuggling. I really love it when we snuggle on her bed for a short nap, but I am happy to sleep in my crate for the night if I must. I have a lot of energy 'cause I still a baby and really do need my play time. If there is anuthing dropped when 'mom' is cooking , I can usually beat her to it. I help that way.

When we are outside, I am very curious about everything, 'cause it's all new to me and I need to check it out to be sure it's ok. When my foster dad trimmed some bushes, I helped him move them around the yard--that was fun!! They just laughed abnd laughed with me. I like to hide under the bushes and pounce on my sister ou one of the other guys who come by and didn't know that I was there--then we run and chase and tumble together and have lots of fun.

My foster grandma uses a stick to walk with and I have learned to be careful around her and not get underfoot or play with her stick--it's kinda heavy anyway.

I am trying to learn how to be a good boy and my mom seems to love me a lot 'cause she is always telling me so and giving me hugs and kisses and belly rubs which I like. I now guess that the next thing I need is my forever family so that I can continue to grow into the best boy I can be. Sooo forever mom, come get me."

AvaPH ID: #542
Ava is a fawn pug mix. Her momma was a pug rescued by PugHearts shortly before her birth. She was born on January 16th. Ava is in excellent health.

From Ava (with a little help from her Foster): Hello, my name is Ava. :-) I was born on 1/16/2010 after my pug mommy was rescued by PugHearts only 3 days earlier. I may look like a terrier, but I don’t really act like one. I enjoy lounging on the couch w/ my foster mommy and sometimes I like to play w/ my doggie foster brothers. I am a little shy when I first meet new people, but I warm up quickly. I am a very good girl and hardly ever bark or chew on things (other than toys that is). I am house trained and am currently working on crate training. Life is good, but I would REALLY like to find my very own forever home.

AxelPH ID: #539
Axel is a fawn pug mix. He mommy was a pug rescued by PugHearts shortly before his birth.

From Axel's foster: Axel is the cutest little puppy that ever lived (I am a bit biased though)! He was born Jan. 16th. He is the most affectionate one of his litter. He Just wants to be held and given some loving. His parentage is a bit hazy. His mother is a pure pug but who knows about his papa? Though speculation is that his dad may have been a jack russell. He is such a ball of energy and would be great for a household with children along with any of his other littermates. He is very healthy and will be neutered before he is adopted out. He is looking for his forever home and would be an amazing fit for any family that doesn't mind the training of a new puppy. Can you give Axel the home that he deserves?

B.B.PH ID: #309
B.B. is a black male. He is only 1 year old. He is an owner surrender through no fault of his own. He is in good health and is heartworm negative. He is not neutered but will be prior to placement. Is is current on his vaccinations and has been microchipped. B.B. is a cutie, but he obviously has not been given much training. He is learning the rules of the house and how to walk on a lead. He will need to go to a home with lots of patience and structure, as training a puppy takes a lot of time and consistency.

B.J.PH ID: #412
B.J. is a black male. He came to us as an owner surrender at 6 years old.

Update: My name is Buddy. When you had me my name was B.J. I just wanted to let you know how well I am doing. I have been at my new home for about a year and a half. You could not have found me a better mommy and daddy. Plus now I have a brother and three sisters. I lover to play with my brother Mr. C. He is a 105 pound labradoodle, but he knows I am the boss. I bully him sometimes. Mommy fusses at me but then I lick her and she forgets why she is upset with me.

Every night I get brushed and loved on before bedtime. Then, I wait patiently at Mommy's side of the bed until she picks me up and then I curl up in her arms and go to sleep. I am not a morning dog like my sister Buffy or the Kitten. I prefer to snuggle with mommy and daddy. And, Mommy loves to have me snuggle with her. Although, I was originally gotten for Daddy, I know who feeds me so I pay extra attention to Mommy.

Also, my daddy has cancer so I know how important it is to make Mommy feel better. While Daddy is sick I am the man of the house. I make sure I keep Mommy safe.

Oh you would not even recognize me. I have gained weight and I have a full coat of thick black hair. Mommy says I am the most handsome Pug around. I still have trouble with allergies but our vet Dr. Pickle and my mommy make sure I am well taken care of on a regular basis. So, I guess I am a success story. Thank you to all who helped me find my real home. And, I hope that other lost pugs find their way to their "real" owners.

Love,

Buddy

BabyPH ID: #9
Baby is a 7 year old fawn female. She is up to date on her vaccinations and is heartworm negative. She has been microchipped as well. She will be spayed prior to adoption. Baby is an owner surrender due to family changes. She is housebroken and gets on well with other pugs. In fact, Baby would do best in a home with another dog as she doesn't like to be left alone.

Poor Baby came to us with severely neglected teeth. She underwent surgery to have some extracted and it was found that she had an infection that had intruded into her jawbone. She had extensive surgery to remove the infected sections but has recovered completely. She is in good health.

Do not be fooled by Baby's age - she is no shy, retiring grandma! This little lady just adores toys and attention! She's even become quite adept at stealing toys from her younger foster sister. And she enjoys the occasional tail-chasing too. But when the time comes, she's quick to jump up on the sofa and cuddle in front of the TV. She's quite a little lover-girl!

BaileyPH ID: #10
Bailey is a handsome fawn male. He is 3 years old. He was adopted from an animal control facility by someone who was then unable to keep him. He has been microchipped, is up to date on his vaccinations and recently neutered. He is heartworm negative and on preventative.

Bailey is a very playful boy who would enjoy being around other dogs and children. He does have an eye condition, keratitis pigmentosa, which means he has chronic dry eyes and some limitations to his vision. This is a very common condition in pugs due to their protruding eyes. However, with daily drops he should have improvement. He is otherwise healthy.

Bailey is a sweetheart of a boy who needs a family who doesn't mind giving him eyedrops twice a day and who is ready to handle this bundle of energy. Though he likes to be petted, it does not appear that anybody has spent much cuddle-time with Bailey. So he will also need a family that can teach him how important cuddling is to a pug!

Bailey 2PH ID: #372
Bailey is a handsome 4 year old fawn male. He is in good health and is heartworm negative. He does have some current skin itchiness but we believe that is from his fleas which we have cleared. He has been neutered and is current on his vaccinations. He is a big boy - he currently weighs 24 lbs - but is not overweight. He's just a big guy.

He is full of energy and gets on well with other dogs. He is housetrained and does not mark. He knows his name and follows basic commands like Sit and Come. He seems to be a very well behaved fellow who is looking for a home to be a part of.

Bailey 3PH ID: #546
Bailey is a black female. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations.

From Bailey's foster: Bailey is a very unique pug, not just in the way she looks but her personality pretty special too. Firstly, she is very nimble and limber and can jump very high onto things and land on her feet like a cat. This unique skill works to Bailey's advantage as she can always jump up to where you are and be close to you. VERY close! And she gives lots of pug kisses. Secondly, Bailey is a lady. In fact, she's so delicate that she even lifts one of her back legs to pee. Since Bailey is a bit of a prima-donna, she would do best in a home where she is the only dog so she can be the center of attention at all times. She gets along OK with other dogs, but she's a bit of an instigator and drama queen.

BanditPH ID: #11
Bandit is an absolutely gorgeous fawn male. He is 2 years old and comes to us as an owner surrender. His original owner passed away and he has not found the right home since. Unfortunately in all the shuffling around, somebody neglected to keep Bandit on his heartworm preventative. His is now heartworm positive and will be starting treatment immediately. He is in otherwise good health except for being a bit thin. He has been brought up on date on his vaccinations and microchipped. He will be neutered prior to placement.

Bandit is a very sweet, gentle boy who obviously had a loving owner at one time. He is very well behaved and even knows commands like 'sit!' But it looks like since he lost his owner people have not been too kind to him. Bandit is a very timid little guy who needs to be loved and cuddled. He would not do well in a home with lots of other animals or small children due to the noise and excitement level. This little guy needs a place to chill out and a safe, loving environment in which we know he will thrive and come out of his shell.

Bandit 2PH ID: #276
Bandit is a 2 year old fawn male. He is an owner surrender. He is heartworm negative and in good health. He has been neutered, microchipped and current on his vaccinations.

From Bandit's Foster: Bandit is a sweet 2 year old male. He loves to cuddle. He is very playful gets along well with other dogs. He loves being with people. Bandit loves to follow you around and he is learning how much fun it is to play with toys.

BarbiePH ID: #640
Barbie is a black female. She is 5 years old and an owner surrender. She is in good health; she is heartowm negative. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations.

BarnabyPH ID: #12
Barnaby is an adorable fawn male. He comes to us from a local shelter. We estimate he is about 10 years old. He has been brought current on his vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. He also had a teeth cleaning which obviously has not been done in a long time as he needed several teeth pulled due to cavities. His remaining teeth are in good shape and he shouldn't have any further problems if looked after properly. He also has the "dry eye" we see so much in pugs that have been outside for a long time. This means his eyes don't produce enough lubrication and he will need drops daily from here on out.

Update from his foster: Hi, my name is Barnaby and my foster mom says I am the sweetest pug (she’s smart). I get along well with all kinds of dogs. I am about 10 years old and well mannered because I don’t jump up on the furniture or pull at my leash on my walks. However I can get upset if I am left in a crate and I will protest loudly. I really do better if you use a baby gate and leave me in one of the rooms. I am a talker, and will greet you when you get home.. I will follow you everywhere all day long and at night I will snuggle up to you in your bed, and I barely snore at all. I hope I find a home with someone who is at home with me a lot, cause I love to be around my people.

BarneyPH ID: #785
Barney is a fawn male. He is 4 years old and an owner surrender. He is in good health; he is heartworm negative. He has been neutered.

From Barney's Mom: Barney is an intense little fellow with vivacious curiosity and expressive personality. His energy and gusto bring to mind John Travolta on the dance floor in Saturday Night Fever. He has a lot of spunk and adds random excitement to my house. There's a lot to love about Barney, he is conversational and actually attempts to answer questions when asked and offer constructive criticism (when not asked). He gets a funny look in his eye when he's formulating his response, his mouth forms an "O' and the answer is delivered with absolute conviction.

He is a beautiful boy with a super soft coat and deep wrinkles on his forehead. He is heart worm negative, neutered, and healthy. He also

appears to be allergy-free, which is a rare gift for pugs. His only medical problem is that his hip causes him a little discomfort, he will have to take pain medications for the rest of his life. He is mostly potty-trained and has marking tendencies which we are working on. Once his manners are in place, he will be quite the super-star pug.

BaxterPH ID: #664
Baxter is a fawn male. He comes to us from an animal control facility. We believe he is about 6 years old. He appears to be in good health; he is heartworm negative. He has been neutered, microchipped and brought current on his vaccinations.

From Baxter's foster: Baxter is a dainty pug weighing in at 18 pounds. He arrived at our house with a bad cold. But once he was feeling better a very different and cool dog came out. Baxter loves to watch videos on Youtube. He also finds Animal Planet interesting and will paw at the screen. This just shows how smart he is. He likes soft squeaky toys and rawhides or hooves. He lives well with the 5 other dogs except if one tries to take a toy from him. Then he will do a quick flare up. He does not like to share. This sweet little dog is potty-trained and learned the dog door within the first day so he is no longer crated. He loves to go on walks, and as soon as I sit down he is in my lap and goes to sleep. He currently is allowed to sleep on the bed. He snuggles up close and that is it for the night. Baxter would do well either as an only dog or with another as long as the other dog isn't too pushy. He is not pushy with the other dogs. He prefers to concentrate on the humans in the household. He is not a yappy dog. Instead he gets attention with a small whimper. There is a lot to this little dog. He makes a very nice companion.

Bea PH ID: #328
Bea is a gorgeous senior fawn female. We estimate she is about 10-12 years old. She comes to us from a local shelter so we don't know her background. However, it looks like she hasn't been anybody's pet for a while. Thankfully she is heartworm negative but her nails were so overgrown that they had grown into the pads of her feet. She has one "small" eye that never developed - probably has been that way all her life. She sees fine with the other one and probably doesn't know her vision is different than other dogs. She has a bit of a skin issue right now as she seems to have a flea allergy. And living on the streets wouldn't help that at all. But now that she's in our care that should clear. She is a sweetheart of a girl that deserves to be somebody's pampered pet.

BeauPH ID: #236
Beau is a sweet fawn male. He is 9 years old and comes to us from a puppy mill where he has been used for breeding. He has now been neutered so he can relax and enjoy his "retirement." He is current on his vaccinations and has been microchipped. He is in excellent health.

Beau is a cuddler. He loves nothing better than to snuggle up with a human and keep their lap warm. He is a sweet, gentle fellow who has a lot of time to make up for. Now that he knows what it's like to be a pampered pet and not a "working" dog, he is ready to become your new best friend.

BeauPH ID: #782
Beau is a fawn male. He is 7 years old and is an owner surrender. He is in good health; he is heartworm negative. He is current on his vaccinations, neutered and microchipped.

From Beau's foster: This sweet little man is Beau. He is a fawn male, about 7 years old, and is an owner surrender. He is in good health, heartworm negative, current on his vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. Beau came to us when his elderly owner sadly passed away. He is delightfully sweet and extremely adorable as you can see from his pictures. Beau gets along great with kids, other dogs, and isn’t too worried about the cat laying about the house. He only gets upset with the other dogs in the house when they are chewing on something he wants, so he’ll stand there and barks at them, but he will get a little growly and upset if one of the dogs gets to close while he is enjoying a nice deer antler or beef tendon. I just make sure everyone has something to occupy themselves with so there are no unhappy pups.

Beau loves to snuggle up next to you on the couch or bed. He doesn’t have to be on top of you, but he will happily keep your leg warm. He is a great companion. He will follow you wherever you go in the house, he doesn’t try to go out the front door when you open it, and he learns your habits quickly. As soon as I lean down to put on his harness, he stands up for me on his back legs and offers his front paws. He also does this when you lean down to pick him up. Such a cutie! When I come home from work he runs over and sits down until I get everything put away. Then he’s ready for his hello scratches and kisses.

Part of Beau’s adorable charm is his little tongue that sticks out on the side at all times. Pug kisses are awesome, but sideways kisses from Beau are the BEST! He is a very laid back boy who just wants to hang out with the family. He is house trained and knows how to use a dogie door, though he can be a little lazy about using it sometimes. When you tell him “crate” he walks in a circle around the living room before going in, but I’ve found if you have a treat ready for him he’ll spin a couple of times and run right in. He does not have to be kenneled, as he’s past the phase of chewing things he shouldn’t and doesn’t have an issue with marking or having accidents in the house. Beau would make a great addition to any family looking for a low energy lovable pug.

BeaudreaxPH ID: #13
Boudreaux is a gorgeous 2 1/2 year old fawn male. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on all of his vaccinations. He has no health issues.

Boudreaux is an absolute sweetheart. He is very even-tempered and is a 'shadow' following you from room to room, lying down quietly beside you. He also enjoys playing with toys. He gets along very well with other dogs, though he tends to be a bit timid when with a large group. He is definitely not an Alpha dog. He gets along well with cats too as well as older children.

He is housebroken and knows how to use a doggie door. He rides very well in cars and walks well on a lead. He is learning some basic commands but already comes when called. Boudreaux is a wonderful dog who will make someone a fantastic companion. So if you like kisses and having a soft little furball sleep on your pillow at night, Boudreaux might just be the puggie you've been looking for!

BeauregardPH ID: #14
Beauregard was rescued from a local shelter, so his history is unknown. He is estimated to be about 8 years old, which means he has just entered middle age! He is a beautiful dark fawn pug with a touch of distinguished grey around his face.

Beauregard has recently been neutered and had several teeth pulled. He is in excellent health. He is current on all vaccinations and has been microchipped.

He is a sweet, gentle soul who loves to be cuddled. He still has a bit of playfulness in him and gets along well with other dogs. If you're looking for a calm, serene companion then Beau is for you.

It does not appear that Beau has been the pampered indoor pet he should have been, and therefore he has needed some housetraining. However, he does respond well to commands and seems eager to please.

Please consider a mature pug like Beau - there is no more rewarding or fulfilling feeling than knowing you have given an older pug a new lease on life.

BeccaPH ID: #641
Becca is a fawn female. She is just 1 year old. She is an owner surrender. She is heartworm negative and already spayed. She is current on her vaccinations.

BellaPH ID: #15
Bella is a sweet black female who was found on the streets by a good samaritan who called us to come rescue her. She is estimated to be between 3 to 4 years old.

As she was a stray, we do not know her history. She is a sweet, timid soul who has lost her faith in humans. She has been brought up to date on her vaccinations and has been microchipped and spayed.

For those of you who have been following Bella's story, you will notice the huge difference in her appearance in these updated photos. Poor Bella was suffering from a severe skin condition when she came to us. She has now finished her treatments and as you can tell she is now the beautiful puggy we alway knew she would be!

Bella is a cuddly sweetheart who needs someone who will shower her with affection and love her for the beautiful pug she is inside and (now) outside.

Bella 2PH ID: #16
Bella is a beautiful fawn female. She is 3 1/2 years old and in excellent health. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on all of her vaccinations.

Bella is an owner surrender. Her family travels quite a bit and liked to take her on trips with them, but Bella does not do very well on car trips. She has a bit of a nervous tummy and had problems every time she went on trips. So, her owners thought Bella would be better off with someone who was a 'homebody' like her. She's a very sweet girl who is housebroken and gets along very well with other dogs. But she just wants to hang out at home. So now we need to find her that new home and that new owner that wants to be a 'homebody' with her.

Bella 3PH ID: #288
Bella is a fawn female who we estimate to be 5 or 6 years old. She has been brought current on his vaccinations, microchipped and spayed. She is in good health.

From Bella's foster: It is apparent that she had been previously cared for as she is in good health (heart worm negative) and well groomed. Most of the time she is all lady. However, she can be ill-tempered to the other male dogs in the house. She is house broken. She loves to sit by your side or on your lap, and follow her foster parents around. She knows how to play with toys, but is learning how to play with other dogs. She can be somewhat aggressive when playing with people. She play bites but does not hurt you, and she growls and shows her teeth when playing, which we think is her way of playing. We would not recommend her for a family with young children. She has tended to show more affection to her male foster parent. She would be especially good for a single dog home.

Bella 4PH ID: #581
Bella is a fawn female. She is 5 years old and an owner surrender through no fault of her own. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations.

From Bella (with a little help from her foster mom): Well do I have a story to tell you! This nasty economy caused the only human parents I have known in my 5 years to lose one of their jobs, and they had to move to a townhome where pets were not allowed. So, they loved me so much that they found Pughearts, through this thing they call....the internet??? Anyway, they sent an email to some people who then sent emails out to THEIR people and found my foster mom. I miss my family, but they loved me so much, that I come with a starter kit for my new family, kind of like an incentive package :)

So here is my list of attributes: Female (spayed), 5yrs old (in myprime), HW negative (of course!), house trained (is there any other way?), a bag of toys & goodies & collar & leash & food (hellooooo, no startup costs!), petite, height & weight proportionate, fresh manicure, respond to simple commands, and a ZEST for life! I can spin circles in quick succession, I can run and play with other dogs, large or small, with children, and don't even mind cats! I bark at anyone that dares to knock on my door, and tell you in no uncertain terms when I am hungry, or need to use the facilities....I like to talk (helloooo! I'm a GIRL!). In the interest of full disclosure, I must admit that I have a bit of itchy skin from, dare I say it.......fleas! But they are gone now and my skin is on the mend. As you can see from my portfolio of head shots, I only have one eye, but have no problem seeing perfectly! Please consider the entire package, but know that I will love you like you've never known if you adopt me for life.............I'm WAITING!!!! So pick up the phone already, I have another mani/pedi appt. to get to!

BelladonnaPH ID: #365
Belladonna is a gorgeous fawn female. She is a one year old girl who was turned into a shelter by her family. We cannot imagine why. She is beautiful, hyper and everything a 1 year old female should be. She will be seen by our vet this week for her spay and to update her vaccinations. She appears to be very healthy.

She is doing great with multiple dogs and is scared of nothing. She is smaller and thinks chase is the best game ever. Belladonna would prefer a house with lots of activity and at least one other dog to keep her company (and amused.)

BellePH ID: #17
Belle is an 8 year old fawn female. She is 8 years old. She is an owner surrender due to family changes. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on vaccinations. She is heartworm negative. She is in very good shape but does suffer from 'dry eye' that is so common in pugs and therefore needs daily drops to her eyes. She does have vision loss due to this condition.

Belle is a sweet girl that is used to living with children. She also gets on very well with other dogs.

From Belle's foster: Belle has finally got to the point that she fully trust us. We believe that she had a hard time with all the changes in her life, she really did not feel comfortable about pushing the envelope. Now, she is in charge of our house and dictates policy around here. She went to the vet last Saturday and she is in good health and she is current with all her shots and treatments. We have let her gain a few pounds, so we are in the process of cutting back on her two meals and treats. She weights 25 pounds and the vet wants her back around 20 pounds. She is not happy about the reduction in her treats after her comes in from using the bathroom.

BenPH ID: #408
Ben is a fawn male. He comes to us from a shelter so we don't know his history. He is between 4 to 5 years old. He is in pretty good health except for a case of mange which is being treated. He is heartworm negative. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

From Ben's foster: He is one cool puggie. The perfect balance of snuggle bunny and play companion. He wags his whole body and follows you around the house making "C" curves in alternating directions with his body. He's housebroken and does not mark. He's a little underweight for his size which is kind of tall with large-boned legs, and his coat is kind of rough; but with the way he loves to eat that won't last long. He fit in seamlessly with our pack, playing with the playful ones and deferring to the dominant members. My alpha bitch is in love (as are we), and she washes his face and ears and play bows to him. He loves rawhide chewies, and will calmly sit on your lap, by your side, or cuddled next to you in the bed (his favorite spot.) He rarely barks or licks, but does have an array of whimpers and grunts - especially when wrestling with human or dog. This guy would make a perfect companion for anyone.

BennyPH ID: #580
Benny is a fawn male. He is only 1 year old. He was an owner surrender. He came to us with severe bladder stones. He has had surgery to clear the blockage. He is now on a special diet to prevent further stone formation and he will need to remain on that diet for the rest of his life. He is in otherwise good health. He is heartworm negative. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

From Benny's foster: Benny is a cute loving puppy. He loves to play with his sisters and brothers. He loves toys and will play fetch with you. He knows commands such as Sit, Lay and Shake paws. He is just looking for a family that will love him.

BethPH ID: #313
Beth is a gorgeous black female. She is approximately 3 years old. This poor little girl has been through a lot lately. She came to us after being hit by a car. She had fractured her pelvis in 3 places and required crate rest to heal. We are happy to report that she has made a full recovery and is now up and about with no residual effects. She is missing her right eye but that must've happened quite a long time ago. She is heartworm negative, spayed and otherwise healthy.

BeverlyPH ID: #19
Beverly is a sweet fawn female. We estimate she is about 5 years old. She was found abandoned in a parking lot without any tags or microchip. She has been spayed, microchipped and is now current on her vaccinations. Unfortunately Miss Beverly also was suffering from a massive, painful bladder stone. She has had surgery to remove the stone and is in recovery. Right now she has issues with bladder control, but that is to be expected and she should regain control now that her bladder is free of stones. She will need a follow-up appointment for a teeth cleaning but otherwise will not need any further medical care except routine visits.

Beverly is a bit of a couch potato. She is very friendly and loving - definitely not an Alpha dog. She is getting used to being in a house and is learning about housetraining rules. This little girl is ready to find her new family who will keep her healthy and safe.

BexarPH ID: #796
Bexar (pronounced Bear) was the most pitiful looking pug that I had seen in quite some time, and I couldn’t even hold him….I don’t mess with Sarcoptic Mange. But it was love at first sight when our eyes met and I knew he was going to be a Heart Pug (he will steal a little part of my heart when he leaves). When he received his last shot I gathered him up and away we went to Katy.

Bexar has proven to be one of the sweetest, most loving fosters. He has some vision issues but his face is near the top of the cutest I have ever seen. He LOVES to be held and cuddled. His hair is really growing in quickly but when he first came home he felt like suede when I touched him. He just lays back in my arms with his head on my shoulder and cuddles, and he will sneak in a kiss here and there. I was really surprised to discover that he is housetrained. He hasn’t had one accident since he came in the door! Over the last week he has started to interact with the other fosters and I am trying convince him that barking and playing don’t have to be done together. He just gets so excited when he’s playing with Raisin that he loses control of his barker (and so does Raisin). He’s really smart and he seems to be catching on pretty fast.

As I said he has some vision issues and will require eye drops to keep his eyes moist. He isn’t blind but he has some pigmentation on his eyes so he doesn’t see crystal clear, he doesn’t have any issues getting around and never runs into anything. He also has heartworms and will require treatment when the medication is available again. I can’t begin to express what a wonderful pug Bexar is! However he doesn’t answer to Bexar, he comes to Mama’s Beautiful Baby Bexar. I do love this little guy and anyone that meets him will lose their heart just like I did. He’s awesome and will make someone’s life perfect!!!

BiancaPH ID: #708
Bianca is a fawn female. She comes to us from a local animal control facility. She is approximately 7 years old. She is in good health except for having severe dry eye. This has left her with diminished vision and she will require daily drops to keep her comfortable. She is heartworm negative. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations.

From Bianca's foster: In spite of her diminished vision and hearing, Bianca has thrived since joining our home. She gets around the yard and house amazingly well and has no problem using a doggy door. She loves to cuddle, give sugars and chew on nubby bones. She is fine around other dogs, but prefers to interact with humans. Don’t overlook this little love hound!

Big JohnPH ID: #20
Big John is an adorable black male. He was an owner surrender through no fault of his own he is 2 1/2 years old. He has tested mildly heartworm positive but is in otherwise excellent health. He has been neutered. He is current on his vaccinations and has been microchipped.

Big John is a very big boy - he weighs 34 pounds! And believe it or not, he is not a fat Pug! Nope, this boy is truly Big Boned. He's a sweetheart of a boy who still thinks he's a lap dog. Unfortunately it doesn't seem that he has been treated like one. He doesn't understand that it's okay to get up on the sofa even though he really wants to cuddle. He also isn't currently housetrained but he is working on it. He doesn't seem to understand the concept of playing with other dogs either. He gets along with them just fine, but just doesn't know how to play yet. He also gets on very well with children. This gentle giant is going to make someone a fantastic pet once he learns the ins and outs of being and inside dog.

BillyPH ID: #589
Billy is a fawn male. He is 3 years old. He comes to us from a local kill shelter. He's a little guy, only 15 lbs, very cute and lovey. He is heartworm positive and will begin treatment shortly.

BingoPH ID: #510
Bingo is a black male. He was found wandering the streets with no tags or microchip. We believe he is about 2 years old. He is in excellent health. He is heartworm negative and has been neutered. He is current on his vaccinations and has been microchipped. As you can see, he is a handsome, happy guy! He is very sweet and loves to play with small and big dogs.

BlakePH ID: #443
Blake is a fawn male. He is 3 years old. He is a bog boy at 34 pounds so he needs to lose some weight. He is severe heartworm positive and will begin treatment shortly. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

From Blake's Foster: Blake is such an handsome big boy. He may weigh 42 pounds but he acts like a big baby! Because of his weight he is on a strict diet of dog food and green beans. He is great with children and other animals and loves being held and giving kisses. He has to wear a belt around him to keep him from marking around the house, but he has almost completly dropped that habit. He loves being scratched behind the ears and is currently working on learning how to sit. Blake would fit in well with a family with other animals, or as an only dog. The only thing he wants is love, attention, and treats! Blake is such a sweet boy and has a great big heart!

BlossomPH ID: #684
Blossom is a black female. We estimate she is about 10 years old. She is heartworm negative. She has some dry eye and a little arthritis, but is SO HAPPY with everything! Who could resist this face?

BluPH ID: #21
Say hello to Blu. He is an 8 year old fawn male. This cutie came to us from a local shelter, so we do not know his history. However, we do know that nobody has been looking after him. He has bad hips and degenerative discs in his spine, though that does not slow him down. He has poor vision and a severe entropion eyelid (which can be corrected with surgery.) He has been neutered, microchipped and brought up to date on his vaccinations as well as having some dental work.

UPDATE from Blu's foster Mom:

Blu- A charmer, a jazz singer and a poet - what more can you ask for in a senior pug man ? He enjoys outdoors for very short periods and spends most of his time dreaming about .... what do pugs dream about? A chunk a pug ( ok he eats anything that looks edible) - he is currently watching exercise cable TV hoping that he gets in shape by osmosis. IF it works we will let you know................

BobbyPH ID: #294
There are not words to describe how truly wonderful Bobby is. He is a beautiful, happy, healthy six month old puppy full of life and with an abundance of love to give some very special human. It just so happens he was born without his sight, but as the saying goes "you don't miss what you've never had" and Bobby is a perfect example of this. He has no idea he should be able to see. After I had him for a few days I thought we should change his name to Radar, because he definitely has something very close! He very seldom even comes close to bumping into things, it's like he can feel it there. I have another blind dog that had to get use to the house before he was able to navigate without incident, but Bobby just started running around like he had lived at the house for months. He was so skinny when we got him (6 pounds) that he was frail, I was quite careful when picking him up so I didn't hurt him. Well, Bobby has a HUGE appetite and he no longer has bones sticking out everywhere! Since he has started gaining weight he doesn't sleep as much and is playing like a happy puppy. I have to let him wear himself out and then try to hold him for my cuddles (I need his cuddles). The first time I saw him actually playing with a toy made me cry with joy!

He has also started playing with the other dogs in true puppy fashion. I can't begin to tell you how easy it is to love this little guy. He doesn't have a handicap...he's just the most special foster I have ever had! All he needs is a chance from some special person to show you how great he is! Please be that someone special for Bobby!

BogartPH ID: #374
Bogart is a gorgeous fawn male. He comes to us from a local shelter so we don't know his history. We estimate he is about 2 years old. He is being neutered and brought current on his vaccinations. Bogart's foster reports that he "is a great dog and really really coming into the puggie he always should have been from the day he was born."

BogiePH ID: #335
Bogie is a fawn male. He is an owner surrender through no fault of his own. He is 4 years old. Bogie is a well behaved little gentleman. He is housebroken and knows basic commands. He gets on well with his foster fur-siblings but doesn't appear to be used to being around other animals. Group play is something he is learning. He does love to play with toys though.

BondPH ID: #301
Bond, James Bond. Fawn male. License to run around like a puppy and steal your heart.

BongoPH ID: #666
Bongo is a fawn male. He was found wandering the streets with no tags or microchip. We believe he is about 1-2 years old. He is moderately heartworm positive and will begin treatment shortly. He has been neutered, microchipped and brought current on his vaccinations.

From Bongo's foster: Bongo came to PugHearts from a nice lady who rescued him and BeBe because they were following her through a local park. Bongo is a great boy who is around a year old. He is heartworm positive and will go through the treatment to get rid of the nasty heartworms. He is full of personality and wrinkles. He is housebroken (altho he had a few marking accidents when he first came to his fosters house..I think because they had another boy Pug, and he felt he needed to show his presence). The marking ended after day 1. Bongo's favorite activities are loving his humans, playing and being a handsome boy. Bongo uses a doggy door and wold love to keep you warm on these cold fall nights. Please consider adding Bongo to your family. He has lots of love to give.

BonniePH ID: #22
Bonnie is a 6 year old fawn female. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on all of her vaccinations. She is an owner surrender due to family changes.

Bonnie has lost all sight in her left eye due to an injury some years ago. She also has an ulceration to her right eye and has suffered some vision loss in that eye. She still has some vision and is able to get around very well.

At first glance she looks as though she would be a couch potato - but don't believe it! She thoroughly enjoys walks and running around the park. She's a very active, vibrant girl who demands your attention. She is no wallflower!

Bonnie is not yet housebroken but she is learning and does know how to use a doggie door. She gets along very well with children and other dogs.

Bonnie 2PH ID: #314
Bonnie is a 5 year old fawn female. She appears to have been used for breeding in her past life but those days are far behind her now! She has now been spayed. Unfortunately she is heartworm positive and is now starting treatment. She is in otherwise good health. She is now current on her vaccinations and microchipped.

From Bonnie's Foster: Bonnie is one fun little dog. She loves human touch because she didn't have very much of that when she was used as a breeder. She is addicted to the internet, and gets very animated whether she is looking at images or watching a video on Youtube. Her special time each day is sitting in my lap at the computer. she also hides her chew toys all over the house, and seems to remember where they all are.

Bonnie is beautifully potty-trained. She does have access to a doggy door, and uses it freely. She is crated at night only because she needs to be reminded of her place in the pack. Bonnie has an Alpha female side to her, and when she first arrived at our home she tried to work her way up the pecking order within our pack of 3 dogs by starting some fights. She is doing well now but it is important to establish the pecking order and keep the structure and routines in tact for her. She responds to well-timed verbal correctons. Bonnie would probably do very well as an only dog or one of 2 dogs where she would be in the number one position, and be paired with a male dog. She loves to go on walks, and is starting to play with stuffed toys. But by far her favorite items are chew toys. AND the INTERNET. She is a hoot

BooPH ID: #23
Boo is a recent transfer from Homeward Bound Pugs in OK.

Boo was abandoned in a home for two weeks with his brother Vincent. They had little or no food or water. A nice lady found out about them and called the police.

Boo had to spend five days in the shelter before he could be turned over to rescue.

Boo looks pretty rough right now and had erlichia from ticks. With some good food and lots of love, he should be looking very handsome in a few weeks. He has lots of hair loss from a flea infestation and is very underweight right now. Despite his ordeal, he is such a happy boy. His tail never stops wagging and he just loves attention. We think Boo if between four and six years old.

Boo is hoping his forever home will soon find him and give him the life he deserves. He is a good boy and gets along great with all the other puggies in his foster home.

BorisPH ID: #611
Boris is a fawn male. He was found wandering the streets with no tags or microchip. He is in fair health; he is severe heartworm positive and will begin treatment shortly. He has been neutered, microchipped and brought current on his vaccinations.

From Boris' foster: Boris is one cool dude. He is a lay back & chill, sleep-in in the morning kind of guy. Sometimes he likes to just hang out on a chair by himself, others he wants to lay right next to you, cuddling. He is an excellent companion; he likes to hang out where you are. For someone looking for a dog ready to just make himself at home and chill, Boris is the dog for you.

BowiePH ID: #410
Bowie is a black male. He is 3 years old. He is an owner surrender through no fault of his own. He is in good health except for being a bit overweight. He is heartworm negative. He is neutered, microchipped and current on his vaccinations.

From Bowie (with a little help from his foster): Hi! I'm Bowie! I've been told that I need to tell you a little bit about myself. So, let me start off with the fact that "little" is not a term that is normally used to describe me! I'm a big guy, with a big personality! I currently weigh about 32 lbs, but that's down a bit from when I first came to PugHearts. My foster mom tells me that we still have a few more pounds to go - but that I shouldn't feel badly because I'm just a big pug in general. She tells me how handsome I am and that she couldn't love me any more any other way. I'm on a diet, and so far, it hasn't been too bad. She also tells me that I remind her of a bear cub sometimes - maybe that's because I'm so cuddly. I love to cuddle with her or my foster dad on the couch when they watch tv or read. Hmm..what else can I tell you? Oh, I'm about 3 or 4 years old, I'm healthy and I go potty outside! (She says that's a real plus!). I like the other dogs in my foster home too. I'm a pretty friendly and social kinda guy. I like to play sometimes, but mostly I like to relax or chew on a good bone. I certainly don't mean to brag - but my foster mom says I'm quite a catch!

BoydPH ID: #637
Gus (originally Boyd, but he reminds me for some reason of the character Gus from the tv show Psych) is a 5 year old fawn pug male who fully embraces his pugness through his silly noises, his snuggling with me and his new brother, Sam (who you can see behind Gus), and his ability to charm practically anyone. He was an owner surrender due to financial reasons, and, while I feel sorry that his original people couldn't keep him, I could not be more happy to be his new momma. In terms of sound effects, he is more like a French bulldog in frequency and volume than a typical pug, and, to prove his individuality, he is more likely to make snoring noises while awake than asleep. He is my sweet, silly, young pug man.

BozPH ID: #642
Boz is a fawn male. He is 4 years old and an owner surrender. He is in god health except for being a bit overweight. He is now on a diet to help him get to a healthy weight. He is heartworm negative. He has been neutered, microchipped and brought current on his vaccinations.

Brady is an adorable fawn male. He is about 3 years old. He came to us when he was taken to a local animal shelter after being hit by a car. This poor little guy was suffering from a broken leg and has since undergone surgery to repair it. Unfortunately his bad luck didn't end there as he has tested positive for heartworms. He has been started on conservative therapy but he will soon begin more aggressive treatment. Meanwhile he has been neutered, microchipped and brought up to date on all of his vaccinations.

BrandonPH ID: #536
Brandon is a fawn male. He is 2-3 years old. He was picked up by a local animal control facility and nobody came to claim him so we were called. He is severe heartworm positive. He has been neutered and brought current on his vaccinations. This charmer has manners, so he's obviously been someone's pet at one time, though his heartworm positive status tells us nobody has been taking care of him. He does have some dry eye and is on medication for that.

From Brandon's foster: Brandon is very happy to be rescued and be back in a home with people who love him. He's the first one to jump in your lap when you sit down and wants to climb up until he's nose to nose with you. He's a beautiful golden brown and reminds me of a lion club. He's definitely a chow hound and roams from bowl to bowl at meal times. He's perfectly house trained and knows the command Sit. Once he's cured of his heartworms, he will be the perfect pet for someone who wants to snuggle with a pug and get puggle kisses.

Update: We are thrilled to report that Brandon has completed his heartworm treatment and is now clear! This means he is ready for his new home!

BridgetPH ID: #25
Bridget is a gorgeous fawn female who was found wandering around by a Good Samaritan who took her in and tried to find her family. Unfortunately nobody had microchipped her and nobody came forward to claim her, so she was turned over to us to find her a new home. We estimate she is about 3-4 years old. She is now microchipped and has been brought current on her vaccinations. She appears to be a healthy girl.

She’s a very sweet girl who is definitely a lap dog. She very much loves humans and likes to be near someone who can cuddle her. She enjoys sleeping in a human bed and is not much of a morning pug.

She appears used to living with a cat and also gets on well with other dogs. She also gets on very well with children and is described by her foster as “very tolerant of lots of kid hugs.” She is quite playful, enjoying a game of fetch or tug-o-war.

PLEASE NOTE: Bridget and Clifford are a bonded pair and as such will only be adopted out together.

BrittanyPH ID: #393
Brittany is a fawn female. She comes to us from a local shelter so we don't know her history. We estimate she is between 3 to 4 years old. She has one "bad" eye and one "good" eye. She is a sweet little lady.

From Brittany's foster: Britney is a sweet active girl. She would do best in a household with another dog who loves to play, as she has fallen head over paws in love with another Pughearts foster, Mr. Dill Pickle! They play constantly, and she practically moons over him. She knows the basic command "sit", and has shown that she is a fairly quick learner. She has a few unique traits and talents, she can jump up waist high from a stand still (very unusual for a pug), and she has the cutest little underbite with a tongue that sticks out a bit on a regular basis. She was stuck to me like glue initially, but now that she feels more secure in the home and the family routine, she is settling down. Bed sleeper she is as well, has to be snuggled right up to your side, now who wouldn't want a dog like her?

BrodiPH ID: #26
Brodi is a fawn male puppy. Yes, he is actually only 9 months old though he looks much older! This not-so-little guy appears to be a Pug-Bulldog mix. At 9 months of age he still has his baby teeth but already weighs 30 pounds. It doesn't look like he will be much taller, but he will probably get a bit bigger around.

Brodi was found wandering the streets and taken in by a Good Samaritan who tried to find his family. Unfortunately, it does not appear that anyone has been caring for this guy as he is positive for hookworms, Demodex mange and a yeast infection on his skin. He is currently undergoing treatment and will recovery fully. He has been brought up to date on his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered.

Brodi is every bit a puppy - very playful and sweet. He gets along very well with other dogs and even cats. He is also very good with young children. He is housebroken but still has a lot to learn. Now he needs someone to teach him cool stuff like how to play ball and sit for treats!

BronxPH ID: #575
Bronx is a black male. He is just 3 years old. He was an owner surrender to a local animal control facility when they found out he was heartworm positive. He was literally moments away from being euthanized when a volunteer from another rescue organization intervened and saved him. They then contacted us to see if we wanted him and of course we never turn any pug away, regardless of their health issues. This sweet little guy will begin heartworm treatment shortly.

BrooklynPH ID: #647
Brooklyn is a fawn female. She comes to us from a local animal control facility. She is approximately 4 years old. She is in good health; she is heartworm negative. She has been spayed, microchipped and brought current on her vaccinations.

From Brooklyn's foster: Brooklyn is very sweet and loving. She is very gentle with children. She loves to sit in your lap and get a belly rub or just rub all over you! She "snuffles" very deeply when she smells something interessting which makes me laugh. She is a petite little lady and enjoys sleeping in the bed with my son. Although she gets along with other dogs, she prefers being by herself and would be perfect in a single dog household. She has had some skin issues due to flea allergies, but is healing and feeling less itchy. She is house trained and learning about the doggy door. This is one special little lady waiting for a forever home. Won't you adopt her?

BrucePH ID: #270
Bruce is a 5 year old fawn male. He came to us from a local shelter. He is severe heartworm positive and has begun treatment. He has been neutered and is current on his vaccinations.

Bruce is a happy little guy! He is housebroken, gets along well with other dogs, but is also very content just hanging out with a bone or toy to chew on. He loves attention, but would prefer to lay at your feet than sit next to you on the couch. Although, he does like to cuddle on the big bed at night. He has had his heartworm treatment and is almost through with the confinement period. He will be ready to go make one lucky family very happy!

BrunoPH ID: #27
Bruno is a fawn male who came to us from a local shelter. He is a young guy, we believe he is between 1 to 2 years old. He has a severe injury to his left eye which will require surgical removal.

Right now he is on medical hold but we will be updating his profile once he is stabilized and moved from our vet's hospital into a foster home.

BrunoPH ID: #720
Bruno is a 1 year old fawn male. He is housetrained and knows how to use a doggy door. He has plenty of energy for playing with toys and other dogs. He gets along well with small children and enjoys sleeping in a people bed. He loves to sit in your lap for plenty of petting and enjoys taking walks.

Bruno has been neutered, brought up to date on his vaccinations and has no known health issues.

BryanPH ID: #430
Bryan is a fawn male. He is about 2 or 3 years old. He was found wandering the streets with no tags or microchip. He is severe heartworm positive and will begin treatment shortly to clear them. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

From Bryan's foster: Bryan is a young beautiful boy! He must not have been treated very nicely in his former life because he was extremely timid when we first brought him to our home. Despite his fear, he was very sweet and loved to be held. He's come a long way already and is trusting us more and more each day. He has a lot of personality - he loves playing with toys! We often find him pulling out toys from his toy box, growling and playing with them. He loves being in a crate - if you can't find Bryan, he's usually curled up in his crate surrounded by all of his toys (he's a bit of a toy hoarder!). He's not housebroken yet, but he is improving. He gets along very well with our other dogs. Bryan will be going through heartworm treatment within the next couple of weeks and then will be ready for a new home! Bryan needs a home with someone who is willing to be slow with him and love him like he so deserves. He is a precious boy!

BubblesPH ID: #495
This little girl (13 lbs) was apparently quite neglected: she was not socialized with either dogs or people. She had to learn EVERYTHING, especially respecting boundaries (canine & human). She was also guilty of resource guarding, treats, food and toys. With consistent rules and strong pack leadership she has transformed in just a few weeks from a wild child; to a calm, friendly snuggle-bug. She is completely housebroken (to OUR house: she may need some correction to generalize where it's OK to potty and where not), she sits patiently for treats and food, takes gently when hand-fed, and loves to be held, and comes when called (she knows her name). She follows you around the house wherever you go, and she is so quiet we had to put a bell on her collar to avoid tripping over the little thing.

With her health improving she should be ready for spaying and heartworm treatment soon. She is great with people (including strangers), and is getting much better with other dogs: she has several successful trips to the dog park under her belt. Just in the last couple days she has begun snuggling with my alpha bitch when no human is available. A little love-sponge, she still doesn't know what play is. Give her time though, once healthy she may very well be the perfect pug! This is one worth waiting for. And she is SO cute...

BuckleyPH ID: #781
Buckley is a 3 year old fawn male who was picked up as a stray by a local animal control. He must have had a family at one time since he has been neutered. His skin is in appalling condition and he is low heartworm positive. He’s a little guy, just under 15 lbs, with a great face and a snuggly disposition. Sitting on my lap in the car even distracted him from his itchy skin.

From Buckley (with a little help from his foster Mom): Hi, my name is Buckley and I'm a 3 year old fawn male. I might be little, but that doesn't stop me from playing tug of war with the big boys.

I am house trained and know how to use a doggy door. I love to cuddle with my foster or the other dogs in her pack. My skin is still a little itchy but most of my hair has grown back. I like to sleep in the big bed, but I can also use a crate. I am neutered, micro chipped and current on all my shots. It makes me sad that I'm heartworm positive and am having to wait to be treated. I like children and other dogs. My foster call me her sweet little boy. I am looking for my forever home and family. Will it be you?

BudPH ID: #28
Bud is a adorable black male who was found wandering the streets without tags or a microchip. A Good Samaritan took him in but was unable to keep him so we were contacted to find him a home. We estimate he is only about 1 year old. He is in good health. He has been brought up to date on his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered.

Bud is a little sweetheart who is going to make someone a wonderful pet. He is housebroken and well mannered. He gets along well with other dogs too. This guy just needs someone who will look after him and spoil him rotten.

BuddyPH ID: #29
Meet Buddy. Buddy is named after the human who lived among elves in the movie 'Elf'. Our 'Buddy' lives among Pugs but is actually a Pug/Boston Terrier mix. He is all Pug at heart though, and that is what really counts. Buddy is a young male, about 10 months old. He is as playful as his age suggests - he loves to run, play tug of war, or chew on a bone or toy. He's also extremely sweet and loveable. When he slows down, he loves to do it curled up on your lap or next to you. It's hard not to fall in love with this little guy instantly - he has that sweet puggy look in his eyes that will melt any heart.

He has lived the last 6 months of his life in a crate so he is currently in the process of being housebroken, but he is learning well from his fellow pug roomates. He gets along well with other dogs, but he is very playful, so would do best in a home who has a playful dog as well. He has no known health issues. He's neutered, microchipped and up to date on shots. If you are in search of a young, sweet, playful companion - Buddy is your guy!

BugPH ID: #31
My name is Bugs - like the bunny, not the insect! I'm a 5 1/2 year old black male. I have been neutered and am up to date on all my shots. I've had an injury in the past to one of my eyes so I've got a little vision loss in one eye but other than that I'm in good shape. I had a faintly positive heartworm test, but they tell me that with monthly Heartguard I should 'convert' to heartworm negative in a few months. (Apparently that's one test they want you to fail!)

I'm what they call an owner surrender - which means my family couldn't keep me or my brother Maximus anymore. But since they kept us outside & it's starting to get to that hot time of year, I think that's a good thing. I know my name and can answer to it when called. I'm also what they call 'crate trained' though I'd rather run around free! I've decided I like living in houses and would like a family that would keep me inside all the time. I'm even willing to share that home with another dog - or even a cat!

Everyone tells me how cute I am. I know it's true and I make a point of letting people have a chance to pet me and tell me just how sweet I am. I also like to play with other dogs, though I don't understand all of the neat games they play since nobody's ever played them with me. Maybe someone could teach me and then I'd reward them with puggy-luv!

BugsyPH ID: #559
Bugsy is a fawn male. He is 3 years old. He is in good health except for having some hot spots on his fur from living outside. He is heartworm negative. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations. He is a beautiul boy just waiting for his forever home!

Bugsy 2PH ID: #753
Bugsy is a black male. He comes to us as an owner surrender. He is 7 years old. He is in good health; he is heartworm negative. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

From Bugsy's foster: Bugsy is one of the sweetest happiest pugs I have ever met! He has a slight ‘under bite’, and when he gets tired the tip of his toung hangs straight out of his mouth! He has clearly been a spoiled pet most of his life, and seems to have good house manners and is housetrained. He gets along very well with dogs his own size, and with a little time has learned to get along with my larger dog.

Bugsy is a big cuddler, and would rather spend time in a persons lap then playing with other dogs. Bugsy is ready for a family of his own that will love and appreciate this him for the sweet, happy pug he is!

BunnyPH ID: #32
Bunny is an adorable fawn female. She was a stray that somebody found on the street. When nobody claimed her we were contacted to find her a new home. We estimate she is about 4 years old. She has been spayed, microchipped and brought current on her vaccinations. Thankfully she is heartworm negative and is now on preventative.

We have named her Bunny for 2 reasons: firstly we picked her up on Easter weekend and secondly she hops like a bunny when she runs! Really, she does! Poor little Bunny has some old hip injuries that cause her 'hopping' movements when she runs. She moves her back legs together, rather than in sequence. It looks like she might have been hit by a car and never received any treatment, which allowed her hips to heal out of correct alignment. It is too late to correct it now, but it doesn't seem to cause her any pain or give her any problems. In fact, this little girl seems VERY happy. She loves people and being held and loves to be the center of attention. This is one little lady that loves life.

BuscemiPH ID: #33
Buscemi is a 3 1/2 year-old male fawn. He is current on all of his vaccinations and has been microchipped. He is an owner surrender due to family changes.

He is in excellent health and has recently been neutered. He is not presently housebroken but is quickly learning what a doggie door is and how to use it.

Buscemi is a bit shy when meeting new people and animals at first, but once he warms up to you he is quite friendly and playful. He does very well with children and other dogs.

Buscemi will make an excellent addition to a lucky family out there. He's just waiting to hear from them now!

BusterPH ID: #34
Buster is a 7 year old male fawn. He has been neutered and microchipped. He is up to date on his vaccinations and is heartworm negative. He is good health except for being a bit on the 'fluffy' side - nothing a bit of a diet won't fix!

Buster is an owner surrender due to family changes. He is housebroken and gets on well with other pugs. He loves to go for walks. He also has quite a bit of a playful side and does not act his age. In between play periods, he loves to sit on a lap and have a nap. He's a very good snuggler and will make somebody a very loving lap dog.

BusterPH ID: #817
Buster is a big softy. He is about 2-3 years old, heartworm negative and a real love. Buster loves to play with the other active pugs here. He came to us in good condition and with great house manners. Buster would love a home where he can play with other dogs and then rest and cuddle with his people on the couch. He loves stuffed toys and will carry them around with him. Buster is a bigger pug and would do well playing with large or small dogs. He is quite active and will need a way to get his energy release daily. If you are looking for a sweet young, active pug…Buster is waiting for you.

ButchPH ID: #35
Butch is a gorgeous young fawn male. We estimate he is between 1 1/2 and 2 years old. He was found wandering the streets and when nobody came for him we were contacted to find him a home. This little guy seems to have been out on his own for a while as he has an ugly (but non-contagious) yeast infection on his skin. He is receiving medicated baths and will recovery quickly. He is in otherwise excellent health. He has been brought up to date on his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered.

Butch is a very excited, happy guy. He loves to play and is a very social pug. He gets on very well with other dogs and would do well in a multi-pet household.

BuzzPH ID: #36
Buzz is a very sweet fawn male. We estimate he is between 2 to 3 years old. He has been brought current on his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. He seems healthy but definitely needs to gain some weight as he is pretty skinny right now.

Buzz is a very gentle boy who has obviously been someone's pet at some time. He knows some commands like 'sit'. As he was not neutered when we found him, he has a habit of marking his territory. However, he is now neutered and his foster Mom is working on the housebreaking. He's a smart boy so we think he'll figure it out. He gets along well with other dogs but is rather timid - definitely not an Alpha dog. He would do well as an only pet or with a calm companion. Though he plays with others, he much prefers to sit next to you on a sofa.

BuzzPH ID: #346
Buzz is a fawn male. We believe he is between 2 and 3 years old. He is heartworm negative and has been neutered. He is current on his vaccinations and has been microchipped. He has an old injury to his back leg and does not use it for much more than support. He does not hurt and is a sweet lovable shadow.

Update from Buzz's foster: Buzz really needs to be in a home with another dog. He loves to play, run and chase! He plays a game with one of his foster siblings where he jumps up on the couch to get away from them but dangles a toy down so they will play. He also likes to swim in the pool. He's a sweet loving boy that will make a great addition to a family.

CaesarPH ID: #390
Caesar is a female male. He is 2 years old. He is a small boy - he only weighs 12 lbs. He is being neutered and brought current on his vaccinations. He is heartworm negative.

CalebPH ID: #37
Caleb is a cute black male. He was found wandering the streets without a tag or microchip and nobody came looking for him. So, now we are going to find him the perfect home. He is a young guy - somewhere between 1 to 1 1/2 years old. He has been brought up to date on his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. He does have an old injury to his right eye which does not appear to bother him. Unfortunately, because he was left to fend for himself on the streets, he was not on any heartworm preventative and is now heartworm positive. He has begun treatment.

Now that Caleb has been with us for a little while, he has really come out of his shell! He is VERY much a puppy, full of life and energy. He is extremely curious and playful. Since he's obviously not been someone's pet for a while (if ever) he is still learning how to be an indoor doggie and is still working on house training. But since he's so young and eager we don't think that will take long for him to figure out. He seems to already have the treat thing mastered!

CarliePH ID: #38
Carlie is a sweet fawn female. She was found wandering the streets by a Good Samaritan who called us to find her a home. She is approximately 1 to 1 1/2 years old. She has been brought current on her vaccinations and microchipped. She appears to be in good health except for her skin. She seems to be suffering from a flea allergy which has left her looking a bit scruffy right now. However, she is on antibiotics and flea medication which will get her looking good as new in no time.

Carlie is a very sweet, friendly girl who loves people. She also gets on very well with other dogs.

CarlyPH ID: #271
Carly is a 3 year old fawn female. She was an owner surrender. She is heartworm positive and will begin treatment immediately. She has one missing eye that is not a new injury. She has not been spayed but will be shortly. She has been brought current on her vaccinations and microchipped.

CarlyPH ID: #711
Carly is a black female. She is approximately 5 years old. She is in good health; she is heartworm negative. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations.

CarolinePH ID: #39
Caroline is a 3 year old black female. She came to us from a local animal control office, so not much is known about her past life. She did have puppies recently but she will be spayed prior to placement. She has been brought up to date on her vaccinations and microchipped. She appears to be a very healthy girl with no known medical issues.

Since she came to us from a shelter we don't know anything about prior living arrangements, but we do know that she gets on very well with other dogs. She is a sweet, happy girl who loves attention.

CarriePH ID: #587
Carrie is a fawn female. She comes to us from a local shelter. We believe she is about 4 years old. She is in good health. She has been spayed, microchipped and brought current on her vaccinations.

Do not let that little patch of gray on her face fool you into thinking this is some shy, retiring little old lady! This girl is full of beans! She's a small girl - about 15 lbs - but she plays hard! She gets on very well with other dogs.

CarsonPH ID: #764
Carson is a fawn male. He is 5 years old and an owner surrender through no fault of his own. He is in good health; he is heartworm negative. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

From Carson's foster: He is very laid back, loves to play, great with my 18 month old (even when he is pulling on him before I can correct.) He will come to me when he needs to go outside as he hasn't completely figured out the doggie door yet. We don't have a big enough bed to have the dogs with us but Carson sleeps well in his crate overnight. He is a cuddler and will hang out on the couch with me. We don't have any toys for him so he plays with our son's. However, unlike our other dog, he doesn't chew them up. He doesn't bark a lot but has woken up our son a couple of times. I can't tell if he's a dominant personality or not. Our other dog is very dominant and they have "duked it out" a few times over the past few days. He seems to have settled into the "pack". He is a wonderful dog and will make a great friend for a family.

CarterPH ID: #586
Carter is a fawn male. He comes to us from a local animal control facility. We believe he is around 3 years old. He had worms when he first came to us but they have been treated. He is in excellent health. He is heartworm negative. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

Carter is a sweet, gentle fellow. He is very easy going and mellow. He's a loving boy who would do well as an only dog or in a less active household. He does well on walks, but is happiest hanging around with his human.

CaseyPH ID: #40
Casey is a beautiful fawn female. She is 8 years old, though she certainly doesn't look or act like it. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her rabies vaccination.

Casey is an owner surrender. Her former owner reported she had some medical issues several years ago, but she has been examined by our vet and has been found to be in good health, though she does have a slight limp to her right front leg due to an old injury. She is on no medications and requires no special treatment. However, she does have poor teeth and will require some extractions.

Casey was formerly kept outside. She is currently in foster with several other dogs and is re-learning how to be part of a family. She is housebroken though she has not figured out the doggie door yet. She sleeps in bed with her foster parents and their dogs and has integrated well. She is obviously not used to being cuddled, but is learning fast! She would thrive in an environment where she can receive plenty of attention. She also loves water and would do well in a home with a pool.

CassandraPH ID: #41
Cassandra

CassidyPH ID: #712
Cassidy is a fawn female. She is about 4 years old. She came to us with her "sister" Esperanza after they were found in a lake by a Good Samaritan who rescued them and contacted us. She is severe heartworm positive and will begin treatment immediately. From Cassidy's foster: Our guess is that Cassidy didn't have the greatest life prior to coming to PugHearts, she looks older than she is - but whatever happened to her before, she has completely left it behind her! This little girl is a firecracker! She is sweet and so playful. She has an affinity for stuffed toys, it is her goal in life to rid the world of "squeekers". She lights up when she sees a new toy, and she'll search out the toy basket until she finds something suitable. She's a smart one, this little girl, she's doing her best to make us her personal servants! If she drops a toy from the couch, she'll look at it and whine, and look at us like, "hey, are you gonna get that for me?". We obviously fell for it for a while, but now she knows that after a minute or two, we're not falling for the sweet face gig :-) She gets along well with our other dogs, she is food oriented, so we keep a close eye that she doesn't try to steal others' food, but otherwise she's a normal diva lady pug. She is housebroken and crate trained. She's done well sleeping in a crate and in the big bed with her foster family too. This girl has got spirit and will make a fun, loving companion for you!

ChampPH ID: #42
Meet Champ. Just look at that face! He is an adorable fawn male. He came to us with some skin issues that left his coat looking pretty sad. However, he has been getting medicated baths and his coat is now growing back in and as you can see he is looking quite handsome!

Champ came to us from a local animal shelter. He is current on his vaccinations and microchipped. He had tested moderately heartworm positive but has completed his treatment and is now clear. He is 2 years old, though everyone thinks he is a puppy because he is so active and playful. It's so nice to see that even though he has obviously had a pretty rough time of it, he still is a happy, friendly fellow who loves people.

CharlesPH ID: #457
Charles is an adorable black male. He comes to us from a local shelter. We believe he is between 8 to 10 years old. He is suffering from some itchy skin right now due to a case of sarcoptic mange. That is being treated and he should be clear soon. He is in otherwise good health and is heartworm negative. He has been brought current on his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered.

From Charles' foster: Charles (aka Charlie) is a sweet sweet boy! He is generally a very calm pug, but he has his playful moments. While Charlie has lost some vision, this does not slow him down one bit. He leads the way when we go on walks, he flies up and down the stairs, and he has no trouble finding a treat when it "drops" on the floor! Charlie prefers to sleep on his own bed and is completely house trained. He is a very smart boy and is also learning how to cuddle...although he does need some more practice!

Charles 2PH ID: #625
Charles is a black male. He comes to us from an animal control facility. We believe he is about 3 years old. It doesn't seem like he's been taken care for a while because he is heartworm positive. He will begin treatment shortly. He will also be neutered. He is now current on his vaccinations and microchipped.

CharliePH ID: #43
Charlie is a cute fawn male pug mix. We're not sure what he's mixed with but we figure since he's even part pug he's a keeper. He came to us from a local shelter where nobody claimed him and he was going to be put down soon. We couldn't let that happen so we took him in to find him a home. He appears to be about 1 year old. It doesn't look like anybody has been taking care of him because he has tested heartworm positive. We have started him on treatment. He has been brought up to date on vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. He is in otherwise excellent health.

Charlie is all puppy. He is full of energy and loves to play. He hasn't met a toy he didn't like and he has all the energy you would expect of a young guy. He gets along beautifully with other dogs as well as children. He is house and kennel trained. When he is not playing he loves to snuggle on the couch or in the bed.

Charlotte is current on all her shots including Rabies and Bordetella. She is also spayed and heart-worm negative.

Very much an energetic Dog but Charlotte is very gentle and cuddly too. She shows all the signs of being very well housebroken and the use of a doggy door is something that she is very comfortable with.

Charlotte shows no problems with living with other dogs and loves to play chase me and ball games.

ChellyPH ID: #46
Chelly is a beautiful fawn female pug. She was found wandering the streets and was taken in by a good Samaritan who placed ads looking for her owner. After no response, we were contacted to take her in and find her a suitable home.

Chelly is estimated to be about 1 1/2 years old with quite a bit of puppy still in her. She is very active and playful. She very much enjoys toys and rawhides! She is housebroken and gets on well with other dogs. She has just discovered what a cat is though she doesn't seem to understand what they are for!

Chelly is now microchipped and up to date on her vaccinations. She will be spayed within a few days. She has no known medical issues. She loves to run and play, but she also is a very good snuggler. She enjoys sleeping in a human bed so she can snuggle during the night.

Chelly is well behaved and learning to go for walks on a lead. She will make a fantastic companion for some lucky pug lover.

Chi ChiPH ID: #48
Chi Chi is a fawn female who is a little over a year old. She is current on all of her vaccinations and has been spayed. She is negative for heartworms and is on preventative.

Chi Chi is a very active, playful young lady who gets on well with other dogs. She is housebroken, though she has had a history of 'marking' when she has not received enough attention. Of course she still has a lot of puppy in her and needs some training. She also could use some stability, as she has been moved around quite a bit in her young life.

ChinaPH ID: #47
China is a sweet fawn female. She is 10 years old. She was an owner surrender through no fault of her own. Though her eyesight is severely limited, she does appear to see shapes and light.

China has come a long way in the year we've had her. Now an 11 year old beauty - she enjoys her days taking naps, strolls around the yard in the sun, and more naps. Even though she has very little vision & hearing - it doesn't stop her from enjoying a sunny day or a good belly rub. She knows her way around the house and yard, and she will certainly let you know when she wants something! She's the Queen of our Pug Palace! Thanks to PugHearts, China is getting loved like she's always deserved to be!

ChloePH ID: #451
Chloe is a fawn female. She is about 5 years old. She comes to us from a local shelter. She is heartworm positive. She has not been spayed but will be prior to adoption. She is current on vaccinations and has been microchipped.

From Chloe's foster: Chloe is really something else. She has definitely not been treated as a Pug should be treated. The day she came home she was shaking so bad that it broke my heart. I tried to hold her and talk to her to let her know that she wouldn't be hurt but that didn't work, she just shook harder. She has started coming around now and will let me hold her for a few minutes before she gets so scared. But the best part is that she's starting to jump on me to play while we're sitting on the couch. She will soon not remember whatever it was that happened to her previously and will be a happy girl forever more.

Chloe has a different look. She's really quite small (13 pounds) but it appears that her nutrition has not been the best and her legs are bowed out. She also has a tongue that is always hanging out (dental hygiene wasn't the best either). If you put all these little quirks together you have an awesomely cute Pug! She is really has a beautiful face and the tongue hanging out just adds another cuteness factor.

She will need to have someone teach her how to behave in the house. I just love to watch one come in that has never seen a TV before. Chloe sat on the couch for the longest time cocking her head from side to side trying to figure out what it was. She is definitely not housebroken so that is priority #1! With a little time and a lot of patience she will be a wonderful companion for someone.

Chubby CheckersPH ID: #618
Chubby Checkers is a fawn male. We believe he is about 8 years old. He comes to us from a local animal control facility. He is has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations. He is heartworm negative. He is a "fluffy" fellow who could stand to lose a bit of weight. He is also suffering from some arthritic knees (which are probably worse due to him being overweight.) He is now on a diet to help him lose a little weight.

From Chubby's foster: Chubby is an extremely sweet boy ready for his forever home. ‘Chubby’ came to us extremely overweight—with some dieting and a lot of exercise he has blossomed into a great companion! Chubby can be very active, or a happy lazy lap dog. He gets along well with large and small dogs, cats and LOVES children. He will do well with other dogs or by himself. We have put Chubby on a schedule and as long as he is kept on his schedule he has not have any accidents in the house—(Is housebroken). Chubbys’ favorite activities include TV watching and car rides. His love of ‘traveling’ has enabled him to experience dog parks and horse barns (both of which he has handled with grace)! He is a well-rounded boy ready for a family of his own to love and play with.

ChuckPH ID: #282
Chuck is a 5 year old black male. He was found in the middle of a road and turned into us. He has been brought current on his vaccinations and microchipped. He has been neutered.

From Chuck's Foster Mom: This boy is so special. He's very loving and super attentive. He's learned to sit and stay. He's also learned to talk! He's not a cuddler by snuggly standards, but he does need to sit next to me. Sometimes he stretches out to put his chin on my lap, or a paw across my legs. He's definitely housebroken. He is a bed sleeper. He has to get under the covers and curl up next to me. He's really a momma's boy. He probably was weened too early, as he's prone to suckle. He also has a bit of abandonment issues. If we're gone for longer than a few hours he starts tearing up toys. I think he would do best with another dog. He doesn't seem to care about chasing the cats around here, or even squirrels.

CiscoPH ID: #804
Cisco is a black male. He is a little guy - only 5 months old. He is heartworm negative and in good health. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

ClaribelPH ID: #445
Claribel is a black female. She is 4 years old. She is in good health and is heartworm negative. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations.

From Claribel's foster: Claribel is one sweet girl. She has not had any problems becoming a loved pet, I think she knows the puppy machine days are behind her. She is in really good health, her only issue is dry eye and it isn't really that bad she needs to have drops put in her eyes every day and she's good to go. Her skin had issues with the fleas so she has some scabs in her fur but when the spay stitches are removed and she can have a bath they will be gone. Her coat looks like satin, it's very pretty!

Claribel's one goal in life is to be held and loved. A diet is in her future so she is a lap full right now but when she trims down she'll be a normal sized pug. She loves to have her belly rubbed, she goes to the door with all the others to go outside but before she goes she rolls over to have a belly rub first! She will be laying on my lap and all of a sudden she will turn her head and jump up to give me a really quick lick on the face and then lay right back down like she hasn't moved, she seems to be showing affection. She really is something. Her house habits are exceptional, she's been with me for awhile and hasn't done anything rude yet.

Claribel is an absolute love and would make anyone a great additon to the family. I think if she had the choice she would choose to be in a home where she is the center of attention, but she does get on well with other pugs so a furry brother/sister would also be fine.

CliffordPH ID: #50
Clifford is a handsome fawn male. We estimate he is about 4 years old.

Clifford was found wandering the streets without a collar or microchip. A Good Samaritan tried to find his owners, but nobody came forward to claim him so we were called to find him a new home. He has now been microchipped and brought up to date on his vaccinations. He has been neutered and is in excellent health.

Clifford is a very social, friendly pug. He is very laid back and easygoing and seems to get along with everyone. He's also a very good cuddler who loves to be held and petted. He thoroughly enjoys sleeping in a human bed at night and will make some lucky person a very good personal heater this winter! He is also very well behaved and is housebroken. He is going to make someone a fantastic companion. This beautiful boy is just waiting for his new family to find him and never let him go.

PLEASE NOTE: Clifford and Bridget are a bonded pair and as such will only be adopted out together.

CoalPH ID: #255
Coal is a 7 year old black male. He is an owner surrender with his bonded "sister" Lilly.

CodyPH ID: #51
Cody is a 1 1/2 - 2 year old male who has been neutered and is up to date on his shots. He was found wandering the streets before a Good Samaritan found him and alerted us.

He is such a sweet and gentle soul and loves to snuggle in your arms and lap. He also can be quite playful, but prefers to cuddle. He will follow you around to see what you're up to - his foster mom refers to him as her 'shadow.'

We had believed at first that Cody was in good health except for being a bit too thin and having an entropion (inward 'rolling') left lower eyelid. During his pre-op examination at the Vet, it was discovered that Cody is suffering from a liver shunt. This explains why he is so tiny and was not gaining weight. Unfortunately, this is a very serious condition. Untreated it is fatal. At present he has been started on medication. While this will not cure him, it will make his quality of life better. The only way to correct his liver shunt is through surgery. The first of several surgeries would cost approximately $3000. Due to the large amount of money needed, we will not be holding a 'ChipIn' for the surgeries. However, we would gratefully accept any donations to cover the cost of Cody's ongoing medications.

Due to Cody's ongoing medical needs, he is now considered a 'Special Needs' adoption. Adoption will only be considered for somebody who has the ability to give Cody the treatment he needs.

GREAT NEWS! Cody has responded well enough to his liver medications that he was able to undergo corrective surgery for his eyelid! Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible. Because of you, Cody will no longer need daily ointment and have the constant irritation to his eye.

CodyPH ID: #777
Cody is a fawn male. He is heartworm negative and in good health. He has been neutered, microchipped and brought current on his vaccinations.

ColePH ID: #52
Cole is a sweet black male. He is 2 years old. Cole originally came from a breeder's facility but has been staying with a Good Samaritan who decided we could take the best care of him. It doesn't look like he has had a very good life so far. He is pretty skinny for a pug and has an injured eye. We don't know yet the extent of his eye injury but we have started him on medications to soothe the irritation and help him feel better. He is severely heartworm positive and was also suffering from intestinal worms and a flea infestation. Now that he has been cleared of the intestinal worms and fleas, he will begin his heartworm treatment.

Cole is a very sweet boy who seems to understand that we want to help him. He is already feeling 100 times better and that is evident by his big goofy grin! Why, he's even allowing his foster Mom to dress him up with a scarf - so obviously he's a pretty easy-going fella.

ColonelPH ID: #524
Colonel is a fawn male. He is a 6 year old owner surrender through no fault of his own. He is heartworm negative and in good health. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations. He is described as a "momma's boy and is happiest when he is sitting next to you."

ColtPH ID: #474
Colt is a fawn male. He has been neutered and microchipped and is current on his vaccinations. He is heartworm negative.

From Colt's foster: Colt is about 3 or 4 years old, but acts like a puppy. He is potty trained, but does try to mark sometimes. He takes well to training and gets along with other dogs. He was found wondering in a park, with nothing but skin and bones. Once he chooses his person he will follow them to the ends of the earth. He does well with children and is very socialable. He is in need of an owner that loves to play and have fun!

ConnorPH ID: #54
Connor is a black male. He is nearly 2 years old. He came to us with hookworms but those are being treated. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

CookiePH ID: #55
Cookie is a fawn female pug mix that comes to us from a local shelter. We estimate she is between 2 to 3 years old. She is heartworm negative. She is current on vaccinations, microchipped and spayed. She appears to be in very good health.

Cookie is a cuddler - she loves nothing more than snuggling up to a human for love and attention. She gets on very well with other dogs and would do well in a multi-dog household. She is currently in a foster home with a cat and doesn't seem too impressed by it so she would be a candidate for a home with a cat also. She absolutely LOVES children and does well playing with little ones.

CooperPH ID: #330
Cooper is a fawn male. He was picked up by a local animal control after he had been hit by a car. Luckily he had no major injuries. He is heartworm negatve and appears to be in good health. He is somewhere between 3 to 4 years old. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations. He is housetrained. He is a timid boy but seems to be coming out of his shell now that he feels more comfortable.

CorkyPH ID: #324
Carlo is a very handsome fawn pug with a face that could win anyone over. He is approximately one year old and was found wandering the streets. Carlo is sweet, obedient and loves to give kisses. The two like to chase each other around the house, go to dog parks, and savor the taste of a good piece of rawhide.

CorrinaPH ID: #391
Corrina is a black female. She is 7 years old. Unfortunately, poor Corrina has spent her life in a backyard breeder's facility. She is now through with that life and has been spayed so she will never be abused again. Thankfully she is heartworm negative and appears to be in good health. We are bringing her current on her vaccinations and microchipping her.

CortiPH ID: #752
Corti is a fawn female. She is an owner surrender and is 6 years old. She is in good health and is heartworm negative. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations.

From Corti's foster: Corti is great. Plays well with our other dogs and couldn't be any more gentle around the kids. Can bark a little but only when she needs something. House trained with zero accidents since she has been with us. Sweet girl.

CosmoPH ID: #691
Cosmo is a 5-year old neutered fawn male who was an owner surrender through no fault of his own. He was rescued once before in his short life, so he definitely needs a forever home. He is severe heartworm positive and will begin treatment shortly. He also has dry eye in his left eye so he will need moisturizing drops daily to keep him comfortable. He is already neutered and is current on his vaccinations. He's crate trained, good with children, and is very playful and active.

From Cosmo's foster: Cosmo is a very playful and talkative little guy. He is an energetic pup who loves attention and is willing to demand it, his outgoing, here I am personality puts a smile on my face and makes me laugh, I so wish I could understand what he was trying to tell me. He is potty and kennel trained and knows how to use the dog door, he gets along well with all the other dogs in the house. He has had a hard life and deserves the rest of his life to be the best and most spoiled it can be.

CourtneyPH ID: #574
Courtney is a black female. She is 4 years old. She comes to us from a local animal control facility. This poor little girl has been on her own for a while and hasn't fared too well. She is heartworm positive and will begin treatment shortly. In the meantime she is suffering from a case of mange and seems to also have a respiratory infection. These are being treated and will hopefully clear soon. Since she has obviously been living outside for a while she has developed dry eye and will now get daily eye drops to keep her comfortable. She has now been microchipped, spayed and brought current on her vaccinations.

This sweet little girl deserves to know what it's like to be part of a family and to not have to fend for herself out on the streets. We have promised her just that and hope the perfect family finds her soon.

From Courtney's foster: Courtney is a sweet angel that has a wonderful spirit for life. From the moment you meet her you know she just wants to be loved and to play. She has made wonderful progress in the last weeks recovering from her ailments from living in the streets. Her hair is starting to grow back and she is looking better by the day. When she is fully recovered she is going to be a beautiful pug! You would never know the hardships she has faced because she is a bundle of happiness with lots of love to give. She loves to play with toys and is house trained.

Cupid is a beautiful fawn female. She is a 9 year old owner surrender through no fault of her own. She is in excellent health (except for maybe needing to shed a pound or two.) She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations.

Cupid comes to us with her son Junior. As they have always been together, we will not separate them and they must be adopted out together. Cupid is housebroken and a very behaved little lady. She is very sweet and has a laid back temperment. She's happy mothering her son and relaxing on a human lap.

D PH ID: #428
D is a fawn male. We believe he is 2 or 3 years old. He was found wandering the streets with no tags or microchip. We don't think anyone's been looking after him because he is heartworm positive. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

From D's Foster: This is one fun-loving little dog. "D" (who we currently call Cap as in Cap(ital) D) is an easy-going dog who looks for fun in life. He loves to surround himself with toys from squeaky toys to rawhide chews to bones. Then he will prance upwith one in his mouth to get us to chase him. He really likes soft squeaky toys. He gets along with the 3 other dogs in our household, and has learned the feeding routine. He is a beautiful tawny color, the color of a lion; and he is a thinner, leggier pug - not so low to the ground. He loves meeting folks and when he meets people out in the street he goes up to them and sits as close to them as possible and receives his pats. He is gentle and charms everyone he meets. "D" loves going on walks, and walks fairly well on the leash. He appears potty trained and he uses the doggie door at our home but he really prefers going for walks for potty. He likes to sit in my lap, and also likes to cuddle close in the bed if he doesn't have to compete with other dogs on the bed. In that case he will sleep on a corner of the bed. He has a sweet face and I will often find him watching me. This is one nice little dog. He is currently undergoing heartworm treatment and will be ready for adoption in a month.

DaisyPH ID: #57
Daisy is sweet fawn female. We estimate she is between 3 to 4 years old. This poor little girl was abandoned by her owners – when they moved out of their house they just left her behind in the backyard! We cannot understand why anyone would do that to this sweetheart. She deserves so much better.

Daisy has been spayed and is in good health. She does have a 'small' left eye – the eye does not work. However, it doesn’t cause her any problems and she does not even need drops or ointment for it. Daisy has been brought up to date on her vaccinations and has been microchipped.

Daisy’s foster Mom describes her as 'shy and loving.' She gets on well with other dogs and has been housebroken. She will make a great pet. This little girl needs a loving home that will promise to love her forever and never leave her behind!

Daisy 2PH ID: #417
Daisy is a fawn female. She comes to us from a local animal control facility. We believe she is between 3 to 4 years old. She is heartworm positive. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations.

DakotaPH ID: #837
Dakota is a 2 year old female. She came to us from a local shelter after she was found wandering on a busy street. Dakota came with some baggage and we are helping her to know love and affection. She is doing well and seems to be housebroken. Dakota was treated for intestinal parasite and is heartworm negative. Dakota is a love and craves human attention and companionship. She needs a calmer home where she can be the cuddle bug that she wishes. Dakota is interested in a soft bed, loving human and a place where she will be the princess she knows she is forever.

DalePH ID: #686
Dale is a fawn male. He is 3 years old and comes to us from a local animal control facility. He appears to be in good health and is heartworm negative.

Hi – I’m Dale! I am a 3 year old male, a very handsome one if I may say so myself. Well, actually that’s what my foster mom tells me anyway. I’m a big guy who loves to play with toys & snuggle. My foster mom says that I’m a big love bug…I thought I was a pug – but that’s what she keeps calling me! I don’t care if you are another dog, or a human, just snuggle with me! It is my most favorite thing to do. I am healthy, and have very good house manners. I haven’t had any accidents at my foster home – so I guess that’s a good thing! Although I haven’t been around little 2 legged people, I think I’d do great with them because I am gentle with food & treats – and I just love people all around! There’s a really bossy dog in my foster home – but I don’t care – I let him be the boss, I don’t need to be the alpha guy. So please, consider making me a permanent love bug, I mean pug, in your family!! I would especially like a home with other dogs so I could snuggle with them while you are away from home. :-)

DallasPH ID: #230
Dallas is a 4 year old fawn male. He was an owner surrender. He has been brought up to date on his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. He is heartworm negative. He is one big fella who is now on a diet!

Dallas is a very active and social pug. He enjoys playing around with other dogs and would do well in a multi-pug household. Though he is housebroken he is still learning not to mark. As he is just recently neutered this is not surprising. His training is coming along very well though. He is a sweet boy but he is a bundle of energy - no couch potato here!

DaniPH ID: #268
Dani is a 5 year old fawn female mix who came to us from a local shelter. Dani is moderately heartworm positive and is beginning treatment. She has been brought current on her vaccinations, microchipped and spayed.

From Dani's Foster: Dani is a wonderful little pug mix. I truly think she is a pug/dachshund. She has a long low body with short muscular legs but she has a pug face, pug coat, and curly tail. She has the most beautiful brown eyes. And she is Longhorn orange (Sorry Aggies!). Her coat is soft and she loves to sit in your lap to get some good scratching. She joined my family of 3 dogs very easily, and her potty-training moved along smoothly, so I can say she appears to be housebroken.

She is a very mild-mannered dog but she does know how to play. She walks well on the leash. She is friendly with everyone I have introduced her to. People can't resist picking her up and hugging her. She is a wonderful companion dog.

DanielPH ID: #700
Daniel is a fawn male. We believe he is about 4 years old. He was found wandering in a field with Mara. Daniel was heartworm positive and has been treated. He has done well and is ready for a forever home. He had a large mass on his back leg that was removed and we were happy to find out that is was benign.

Daniel is a happy boy that loves other dogs and people. He has a beautiful dark expressive face. He is looking for a family that is fairly active and ready to make him a part of their family and lives forever.

DaphnePH ID: #836
From Daphne's foster: Daphne is new to my home, but is a doll. She has earned the nickname Chirpy. She does not seem to bark, but has a cute little chirp sound that she makes when she wants your attention. Daphne was found wandering as a stray. She is heartworm negative and seems to be a great health. She loves people and other pugs. She is a little shadow and will follow you all over the house and yard. Daphne likes to play with soft toys and enjoys the outdoors, but would rather be with you. She is a smaller pug at about 15 pounds. Daphne is looking for her fairy tale ending. Are you her Prince or Princess Charming?

DavePH ID: #58
Dave is an adorable fawn male. He is between 1 1/2 years to 2 year old. He was found wandering the streets by a Good Samaritan who contacted us to find him a home. He has now been microchipped and brought current on his vaccinations. He will be neutered prior to placement. He is in excellent health.

This little cutie is a sweet boy who loves people and attention. He is very well behaved. He gets on well with other dogs and even cats! In fact, he seems to get along with everyone. Dave is going to make some lucky person one fabulous companion.

DavidsonPH ID: #367
Davidson is a 4 year old fawn male. He was an owner surrender with his littermate Harley. They are very bonded and need to stay together. He is in good health and is heartworm negative. He is up to date on his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered.

From Davidson's foster: Davidson, who we call Davey for short, is the more docile of the Harley Davidson duo. He looks to Harley for guidance, and leadership, but doesn't get into as much stuff as Harley does. He's a lover, but it takes him a little longer to trust someone, however once he does, he is your friend for life. He enjoys being around humans, but doesn't really like to be picked up, and held. He loves to chew on his Kong, and sleep next to his brother Harley. He gets along well with other dogs, even little vicious Chihuahuas!

Davey is quiet, and while he enjoys exploring around the house, he doesn't really like being in the grass. He's a sweetheart, and the Harley Davidson Duo will be a great pair for someone who wants a loving pair of pugs with real personality!

DeannaPH ID: #59
DeAnna is a gorgeous fawn female. She is an owner surrender who is 7 years old. She is current on all vaccinations and microchipped. She will be spayed prior to placement. She is in excellent health.

DeAnna is a friendly, loving girl who is very well behaved. She gets along beautifully with other dogs and would do well in a multi-dog environment. She also absolutely loves kids and would be very happy in a home with children to play with! She is housebroken and leash trained. Right now DeAnna is a little bit on the pudgy side, so she could stand to lose a pound or two. But otherwise she is ready for her new home and new adventures.

Dee DeePH ID: #518
Dee Dee is a 6 year old black female. She is heartworm negative. She is current on her vaccinations, microchipped and spayed.

From Dee's foster: Dee is a sweet girl that wants nothing more than to be a cuddle buddy.

She is a gentle soul that loves to be with her human every moment she has the opportunity. She likes to wrestle (gently) with her chew toys and foster roommate, but knows when it's time to settle down. If she had her choice she would lounge around most of the day, but never passes the opportunity for a nice day in the yard. She sleeps well through the night and prefers to snuggle under the blankets with her human. She does exceptionally well with children, cats, and other dogs. She is a charming little lady that would suit any family well, especially one that wants to shower her with affection, because she sure deserves it.

DeeganPH ID: #493
Hi! My name is Deegan...........and I am a HOARDER! My hoarding item of choice is anything plush with a squeaker. I live to destroy squeaky toys, I know it's a problem, which is why I attend hoarders anonymous meetings on a regular basis. I am a 2 year old neutered male, who is looking for the home with the most toys. I have an eye condition that requires drops once a day, but that doesn't stop me from finding toys or food, or even my foster mom's doggie door. I have very limited vision, but have a very positive, happy go lucky personality despite that fact! I am severe heart worm positive, and will be undergoing treatment as soon as Pughearts can get me some medicine. I love to sleep on the bed with my mom, and my two new pug friends, and even the cat! I potty outside, and only occasionally piddle in the house. I really like kids, and they seem to like me which is good because they don't seem to mind when I give them puggie kisses. I've got lots of love to give.....if you've got the squeaky toys!! :)

DeltaPH ID: #229
Delta is a 4 year old fawn female. She was an owner surrender. She is current on her vaccinations, microchipped and spayed. She is heartworm negative.

Delta is a tiny 4-year old pug (only 11 lbs) who is a bundle of energy. She loves to play with stuffed toys, and will often go to sleep with her mouth firmly holding onto a part of a toy. She also enjoys rawhide chews and bones. Delta loves to jump up in one's lap and go to sleep; she sleeps soundly, and has a really big snore for such a little dog. She loves to go on walks.

She has been living in her foster home as one of 5 dogs. She has changed and improved a lot. Initially she was aggressive, particularly around feeding time, but she seems to have settled in as part of the pack now. She does well going on walks with them, and will cuddle up when all are sleeping around the living room. Delta has picked up on the sit command, and she is improving on leash walking. She feels comfortable in her "pack" and gets on well with her foster siblings, but does not like meeting strange dogs. With continued socialization we hope to see that improve.

She is a sweet little dog who is focused on her humans. She is all pug in her interest in food but she is also a little underweight. Kept on a schedule Delta is improving in potty training but she definitely needs to go more often. She would do best in a home where she would be let out often or have a doggie door. She is an early riser. She is sweet, and wants love and attention.

DennettPH ID: #526
Dennett is a fawn female. She is an owner surrender through no fault of her own. She is 9 years old. She is in good health. She is heartworm negative, spayed, microchipped and current on her vaccinations.

From Dennett's foster: Dennett continues to be an absolute joy. She is such a little sweetheart! Dennett (Also known as Ginger) is a petite lady with a beautiful little face, sweet brown eyes, and a lovely personality to match. True to pug form, she loves to shadow her person, enjoys walks, naps and treats, and has never met a stranger. Dennett is very adaptable and easygoing. She would do well in a home with other dogs and with children but would also be a great "only child." She has plenty of love to give you-don't you want to give some back to her?

DerrickPH ID: #472
Derrick is a 3 year old black male. He is recently neutered.

DexterPH ID: #329

DiamondPH ID: #527
Diamond is a fawn female. She comes to us from a local puppy mill. She is 5 years old but her body has been through a lot in that time. She has now been spayed and is current on her vaccinations. She is heartworm negative.

From Diamond's foster: Meet Miss Diamond. She sure is a gem of a girl. Diamond came to us from a puppy mill, so she hasn't had a very good life thus far. It thankfully has not killed her spirit though. Now that she knows how a pug SHOULD be treated - she has really come around and is loving the attention. She has a sweet face with a tongue that partially sticks out about 95% of the time. She could melt you with her pouty look. She is a pretty calm gal, although she does have her moments that prompt her to zip around the back yard or roll around on her back. She recently has found the enjoyment of chewing on a bone - this is always such a special thing when puppy mill dogs learn what fun toys are! J She has also learned how nice it is to sleep on a big comfy bed! Diamond does very well with other dogs.

Diamond is heartworm negative, and overall very healthy. Her poor paws are pretty spread out from spending most of her life in a wire crate (with no bottom). The cysts that were between her toes are going away thankfully, and she is not in any pain. She is actually doing pretty well with housebreaking. She knows to go outside, but hasn't quite learned how to 'tell us' that she has to go. She's getting there though! She uses a piddle pad when we are gone during long periods of time, as we prefer not to crate her any more.

DiggerPH ID: #61
Meet Digger. Digger is a 2 year old fawn male. This little guy was picked up by animal control. When his owner failed to claim him, we were called to find him a new home. This cutie is in great health, with just a small ulcer to one of his eyes which is currently being treated and should present no further problems. He is heartworm negative and has been started on preventative. He has been neutered, microchipped and brought up to date on his vaccinations.

Digger seems to get on well with other dogs and certainly loves people - though he hates being crated (who can blame him?) He is a sweet boy with personality plus and such an expressive face. How can you resist him?

DillPH ID: #381
Dill is a Pug/Brussels Griffon mix male. Basically, he is a fuzzy Pug! He is about 1 year old. He is heartworm negative and in good health. He has been neutered, microchipped and brought up to date on his vaccinations.

Dill is a player and a cuddler. He loves to explore new places and people. He would do best in an active home with lots of people to play with him.

DivaPH ID: #252
Diva is a 2 year old fawn female. She was an owner surrender due to her severe heartworm positive status. She has been brought current on her vaccinations and microchipped. She has been spayed.

DixiePH ID: #695
Dixie is a fawn female. She is 6 years old. She is an owner surrender. She is spayed, microchipped and current on her vaccinations. She is in excellent health. Dixie BellePH ID: #696
Dixie Belle is a black female. She was found as a stray with no tags or microchip. We believe she is between 1 to 3 years old. She is severe heartworm positive. She has been spayed, microchipped and brought current on her vaccinations.

From Dixie Belle's foster: Meet this little cutie, Dixie Belle! Dixie is about 3 years old and as you can see, is a beautiful little girl! She is playful and sweet, and loves to snuggle with her people. She does get along well with other dogs, but she does tend to have alpha tendencies, so would do better with more laid back, submissive dogs. Dixie is perfectly house trained - she'll even let you know when she has to go outside. Dixie is heartworm positive, and has started the treatment process. This little beauty will make a great addition to your home!!

DocPH ID: #763
Doc is a 4 year old fawn male. He was found wandering the streets with no tags or microchip. He is in overall good health; he is heartworm negative. He was found with really itchy skin and seems to have a flea allergy but now that he is free from fleas he is feeling much better.

From Doc's foster: Doc a sweet boy. He's a skinny guy right now, but he works on hard on correcting that every time he eats! He isn't very interested in toys, but he likes playing with other dogs, and he absolutely adores children. He is very focused on people and belly rubs and thinks pug kisses aren't worth the bother if he can't give them directly on your face! He loves carrots and knows he has to sit to get one, but he has no idea why I say, "What's up, Doc?" before I give him one. His favorite place is wherever in the house I am. Doc would love a forever family with children.

DollyPH ID: #63
Dolly is a 5 year old fawn female. This sweet girl is an owner surrender through no fault of her own. Her momma has had to go into assisted living and that means Dolly must find a new momma. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on all of her vaccinations. She has a slight ear infection right now but that is being treated. She is in otherwise good health, though it appears that she hasn't been taken care of quite as well as she should have. A little TLC will take care of that though.

Dolly is a very good girl. Right now she is a bit reserved - probably since she's unsure of what is going on. But she is quite curious and not afraid to check new things out. She is housebroken and though she was an only dog, she does get along beautifully with other dogs. She would do well as either an only dog or as part of a group. All Dolly really needs is someone who wants to love on her and make sure she gets the attention and TLC she deserves.

Doodle BugPH ID: #746
Doodle Bug is a fawn female. She comes to us from a local animal control facility. We believe she is about 3 years old. She is heartworm positive and will begin treatment shortly. She is a petite girl at only 12 lbs but she is full of spirit.

DoriPH ID: #674
Dori is a fawn female. She was found with no tags or microchip. We believe she is about 3 years old. She is heartworm negative. She has been brought current on her vaccinations and microchipped. She will be spayed prior to placement.

From Dori's foster: She is a gem. She is a super sweet, well-rounded little girl. I feel like I can't say enough good things about her, when I first got her she was shy and leery of a lot of things and now she has opened up and just has so much love to give. She is very playful with my other dogs, and she also likes to cuddle with them and with me. She sleeps on the bed with me, she likes to dig herself under the covers and curl up right next to me. She can't jump onto the bed herself so we have a game we play, I kneel down and she comes and runs into my arms like I'm her prince charming. She is house broken and knows how to use the dog door, she is a very well mannered little girl, I never have to fuss at her. Anyone who takes this beautiful little girl home will be lucky to have such a beauty, inside and out, living with them.

DougPH ID: #565
This is Doug the Pug. He is a 2 year old fawn male. He was an owner surrender. He is in good health; he is heartworm negative, neutered and current on his vaccinations. He is happy and VERY active! He is working on his house manners and will need some reinforcement. He is ready for his new home and new life!

DougiePH ID: #65
Dougie is a sweet little fawn puppy who is estimated to be about 5 months old. He was found wandering the streets and taken to a local animal shelter. He has been brought up to date on all of his vaccinations, microchipped and will be neutered before placement.

Right now Dougie is suffering from a severe case of demodectic mange. Dougie is on antibiotics and is receiving medicated baths to help clear his skin. He has tested negative for worms and, thankfully, heartworms. He is now on heartworm preventative.

Now that Dougie is feeling better, we can see the puppy in him coming out to play! He is a sweet little character who is full of mischief and playfulness - just as a puppy should be. Of course he isn't housetrained and he doesn't follow commands too well, but that is to be expected given his age. Dougie needs someone who will treat him just like any other puppy - because underneath he IS like any other puppy. He needs a lot of love, caring and patience so he can grow to be your best friend.

DudleyPH ID: #66
Dudley is a fawn male. He is 5 years old. He was an owner surrender through no fault of his own. He is heartworm negative. He is current on his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered.

Dudley came to us with an injury to his tail which required partial amputation. However, that has healed beautifully and he is now ready for adoption. He is a sweet boy who loves soft toys. Playing fetch and tug of war are his favorites. He walks wel on a lead and is housetrained. He gets on well with other dogs but isn't much for playing with them. He prefers to have love and attention of a human for a companion.

DukePH ID: #613
Duke is a black male. He is 8 years old. He is an owner surrender through no fault of his own. He is in excellent health. He is heartworm negative. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

From Duke's foster: Duke appears to have spent a good amount of time alone because he feels most secure right now in his dog pen area. We can leave the door to the pen open and he will go in on his own. Duke needed to work on house manners in the first few days of joining his foster home but he has learned the dog door and has made fast progress in that area. Sweet dog who loves to be near his humans but is not interacting terribly much with the other 4 dogs in the house. He absolutely loves going on walks and we are totaling 1 mile a day since he could stand to lose a pound or two. He just wants to do what a pug loves to do, and that is to be a companion to his human family.

Update on Duke: Duke has lost a pound with his twice daily walks and is looking great. He spends more time with the other dogs in the house than before but still likes spending time with his humans best. I can see him as a wonderful companion dog to an individual or couple who are home at least part-time. LOVES to sit right up beside me on the sofa.

DuncanPH ID: #462
Duncan is a fawn male. He was found without any tags or microchip wandering with another dog. We believe he is about 4 years old. He is suffering from a bad case of demodectic mange for which he is undergoing treatment. He is heartworm negative. He has been brought current on vaccinations and microchipped. He has been neutered.

From Duncan's foster: Duncan is a fun little guy with a big heart! He has quite a bit of energy but at the same time, settles down quickly when its cuddle time on the couch (he is a great cuddler). He came to us 100% potty-trained and knowing how to sit for food and treats. He is happiest with a nylabone in his mouth playing keep-away from the other dogs. He attached himself pretty quickly to one of my pugs and they are now inseparable. He would probably do best in a multiple dog home. He doesn't bark much, but when he does you find yourself asking "When did we get a Labrador?" Once his mange clears up, we know he will be a very beautiful puggie. In fact, we think he already is. How could you resist that face?

DustinPH ID: #67
Dustin is a handsome fawn male. He is 3 years old. He was an owner surrender through no fault of his own. He is in excellent health. He has been brought current on vaccinations, microchipped and neutered.

Dustin is a sweet boy who hasn't received all the care and TLC he should have. Since he was an only dog and hasn't been socialized much, he is a bit anxious about being around other dogs and people. Though he is adapting well and seems to be coming out of his shell. Also since he has just been neutered, he is still a bit 'amorous' with the ladies but that should settle down soon. He would do well in a home as an only dog or with one or two siblings. He also really responds well to men, so a male owner or co-owner would be preferred. Of course all of this could change now that he is in foster care and is being exposed to new situations. We will update his profile as we discover how he responds to his new life.

EarlPH ID: #405
Earl is a black male. He is about 1 year old. He comes to us from a local animal control as he was picked up in an animal cruelty investigation. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

From his foster: Earl is a very sweet, gentle little pug. He was a cruelty case and so he isn't as outgoing as most pugs but he has improved drastically from the shaking ball of black fur I picked up from the vet. However, he is the most loving little guy; he will take all the hugs and kisses he can get. As cute as he is in his pictures, he's even more cute in person. He looks at me with such intelligence in his eyes that I really wish he could tell me what he's thinking. I know we could have some really good conversations. He does like to play but he's not over the top. Earl seems to know that he's going to be in a good place from now on and he's doing very well in all areas. He seems to be housetrained and he doesn't bark or lick. He's very fond of jumping in bed at night and settling down for the night, that didn't take him long to learn at all. He has to go through the HW treatment but if you will wait until he's healthy you'll be a very lucky human to have him. Like the saying goes, Good things come to those who wait.

EinsteinPH ID: #768
Einstein is a fawn male. He comes to us from a local animal control facility. We believe he is about 4 years old. He is severe heartworm positive and will begin treatment shortly. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccinations.

From Einstein's foster: Einstein is a very happy and adorable boy. He is very easy going and easy to enjoy. He's very bright (hence the name) and when he isn't contemplating relativity or thermodynamics, he's engaged in making himself a fixture in our household. He gets along perfectly with our pug Dot (and she's not all that easy to get along with). He is very gentle and super cuddly. He loves sleeping on my bed and he doesn't snore! Einstein is eager to please and so well behaved. He waits for permission before coming in from outside or jumping on the couch.

Each day I'm finding myself blown away by this super awesome pug. Just today I discovered that Einstein has mad dance moves, he adds spinning to his 'tuck-butt-and-run' dash. It's so funny I fall over laughing. He's brilliant and wonderfully silly at the same time.

EliPH ID: #68
Eli is a sweet fawn male pup. He is just 12 months old. Poor little Eli has had a rough start to life. He came to us from a local animal shelter where he had been found wandering the streets. He appears to have been hit by a car as he has a fracture to his left leg and his jaw has been broken in 2 places. It appears that his jaw is healing and he has no difficulty eating or playing. Our vet is evaluating the leg injury to see if surgical repair is needed. He is currently suffering from a skin condition which will resolve with medicated baths. His fur will grow back in no time. Eli is heartworm negative and is current on his vaccinations. He has been neutered.

Despite all that Eli has been through, he still is a happy, loving, playful boy. He is housebroken and eager to please. He will follow you everywhere and just wants to be loved.

ElliePH ID: #307
Ellie is a black female. She was an owner surrender through no fault of her own. Though she is only 1 year old, she was surrendered to us just after giving birth to a litter of puppies. She was surrendered without her pups. She will be spayed prior to placement. She is in good health and is heartworm negative. She has been microchipped and is current on her vaccinations.

Ellie 2PH ID: #416
Ellie is a fawn female. She comes to us from a local animal control facility. We believe she is about 3 years old. She appears to be in good health. She is heartworm negative. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations.

From Ellie's foster: Ellie is a very sweet, gentle little girl, and a fine example of what a beautiful Pug looks like! She gets along well with her new furry family as well as her human family. She is one of the first pugs I have ever taken care of that doesn't have a big appetite. She just nibbles at her food and makes it last quite a while. She has eye medicine that needs to be put in her eyes twice a day and she is beginning to become use to this. It takes them a while to learn that you aren't going to hurt them when you are taking care of their eyes.

When she first arrived it took her a day or so to get use to the large number of other dogs, she was quite intimidated by the enthusiam they displayed at meeting her and she growled at them occassionally. She has gotten over that hurdle now and is quite comfortable. She is very partial to me, she loves to be close to me at all times. She doesn't play very much, she just wants to have human contact. She will be a great companion for someone that wants a beautiful cuddle bunny. She will do well as an only pet or with a brother or sister.

EllingtonPH ID: #699
Ellington is a fawn male. He comes to us from a local animal control facility. He is only 2 years old, but it looks like it's been a pretty rough 2 years for this poor little guy. As you can see from his photo, he is suffering from a painful case of mange. This is totally treatable and should clear with proper medication, allowing him to look like the handsome puggy he really is. Amazingly, he is heartworm negative and in otherwise good health except for an ulcer on his eye that is now healing. He has not been neutered but will be soon. He has been brought current on his vaccinations and microchipped.

EmmaPH ID: #716
Emma is a fawn female. She comes to us from a local animal control facility. She is about 4 years old. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations. She is moderately heartworm positive and will begin treatment shortly. She also has some patchy hair loss which could be from allergies or poor diet.

EppiePH ID: #247
Eppie is a beautiful 4 year old black female. She is an owner surrender. Eppie has been spayed, microchipped and is current on all of her vaccinations. She is heartworm negative.

EricPH ID: #503
Eric is a fawn male. He was found wandering the streets with no tags or microchip. We believe he is about 7 or 8 months old. He is heartworm negative and has been neutered. He is a very skinny little guy who is suffering from hookworms. He is being treated and they should be clear soon. He is doing very well in his foster home and has started to put on some weight. He is working on his house training and doing very well learning to live indoors. He gets on well with children.

ErikPH ID: #766
Erik is about 2 years old. He is super cute and full of playful energy. He loves to play with toys, chase frogs, and play with his foster puggie sisters. Erick does have his cuddly side. He always naps near his foster people and sleeps in bed with us. He has excellent manners in the house. He loves to go in the car and is very happy to meet new people and dogs. Erik is mild heart-worm positive. This does not seem to slow him down or bother him at all. He has been faithfully taking his Heartguard since becoming a PugHearts dog. Erik has a face that makes us laugh even when he is stealing my gardening gloves! He is just wonderful and can't wait to find his forever home.

FaithPH ID: #71
Faith is a sweet fawn female, approximately 1 1/2 years old. She came to us from a local shelter, so we do not know anything about her past. However, it looks like it was pretty sad. She has had to have her left eye removed as it was in such bad condition. She has been spayed. She is current on all of her vaccinations and has been microchipped. She is housebroken and would do well in a home with a doggy door.

Faith is really in need of some human affection and loves to be doted upon. She is a sweet little girl who gets along very well with children. She enjoys going for walks and playing with kiddies. She is a wonderful girl who would do very well in a home with children.

FelizPH ID: #563
Feliz is a fawn female. She is 2 years old and was found wandering the streets with no microchip or tags. A good Samaritan found her and contacted us. They named her Feliz which means Happy in Spanish, and it really fits her! She is sweet and very playful.

FinnPH ID: #356
Finn is a fawn male who comes to us from a local animal shelter. We estimate he is 2 to 3 years old. Right now he has some itchy skin but he is being treated for that. He also has a pretty bad ear infection which is being treated. He is heartworm negative and has been neutered. He is up to date on his vaccinations and microchipped.

FinneganPH ID: #705
Finnegan is a fawn male. He comes to us from a local animal control facility. He is heartworm positive and has an ulcer on his right eye. He has been brought current on his vaccinations and neutered as well as microchipped.

FlipPH ID: #311
Flip is a black male. We estimate he is about 2 years old. He is heartworm negative. He is current on his vaccinations and has been microchipped. This poor little guy was found on the streets after being hit by a car. He was suffering from a fractured pelvis and 3 broken ribs. We are very happy to report that he has now made a full recovery and is back to being a healthy, happy, mischievious puggy! We have discovered this boy likes to dig holes under fences, so he would do best in a home where he gets his exercise while being walked on a lead. He's a beautiful boy who has been given a new lease on life and he's anxious to live it!

FonduePH ID: #812
Fondue is a 3 year old brindle female. She was found wandering the streets all alone.

She is heartworm negative and everything a person could hope for.

FooPH ID: #827
Foo (or Fu) is a black male. He is an owner surrender through no fault of his own. He is 10 years old. He is heartworm negative. He is suffering from some itchy skin right now but we are treating that and he should heal up nicely.

From Foo's foster: Foo is a sweet, gentle pug. He is very quiet and gets along well with dogs and cats. He is an older pug, so he does play, but also loves to sleep! He will follow you around the house, as he is inquisitive! He is fully potty trained, walks on a leash, and knows a few commands. He is not an alpha male and has shown no aggression. He has skin issues/allergies and will need care and attention to his needs..

FozzyPH ID: #72
Fozzy is an adorable young fawn male. He appears to be a pug mix, though we aren't sure with what! He was found wandering the streets, so not much is known about him. He has been checked by our vet and has no health issues. He has been neutered, microchipped and brought up to date on all of his vaccinations. He is negative for heartworms and has been started on a preventative.

We are estimating he is around 1 year old, which means he still has quite a lot of puppy in him. As such, he is very active. He gets along very well with other dogs, though nobody appears to have taught him how to play with toys. As he is so young and has obviously had no training, he does not know any commands.

He is not presently housebroken, but he seems to be a quick learner so that should not be an issue. His foster parents are in the process of training him and with the guidance of his foster siblings we believe he'll catch on quickly. He also rides well in a car. His foster parents report that he is very sweet and loves affection. Fozzy is ready to find his forever home with someone who is ready for the challenges and rewards that come with a young fellow like himself.

Fozzy BearPH ID: #351
Fozzy Bear is a healthy, fawn, neutered male who is about 17 months old. He is heartworn negative and is current on all of his vaccinations. He is an owner surrender, and we believe by appearance and behavior to have been part of a puppy mill. He shows signs that he has had limited and or negative human contact, though has never shown any aggressive tendencies. He has not lived inside a home before now and is learning basic training and behaviors. We are currently working on housebreaking and the sit command. He is progressing slowly and will need a calm and patient family to help him along. New sounds can startle him but his young age and curious nature helps him overcome those fears quickly. When Fozzy first meets a new person, he is shy and a bit jumpy. But quickly opens up becoming loving and affectionate towards people and other dogs. He gets along with kids, but is cautious around very active ones and may need a calm lap to lie in.

FrankiPH ID: #557
Franki is a fawn female. She is 7 years old and is an owner surrender. She is heartworm negative. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations. She is blind but is in good health overall.

From Franki's foster: She is blind, but does not realize this is not normal. Franki seems to "see" with her ears and feet. She does not run into things and is a very active girl. She loves to cuddle and be with her people, at home and out on the town. Franki has some skin allergies and will need to be kept flea free and on quality food. We are told she has a history of seizures, but we have seen to signs of this being an active problem. Franki is a special needs pug. However, she needs more love and cuddling than she does intensive medical care.

FrankiePH ID: #73
Frankie is a 2 year old black male. He is an owner surrender through no fault of his own. Frankie has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations. He in in excellent health.

Frankie is a very happy, energetic young guy. He still has a bit of puppy in him and loves to play. He is housetrained and knows some basic commands.

Frankie 2PH ID: #380
Frankie is a fawn female. She is 6 1/2 years old. She was an owner surrender along with her brother Johnny due to famly circumstances. They have been together since they were babies and are extremely bonded. We will not separate them and will be adopting them out as a pair. Frankie has been spayed and is current on her vaccinations. She is in excellent health. She is housebroken and well behaved.

Franklin 2PH ID: #327
Franklin is a black male. He is 5 years old. He is an owner surrender through no fault of his own. He is heartworm negative and in good health except for being a bit "fluffy." He is now on a diet to help him cope with the Texas heat. We will let you know how he's doing with his battle of the bulge.

FranniePH ID: #594
Frannie is a fawn female. She comes to us from a local shelter and is about 4 years old. Frannie has not been looked after and when she came to us both of her eyes had ruptured. We were unable to save them so they were removed to avoid any further pain. We are happy to report she is doing quite well.

From Frannie's foster: Frannie is one happy little girl. Life hasn't been overly kind to her thus far but that doesn't bother her! The day I brought her home after her surgery she was running around the house like she had lived there forever. In fact, the first time I let her go outside she found the door to get back in all by herself. She has super powered hearing now and just the sound of me walking tells her where I am and she trots along at my heels.

Seeing how she has adapted to her new life is quite inspiring. She loves to be close to me and will jump on the couch to sit with me or jump down to follow me when I get up. She absolutely LOVES to sleep with me. When it's time to go to bed she will go into my bedroom and put her front paws on the bed waiting for me to give her a little assist (the rest of them need help getting up also) Then I have to fight for my space the rest of the night because she just keeps moving over to get close to me.

Frannie walks well on a leash and loves to go bye bye in the car. She is also housetrained. I have taught her that "careful" means she's in danger of running into something and she will slow down or jog to the side to miss whatever it is. We're also working on "up" and "down" for steps. It is totally amazing how well she has adjusted! Her happy, loving spirit is thriving. Frannie doesn't need special care or attention. However she is very demanding in the love department. I think she will do well in any situation. She gets on well with the other dogs, loves people and I think she would adore children. All Frannie needs is a home to keep her safe and give her love.

FreddyPH ID: #318
Freddy is a fawn male. He is about 18 months old. He is neutered, microchipped and current on his vaccinations. He is in excellent health; he is heartworm negative.

From Freddy's foster: Freddy is very playful and full of energy. He likes to play fetch, knows how to "sit" and how to use a doggy door. He feels comfortable in a crate and is being reinforced in his house training. He is a sweet boy who likes to cuddle as well as play. He gets along well with children and other dogs. Freddy would do best with another dog to play with.

FreemanPH ID: #449
Freeman is a black male. We believe he is between 10 to 12 years old. He came to us from a puppy mill where he was used for breeding. He has now been neutered and can enjoy his "retirement." He had a bad case of hookworms but that has cleared with medication. He does have some vision and hearing limitations. He is current on his vaccinations and has been microchipped. He is heartworm negative.

From Freeman's foster: Meet Freeman! He is a very sweet, snuggly, little old man. Freeman came to us from a horrific puppy mill situation. We expect that he has lived most of his life outside. Despite this, he's doing pretty well adjusting to his new life indoors. He actually seems to be housebroken. He doesn't see or hear very well, but he still gets around quite well. He has no other known health issues. He loves to be held and loved, I guess he's making up for lost time. He gets along with other dogs and doesn't bother cats either! Freeman needs a special someone who is willing to give him lots of love for the rest of his life!

FreewayPH ID: #788
My name is Freeway and I'm an 18 month old fawn boy and full of energy! I like to play chase, tug of war, and chew on bones. I can make my ears stand straight up sometimes both, sometimes one or the other. I'm current on my shots, heartworm negative; micro chipped and neutered. I'm pretty good about going potty outside, but every now and then I might have an accident. When I tire myself out, I like to sit in my fosters' lap and be petted while I sleep. I know how to use a doggy door and I tolerate being crated. I like to sleep in the big bed when I'm allowed.

I'm very grateful that a nice lady stopped me from entering the freeway and called PugHearts to find me a new home. Will you be my forever home?

FritzPH ID: #420
Fritz is a fawn male. Though this poor little guy is only around 2 years old, it's obvious that he has had a very rough life so far. He was found lying on the side of the road. He has a possible broken pelvis. He also has bullet fragments in his leg. As if that's not bad enough he is suffering from a severe case of demodectic mange which has left his skin infected from his constant scratching. He is also suffering from hookworms and whipworms which are so bad that he is anemic. He has ulcers on both of his eyes. And just to add insult to injury, he is severe heartworm positive. He has a very long road to recovery and we plan to do our very best to get him as healthy as possible.

It comes as no surprise given that people have obviously not treated him very well in his life that he is timid around people. However, he has a really sweet disposition. We will be posting updates on him throughout his recovery.

GabbyPH ID: #75
Gabby is a fawn girl we estimate to be 7 years old. She was found wandering the streets by a family who took her in but could not keep her. Though it broke their hearts, they decided she needed more care than they could give and contacted a shelter who put them in touch with us.

Due to her appearance when she was found, she had been dubbed 'Grubby.' We felt she needed a more positive name and have begun calling her 'Gabby.'

Poor little Gabby was in obvious discomfort and was taken to our Vet for a check-up. It turns out she had 3 large kidney stones which together were about the size of a tennis ball. She was immediately admitted to the Veterinarian's clinic for emergency surgery.

We are happy to report that Gabby has come through the surgery with flying colors! She is recovering well and has gained 2 pounds since her operation. As anyone who saw her at the PugNic can attest, she is now a bundle of energy. We are thrilled to report that her prognosis is excellent!

The surgery has cost PugHearts of Houston around $800 not including aftercare. Unfortunately we still need your help on this one. We simply do not have the funds available at this time to pay for this treatment. The family who found Gabby expressed concern that if we were aware of her need for treatment we would not have accepted her. PugHearts accepts any Pug - regardless of condition. We are asking for your help to allow us to continue to keep this promise.

Due to the urgent nature, the surgery was performed immediately rather than waiting for funds. Thankfully our vet has graciously agreed to work with us as we raise funds to cover the costs.

GabbyPH ID: #789
Gabby is a beautiful black female whose name fits her perfectly, she loves to gab! Gabby is rambunctious, full of life, has a spunky little attitude, and loves to talk. Gabby loves to play and is often mischievous, stealing toys from our other Pugs while they are playing with them. Gabby also has a curious little habit of moving toys that are lying in a pile in our living room into our bedroom and making a new pile. Gabby is crate trained and loves to sleep in her kennel, despite the fact that our two other Pugs sleep in our bed! Gabby still has a little ways to go when it comes to obedience training, but she rarely has accidents in our house and often walks to the back door when she needs to go outside. It appears Gabby is also working on learning human language, as she stares at people when they speak to her, perks up her ears, and turns her head from side to side. I challenge anyone to meet little Gabby and resist falling hopelessly in love with her.

GenePH ID: #358
Gene is a fawn male. He is 2 years old. He is heartworm negative. He has been neutered, microchipped and brought current on his vaccinations. He is in good health. Gene is a happy, high energy guy. He loves to play chase and if nobody will chase him he will chase his own tail!

From Gene's foster: Gene is a bundle of energy! He enjoys running around outside, playing fetch with the ball, and being chased around by the other dogs. He gets along well with everyone here, and would do fine in a household with an Alpha dog since he is more of a follower than a leader! Gene has no problem being vocal, and telling you when he wants something. I'm sure pretty soon he is going to actually say a complete sentence! When he's not playing, Gene wants to be a lap dog, and will curl up just right to fit on your lap. He is definitely a lover not a fighter, with a tongue that is a mile long and wants to kiss you constantly! He uses the doggy door with no problems, and has never had an accident in the house! We are working now on basic commands, and when he's not too excited, he seems to be picking up on them pretty fast. Gene is a wonderful dog, always wanting to please, and will make an outstanding pet for someone wanting an energetic dog!!!!!

GeorgePH ID: #76
George is a handsome fawn male who is approximately 1 year old. He was an owner surrender which is a good thing since he was kept outside! He is in good health and has no known medical problems. He has been brought up to date on his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered.

George is a sweet little guy but is a bit timid. He is going to need a family that will have the love and patience to teach him all he needs to know. He will need to be housebroken as well as taught cool things like sitting for treats. Given his age, it should not be too difficult to teach him new tricks.

GidgetPH ID: #77
Gidget is a beautiful black female. She was found on the streets and turned into animal control. She is approximately 2 years old.

Gidget has been spayed, microchipped and is current on all of her vaccinations. She is healthy with no known medical issues. She is a very fun loving, playful girl who also enjoys a good snuggle. She is currently paper trained and is being taught to go outside when needed.

She gets along very well with other dogs and does not seem to mind cats. She also enjoys walking a human. She is a sweetie who will make someone a very loving pet.

GigiPH ID: #78
Gigi is an adorable little fawn girl. She came to us from a local shelter so nothing is known about her past life. We estimate she is between 6 to 8 years old. She has been brought current on her vaccinations and microchipped. She will be spayed prior to placement. She appears to have an old injury to her left hip but that does not stop her from walking around just fine. She also seems to have a bit of a skin infection right now (non-contagious) but that will clear quickly with the medicated baths she is getting.

Gigi is a sweetheart of a girl who absolutely loves people. She is a petite little thing who loves to follow you around. She is currently in foster with other dogs and gets on well with the group.

GladysPH ID: #387
Gladys is a black female. She is 9 years old. She has been spayed, microchipped and brought current on her vaccinations.

From Gladys' foster: Gladys is sure a sweet girl. She had been left outside so she is trying heal up from scabs on her skin and what looks like bug bites on her ears. But she has been treated and seems to be healing up just fine. She is an extremely well behaved lady. Gladys was very well fed in her past life so she definitely needs to shed a few pounds. She is house broken and I have yet to hear her bark. She isn't big on playing but likes to be in the couch potatao group and just hang out and be petted. She wants to be held but doesn't quite understand how it works yet, she'll stand on my lap but when I try to have her lay down she's not sure what to do. I think with just a little more attention she will turn into quite a cuddle bug! She is a very loving girl who hasn't received much of it in the past. She just needs someone to take her into their hearts and give her the loving home that she has deserved for years and never had!

GraciePH ID: #79
Gracie is a 1 year old fawn female. She was an owner surrender and it's a good thing too since they were keeping her outside! She seems to be in very good health. She has been brought up to date on her vaccinations and microchipped. She will be spayed prior to placement. She is a bit overweight and will benefit from a healthier diet.

Since Gracie has never lived indoors, she is in need of a bit of training. Her foster mom has been working with her and she is mostly house trained. Due to her past life she has not been well socialized but she did live with a brother, so she would do well in a home with one other dog. Or she would do very well as an only dog. However, she doesn't seem to likes cats much. What she does like is being with humans and being held. This is one little girl who loves to be cuddled.

Gracie 2PH ID: #80
Gracie is a fawn female. She is 3 years old and comes to us from an animal control shelter. She has been brought up to date on her vaccinations, microchipped and spayed.

She had also been suffering from multiple bladder stones which were surgically removed. This should not cause any further problems and the stones can be prevented by a special low Magnesium dog food which is available at any pet store. She is now in excellent health and ready for a new home. She's a very sweet girl who gets on well with other dogs. All she needs now is a special someone to promise to look after her and give her lots of love.

Gracie 3PH ID: #478
Gracie is a black female. She is an owner surrender. She is 2 to 3 years old. She is currently suffering from allergies which is making her skin itchy but is in otherwise good health. She is heartworm negative and current on her vaccinations. She has been spayed and microchipped.

From Gracie's foster: Gracie 3 is a 2 year old black female who was surrendered to us by a vet's office. She has been unlucky in finding a forever home due to recurrent allergies/hot spots (She was surrendered once to the vet's office, and was returned once to us.) She needs to be maintained flea-free, and is currently on a food trial to isolate potential food allergies.

Her skin is healing nicely, and she is an extremely happy, outgoing, athletic little girl. She gets along well with cats and is housebroken, although reluctant to go outside unaccompanied. She loves to play with humans, toys, and other dogs, but is also quite a snuggle-bug. Check out her video on the Pughearts Facebook site: "Pug-Jitsu", and you will see how well she plays. She is submissive to our alpha dog, who delights in washing her face and ears. She loves to play dress-up and gets very excited when she sees you pick up one of her t-shirts. She is very smart, prone to mischief (as are all adolescents), and provides great entertainment and company. She would do better in a home with both two-legged and four-legged playmates.

Gracie 4PH ID: #547
From Gracie's foster: Gracie is a very beautiful, energetic pug. She loves to play but she also loves to cuddle. She came from a life of living in the back yard so it took her awhile to learn what was going on when she first arrived, but true to a pug's love of comfort she adapted quite quickly! If I'm on the couch you can bet that Gracie is there right beside me. Over the last several weeks she has started laying on my lap, when she first arrived she would just stand there without knowing what to do. She does have a marking problem that we are working on and she is making great progress.

When she gets excited she whines and almost wiggles out of her skin!

She is a great companion and will do well with a family or in a home that shows her loads of attention. She gets along well with all her pug siblings and also does well with larger dogs. Gracie is a great little lady and is looking for a loving home.

GretaPH ID: #336
Greta is a black female. She comes to us from a local shelter. We believe she is about 5 years old. She is moderately heartworm postive and will begin treatment shortly. She was suffering from pyometra but has been treated and seems to be feeling better. She is a little overweight and will begin a diet immediately.

From Greta's foster Mom: She is fitting in well with our pack. She's relatively low-key but will not take bullying from our Alpha. She is one of those Velcro dogs - always at your side. She is housebroken (asks to go out) and very even tempered. She knows her name and basic commands. She jumps on & off the couch with no problems and uses a stepstool for the bed. She sleeps in between the pillows and doesn't hog the bed at night. In spite of her "piggy-puggy" nature, she understands waiting for her turn at the communal feeding bowl. Once she gets over her health problems, she'll be the perfect companion!

GretchenPH ID: #394
Gretchen is a 3 year old fawn female. She is an owner surrender due to the fact that she does not get along with cats. She has been spayed and is current on her vaccinations. She is heartworm negative. She is in excellent health.

GretelPH ID: #608
Gretel is a black female. She is 3 years old. She was an owner surrender to a local animal control facility with her brother, Hansel. Gretel is moderate heartworm positive and has begin treatment.

NOTE: Hansel and Gretel are a bonded pair and as such need to be kept together.

From their foster: Like their namesakes, Hansel and Gretel are a pair and they are two of the most beautiful black pugs that I have ever seen! Their coats feel and look like silk and their faces are so dark it's sometimes hard to see their eyes. In fact, it was several minutes before I noticed that Hansel is missing an eye. I have two very bright colored collars on them because at a first glance I sometimes mix them up. Upon a closer look it's very obvious who is who. Gretel is a typical lady (princess is more like it), she is a little smaller than Hansel and her face is much more feminine.

Whereas Hansel looks all boy! His face and body is broader and he is stockier. However, they are both really small pugs, I would guess around 11 - 12 pounds (but they've gained some weight since they came to me). Their dispositions are above reproach. They are the most gentle and loving pugs I have ever fostered. While they get along just fine with all the other fosters, their only desire is to be close to me and be held...both of them. Gretel is more laid back about getting on my lap but she is persistent and will lay her chin on my leg and just stare at me until I pick her up. But Hansel will jump in the middle of whoever is on my lap and settle down after he has made room for himself. They win the 2010 award for Couch Potatoes of the Year! They have had some potty issues since they were in a backyard their entire life but they are making progress and it is only a matter of time before their house manners match their behavior manners.

As a rule having two pugs is a wonderful situation for the pugs and there is that much more love to go around for their humans. While they will play to a certain extent Hansel and Gretel will make a fabulous addition to any family that want the most laid back, gentle pugs that I have ever encountered. They are truly a prized pair!

GrissomPH ID: #731
Grissom is a fawn male. We believe he is about 3 years old. He came to us from a local animal control facility after he was picked up as a stray. He has been neutered. He is in good health; he is heartworm negative. He's a bit timid right now but we will post a full bio once he has settled into his new foster home.

GroverPH ID: #81
This is Grover, a 9-week old pug mix puppy. Unfortunately Grover no longer has his momma and had been taken to a shelter. We believe he is a 'Puggle.' Puggles are one of the new 'designer dogs' where breeders purposely mix two breeds - in this case a Pug and a Beagle.

Grover is a cute little fawn male with the typical black mask of a pug. Since Pugs and Beagles are both small breeds we don't expect that Grover will grow to be a very big guy. Grover is in good health and has had his first 2 sets of vaccinations and worming treatments.

Obviously, since he is a puppy, he is not housebroken or crate trained. He also does not respond to any commands or understand right and wrong yet. He needs a home that is ready for a full-time puppy and everything that this entails. This means constant attention, not being left alone for 8 hours a day, training and cleaning up after. In return for all your hard work you will have a lifelong friend who thinks the world revolves around you. We are looking for an adoptive family who is prepared to and can give all of the above.

GucciPH ID: #440
Gucci is a fawn male. He is approximately 1 year old. He is in good health and is heartworm negative. He has been neutered, microchipped and brought current on his vaccinations.

GuidoPH ID: #639
Guido is a fawn male. He comes to us from an animal control facility. He is only 1 year old but is already heartworm positive. He will begin treatment shortly. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

GumboPH ID: #344
Gumbo is a fawn male. He was found wandering alone with no ID or microchip. A Good Samaritan found him and contacted us.

He is a sweet boy who gets along very well with other dogs. He is a happy little guy who has a great temperment.

GuntherPH ID: #678
Gunther is a fawn male. He is 5 years old and comes to us as an owner surrender. He is in good health; he is heartworm negative. He has been neutered and is current on his vaccinations.

Gunther is one of the most colorful personalities that has ever graced my home! He is a very loving guy and loves to sit on my lap and watch TV. He is obsessed with watching TV. He usually just quietly sits there and observes, that is unless an animal appears, then he really gets into. He’s kind of like a guy watching a big football game and his team makes the winning touchdown! There is a commercial on for Dentabone that has human teeth inserted as dentures for dogs, OMG!!! I stop it and rewind it over and over because he is so funny when it comes on! He’s quite entertaining. It’s like he knows there’s something wrong with those dogs. However, if you’re addicted to Animal Planet you will have to watch it when he’s in bed or he probably isn’t the guy for you. He loves to watch it but he’s too excited to let you pay attention to the programs.

He is a very sweet boy and is also very intelligent. He has kind of a goofy look about him but that combined with his personality makes him one of a kind. I truly have never had a foster that is quite like Gunther. He is well behaved, listens quite well and is completely housebroken. He does this noise that I can’t describe, it’s something you have to hear . He only does it when he thinks I shouldn’t leave him somewhere. When we’re at events and I walk away from the booth for some reason people can’t believe him. I find it very cute. Gunther had bladder stones when we got him and we had to have them removed, so he is in perfect health now and has no special needs for his health. As with pugs that have skin allergies he needs to eat special food from the vet in order to keep him from developing more stones. I’ve had him for quite some time and his health is extremely good, he’s one of the few fosters that I don’t have to take back and forth to the vet for various reasons.

GusPH ID: #663
Gus is a fawn male. He comes to us from an animal control facility. We believe he is about 5 years old. He is heartworm negative, neutered, microchipped and current on his vaccinations.

From Gus' foster: Gus is a joy to have around the house. Always interested in what we are doing. He is very loving and wants to be by you. He is house trained and has no problems with people or other dogs or cats. He plays well with other dogs and is just so cute, he will melt your heart. His only problem is for the first week he will get a little upset when you are gone. But, when he knows you are coming back home, he gets use to you being gone. A very, very good pet for a family that wants to add another dog or the only dog.

GuylaPH ID: #383
Guyla is a gorgeous fawn female. She is 3 years old. She is heartworm negative and in excellent health. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations. She is a bit timid at first, but playful and funny when she learns to trust.

From Guyla's foster: Guyla is an absolutely adorable puppy. Although she's full-grown, she's half the size and twice the energy of any other pug we've had in our home. She wants nothing more than to run, chase, wrestle, and explore. She's also quite vocal, with a louder bark than you'd expect out of such a little

bit! She's a terror to cats, and is always trying to get the rest of our pack to play. She instinctively defers to our Alpha bitch, but anyone else is fair game. She's always ready with lots of kisses, and if no one wants to play, there's always her tail to chase. She's content to snuggle when she's worn out, which takes a lot! This one needs training, discipline and impulse control, but she's already bonding well with the human members of her pack. She's smart and learning rapidly. If you have the patience, this one will bring you endless joy, laughter and entertainment.

Hamlet And RomeoPH ID: #82
Meet Hamlet and Romeo, two brothers who will steal your heart!

Hamlet is 8 and Romeo is 7 years old. They are current on vaccinations and in good health. They have been neutered and microchipped.

These boys are owner surrenders through no fault of their own. They are housebroken, well behaved and get on well with other dogs. They also are good with children, having come from a home with small kids.

Having spent their whole lives together, these two are very attached to each other. We are hoping to find a special family for these guys so that we can keep them together

HannahPH ID: #326
Hannah is a fawn female. We believe she is between 3 to 4 years old. She was found wandering the streets, so we do not know her history but we do know that nobody has been taking care of her. She is moderately heartworm positive and will begin treatment shortly. She is very timid right now but she is learning to trust us. We will post updates soon.

HanselPH ID: #607
Hansel is a black male. He is 3 years old. He was an owner surrender to a local animal control facility with his sister Gretel. He is moderately heartworm positive and has begin treatment.

NOTE: Hansel and Gretel are a bonded pair and as such need to be kept together.

From their foster: Like their namesakes, Hansel and Gretel are a pair and they are two of the most beautiful black pugs that I have ever seen! Harley 2PH ID: #310
Harley is a black female. She is 3 years old. She comes to us as an owner surrender through no fault of her own. She is heartworm negative. However, she is currently suffering from a case of whipworms which we are treating. She has not been spayed but will be prior to placement. She has been microchipped and is current on her vaccinations.

Harley 3PH ID: #366
Harley is a 4 year old fawn male. He is an owner surrender with his brother Davidson. They are extremely bonded and need to stay together. He is heartworm negative and in good health. He is up to date on his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered.

From Harley's foster: Harley is the more dominant pug of the Harley Davidson duo. He is currently overweight, but has been working hard to drop the pounds. He is a lover, and always wants to give kisses with that long tongue of his, that constantly hangs out of the side of his mouth! He plays with toys, and enjoys being around other dogs. His favorite toys are an empty water bottle, and his Kong. He sleeps next to Davidson, in the same bed, no matter how small it might be. He does have a loud bark, but keeps it to a minimum. He enjoys being outside, and loves to be brushed. He's a sweetheart, and moves around like a puppy!

HarliePH ID: #234
Harlie is an adorable 4 month old fawn female. She was an owner surrender due to her medical condition. Poor little Harlie is suffering from hydrocephalus, commonly known as "water on the brain." She has a build up of cerebrospinal fluid around her brain. This means she has to be monitored for changes in her condition. At this point we are not planning to do any invasive treatment since she seems to be coping really well. Her balance is a little off at times but otherwise she acts like any other puppy. She loves to play and run and jump. She is a sweetie who loves playing but also loves to cuddle. She is doing very well in housetraining.

Special Notes

Harlie suffers from hydrocephalus and will need special monitoring

HarryPH ID: #83
Harry is a handsome fawn male. He is an owner surrender due to allergies. He is estimated to be between 3 to 4 years old. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

Harry is a cutie who has had some bad luck with finding a forever home. His original owner had placed him with someone else when he was found to have an allergic reaction to something in their household. Unfortunately, the adoptive family could not keep him and so we were contacted to find him a forever home. Harry had no allergic reaction during his stay in a house with hardwood floors, so it may be attributed to a carpet allergy. At present, he is doing fine and having no outbreaks.

Harry is a bit of a couch potato. He loves nothing better than to lay on the sofa and get belly rubbins! He is a very well behaved boy who comes when called and stays pretty quiet. He gets on well with other dogs and is housebroken. He's a sweet little fella who could really use someone to adopt him who can commit to giving him the forever home he deserves.

HarveyPH ID: #232
Harvey is a 3 year old fawn male. He has been brought up to date on his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. He is severe heartworm positive and has begun treatment.

Harvey is a sweetheart of a boy who just LOVES to cuddle and be on a lap. He is good around other dogs and cats but could also be an only dog. He is very good around children. We don't think Harvey is used to being indoors as he was not housebroken when we got him, but he is learning fast. He also has learned to love sleeping in a human bed at night. Harvey is also a very vocal dog - likes to "talk" and have the last word! This little guy just needs someone with time to devote to him to let him know he is part of a family.

HausPH ID: #566
Haus is a fawn male. He is 8 years old. He is an owner surrender. He is in excellent health. He is heartworm negative. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

From Haus' foster: I really like this dog. He is extremely intelligent, and he is a communicator. He will come up behind me in the morning and croon to get attention. He has bright, intelligent eyes and he listens closely to everything I say just so he doesn't miss something. I keep asking if Haus is really 8 years old because he looks and acts like a much younger dog. He is physically fit and has practically no gray in the face. AND he has beautiful house manners.

Haus currently lives with 3 other dogs. He does all right with them but I have noticed he is treat and toy aggressive. I think he would probably be happier as an only dog with active adults. He loves going on walks and likes to sit near us in the evening happily chewing on a rawhide or bone.

I have been making sure he receives lots of loving touches because initially I observed that he would cringe when I went to pet him. He responds very well to voice corrections. He knows sit, and is working on "leave it" and "take it," as well as, taking treats with a gentler mouth. This is a fine dog. Don't be fooled by his age. Haus is a fun companion.

HazelPH ID: #388
Hazel is a fawn female. She is 7 years old. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations.

From her foster: Hazel is generally a quiet dog who very much enjoys sitting in my lap. She has wide-set sad looking eyes. She doesn't appear to be a dog who was taken out on walks a lot. She was somewhat confused the first few times we went. Now she is happy to go on walks which have been few because of the heat. She is not aggressive, and takes her cues from other dogs. She particularly follows my Dudley around outside and potties where he does. She is beautifully potty-trained, and she has become accustomed to the dog door. She does like to communicate with her paws, and sometimes will make a low howl or crooning sound. She is exactly what pugs were bred to be, a companion dog. She isn't too playful at this time but she does get into occasional play-fighting with my other foster pug, and gets the better of him. She understands the pecking order, and waits her turn to get her food. A simple verbal correction is all she needs to change behavior. Since Hazel is "odd pug out" because the other pugs are males, I allow her to sleep on the bed at night. She settles into one spot and that is it for the night. She is smaller as pugs go so she doesn't take up a lot of space. I like to say she is my new BFF. She stays near me when I am home. She enjoys the occasional rawhide chew but I haven't seen her show interest in toys yet. Just a nice little puggie who wants to be with you.

HectorPH ID: #529
Hector is a beautiful black male. He comes to us from a local shelter. He is young (look at those pearly teeth), fit, and the shelter says he's heartworm negative. He was picked up from the street where he was apparently hit by a car, without tags or a microchip. His right front leg is lame, and there is possibly some bruising affecting his rear right as well. He's otherwise in good condition: great plush coat with a fawn undercoat, and he is sweet as can be! Lots of cuddles and kisses. He rode well in the car, and was very friendly with dogs and humans. He apparently has not been on the street long.

Heidi 2PH ID: #357
Heidi is a fawn female who is about 4 years old. She is heartworm positive and is presently undergoing treatment. She has been brought current on her vaccinations, microchipped and spayed.

From Heidi's foster: Heidi is a very sweet little girl. She is a very small Pug (12 pounds)and has a very pretty and soft coat. She is also a talker, she doesn't bark but she kind of howls. Cindy named her Heidi because she sounds like she's yodeling. She is also housetrained. She loves to be around her human at all times. When she was confined to a crate after her HW treatment if I went into another room she was very vocal with her distress but only until I returned to the room and she could see me. She very seldom makes a sound when she's with someone. I don't believe that she was held much in her prior life, she loves to be beside me and is just beginning to be more comfortable sitting on my lap. She loves to lay back on my arm and have her belly rubbed. She also really listens to me when I talk to her as you can see by the picture. She will cock her head back and forth and look like she's going to answer me. She is a great little girl and anyone will be very lucky to have her in their home forever!

HelenPH ID: #535
Helen is a fawn female. She is about 4 years old. She is an owner surrender through no fault of her own. She appears to have been used for breeding in the past, but those days are now behind her. She has been spayed, microchipped and brought current on her vaccinations. She is heartworm negative. She has also had a hernia repair during her spay. She is in good health except for being a bit "fluffy" and having diminished vision in her left eye. She is receiving drops for that.

Helen is a sweet girl who seems to have missed out on her childhood. She's making up for lost time now that she's a lady of leisure. She is enjoying discovering what toys are all about and she loves to play with other dogs. She's also very loving toward people. In fact, if you stand long enough in one spot she will quietly lay down at your feet. If you sit long enough she will hop up to sit in your lap for a cuddle. And since her fur is so soft and fluffy, it's hard to resist her!

HenryPH ID: #84
Henry is a 5 year old fawn male. He has been neutered and is up to date on all of his vaccinations. He is heartworm negative and in excellent health.

Henry is an owner surrender due to family changes. He is a very well mannered pug. He is housebroken and very sociable, he plays very well with other dogs. He is not a couch potato!

He also is a very loving boy who loves to give puggie kisses and cuddle. And just look at that face!

Henry needs another chance at being a treasured pet. He's a good boy who needs a stable environment in which we know he will flourish.

Hercules 2PH ID: #413
Hercules is a fawn male. He is an owner surrender. He is 4 years old and in good health. He is neutered, microchipped and current on his vaccinations.

From Hercules' foster: Hercules has been wonderful...he loves all of our other doggies (large and small, male & female.) he also does not bother with the cat. He is great with kids including our infant. He is a bed hog and wants to be in a lap at all times. He will follow you where ever you lead him, including in the water! He loves baths, showers, and the pool. He still has ALOT of puppy in him and will play all day. He loves stuffed animals and chewy bones. He also thinks he is a guard dog and will bark at any unknown sound. He is a very vocal dog and can't sleep without a snore! He has integrated himself into our home very well. He was shy at first but has really come out of his shell. He is housebroken and has no problem letting you know when he needs to go out.

HobbesPH ID: #554
Hobbes is a fawn male. He was an owner surrender. He is in excellent health. He is heartworm negative. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

HollyPH ID: #87
Holly is a beautiful fawn female. We estimate she is between 2 to 3 years old. She was found scared, wandering alone on a busy highway when a Good Samaritan brought her home out of the traffic. She had no collar and was not microchipped, so we were contacted to find her a new home. She has been checked out by our vet and is in excellent health. She has been spayed, microchipped and brought up to date on all of her vaccinations.

Holly is a very loving dog and just loves to cuddle. She loves being a part of the family and all of the great things that go along with that like belly rubs, toys, T.V. and a nice soft bed. She is housetrained and gets along very well with other dogs and cats. When it is time to go visit friends or to the pet store she sits very still in her pet sling so that everyone can tell her how beautiful she is. She is looking for a family that does not have a busy schedule and is ready to welcome a sweet companion into the family.

Holly 2PH ID: #88
Holly is a fawn female. She is 6 years old and an owner surrender. She is heartworm negative. She has been spayed and is current on her vaccinations. She appears to be in good health except for 'dry eye' which will require daily eyedrops. She did come to us with itchy skin that appears to be from allergies as it has cleared with medication. She also came to us a bit overweight (as you can see from her earlier photos) but we have had her on a diet and she is now down to around 20 lbs and looking very healthy.

Holly is housetrained and would much rather be inside in air conditioning than running around outside (smart girl!) She gets along well with other dogs but her favorite thing is to receive human attention and affection. In fact, her foster Mom reports that 'if you just look at her, she falls over, with her legs stretched out, waiting for her belly rub!!!' Her favorite thing to do is cuddle up next to someone.

HoneyPH ID: #266
Honey is a black female who is about 5 years old. She was an owner surrender. Honey has had multiple litters of puppies but those days are now far behind her! She has been spayed and is in good health. She is current on her vaccinations and has been microchipped.

HoneybunPH ID: #465
Honeybun is a cute 2 year old fawn female. She is in good health. She is heartworm negative. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations.

HoochPH ID: #646
Hooch is a fawn male. He is 3 years old. He comes to us from a breeder. He is heartworm negative. He has now been neutered, microchipped and brought current on his vaccinations.

HopePH ID: #89
Hope is a sweet fawn female. She was dumped on the streets and left to fend for herself. A good Samaritan contacted us to pick her up. We are estimating that she is about 4 years old.

Unfortunately Hope has had a rough time and was not in the best of shape when she came to us. She was highly positive for heartworms and extremely malnourished. She has just completed her last round of heartworm treatment and has gained a bit of weight. She has been brought up to date on her shots and microchipped. She will be spayed prior to placement.

Hope is a sweetheart of a girl who is a true testament to the pug spirit. Despite her past medical problems, she is a lively girl who would love nothing better than to romp and play. Now that she is healthy enough to do just that, we want to find her the perfect home to do it in.

HoracePH ID: #677
Horace is a fawn male. He comes to us from a local animal control facility. He is 5 years old. He appears to be in good health; he is heartworm negative. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

From Horace's foster: Horace, aka: Mr. Bojangles, is an easygoing, happy, and sleepy pug with a big heart. He gets along with other dogs and with cats! Well, he just ignores cats... he will bark when someone knocks or if he sees something suspicious in the yard, but only for a minute. Since he's been staying with us I have been able to train him for my schedule and he is very good about waiting to go outside for the bathroom. Horace follows me around doing chores and waiting for his pets which I cannot give him enough of, he loves attention and snuggles and has the soft coat to invite it! He is quite good at snoring and snorting which is great for my blind pug so she always knows where to find him. We love this little guy.

HunterPH ID: #404
Hunter is a fawn male. He comes to us from a local shelter. We believe he is about 4 years old. He is heartworm positive and will begin treatment shortly. He has been neutered, microchipped and brought current on his vaccinations.

From his foster: Hunter seemed very scared to be touched when we first received him, he would not eat for the first few meals and when we final got him to eat he had to be sat with until he was done. Now Hunter enjoys being petted and brushed,he has graduated to eating on his own and he will even bark at the other dogs if they try to come to his bowl. Hunter is a very sweet and loving dog. He loves to give and receive kisses. He is very excitable, full of energy and loves to play with our other Pugs. He likes to be the center of attention and petting. If there is love to be given he would love to be the recipient. Hunter loves people!! Hunter will do good in a forever home with or without kids. Hunter loves to play so would most likely do better in a home with a fur friend to play with. Hunter just need to be loved and taken care of,as it seems he did not receive much of this before he was rescued. We are still working on potty-training, Hunter is doing great he has learned to use the potty pads now we are working on going outside. Just 5 minutes with Hunter and he will steal your heart!!

HurleyPH ID: #745
Hurley is a fawn male. He is 6 years old. He is an owner surrender. He is in good health; he is heartworm negative. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

IkePH ID: #683
Ike is an adorable fawn male. He was an owner surrender through no fault of his own.

IkePH ID: #259
Ike is a 5 year old fawn male. He was found in the aftermath of the hurricane, having weathered the storm by himself in a park. He was understandably very frightened when we first picked him up but he has relaxed quite a bit and seems happy. He is a quiet boy though. He does not really play and prefers to sit with her person and watch the world go by. He is in excellent health, he has just completed heartworm treatment and is now heartworm negative. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

IndyPH ID: #496
Hello my name is Indy (short for Indiana Jones)! I was named because of the adventure I went on before coming to PugHearts. I am about 1 ½ years old and was covered w/ Sarcoptic Mange and almost starved to death before I was rescued by PugHearts. I am no longer contagious, but still a little itchy :) My foster mom is helping me to gain weight and hair right now. I love to play with my toys and my foster brothers, but my favorite thing to do is cuddle up next to you on the couch. Would you consider giving me a home?

IrisPH ID: #90
Iris is a recent transfer from Homeward Bound Pugs in OK.

Iris is a feisty and very busy little girl. She came from a puppy mill and is seven years old. Iris has never been part of a family and she is making up for lost time.

We took in four mill girls and Iris is the oldest and the most outgoing. She doesn?t miss a thing and is waiting for that special family to become a part of.

If you are looking for an older girl to love, Iris is up for the challenge. Just look at that happy face...how can you resist?

IsabelPH ID: #91
Isabel is a beautiful fawn female who is 5 ½ years old. She is an owner surrender due to family changes (i.e. - through no fault of her own). She is in good health. She has been brought up to date on her vaccinations, microchipped and spayed.

Isabel is a sweet girl who is a bit shy and a little confused about her new situation. However, she is very well behaved and even tempered. She is housebroken. We are also told she gets along great with kids and even loves to swim! This little girl would be an ideal pet for a family who wants a companion for their children but does not want to have to deal with the training and rambunctiousness of a puppy.

Izzy 2PH ID: #289
Izzy is a 7 month old black "Bug" (Boston/Pug mix.) She was an owner surrender due to family issues. She is in good health and is heartworm negative. She is current on her vaccinations, microchipped and has been spayed.

From Izzy's Foster: Izzie is incredibly loving and playful. She enjoys playing with other dogs at the dog park and running! She also loves to play fetch and tug-of-war. Izzie is a great dog to take out to social scenes, whether it's the dog park or dog-friendly pub. She is calm around groups of people and enjoys being pet or played with by anyone who's interested. She's quite the focus of attention! When she finally slows down, Izzie loves to snuggle and enjoys cuddling up to you on the couch or in bed. She loves to give kisses and checks on you periodically if you wander too far out of her sight. She's a great dog for anyone who's active and likes to take their dog with them everywhere!

Jack PH ID: #497
Meet Jack! Jack is a 4 yr old beautiful fawn male. Jack has a beautiful, soft coat. He is very loving and loves to play. He seems to be crate trained and housebroken, but having just recently been neutered, he still wants to mark. This should lessen with time. Jack is mild heartworm positive and he undergo treatment for that in the upcoming weeks. Jack will do well with a family who wants an active playmate. He would do well as both an only dog or as a member of a multi dog household.

Jack SparrowPH ID: #93
Jack Sparrow is a 10 month old Puggle. He is an owner surrender due to allergies. He has been neutered, microchipped and is up to date on his vaccinations. He is in excellent health except for his right eye. We're not sure what happened, but the right eye does not work and it's actually a bit smaller than his left. That's how he got the name One-Eyed Jack Sparrow. The vet recommends not removing the eye as it isn't causing any problems. Jack has absolutely no problem getting around and given his age it is doubtful that he even realizes he's supposed to have 2 working eyes.

Jack is housebroken and does well with the dogs and cat in his foster home. He is VERY playful. He seems to only want to cuddle when he is tired, otherwise he wants to run and play (which is pretty normal for a puppy.)

JacksonPH ID: #386
Jackson is a handsome fawn male with unique pale green eyes. He is 2 years old. He comes to us from a local shelter where his owner left him. He is moderately heartworm positive and will begin treatment shortly. He has been neutered, microchipped and brought current on his vaccinations.

From Jackson's foster: Jackson may not look like your typical fawn Pug but he sure has the personality, charisma and energy of one! He has the most unusual coloring we have ever seen, it's just beautiful. His mask has an auburn tone to it and along with his green eyes he's quite the handsome gentleman! I love to just sit and look at him. He is also very sweet. He likes to lay on the couch next to me but he also likes to play, he's a good mixture of both. Jackson's a small little guy and is quite huggable, and he is very good at giving Puggie kisses. He's not much of a barker. He has marking issues and we're working on that. Since he's been neutered he seems to be getting better. He gets along with all his other Pug brothers and sisters so would do well in a home with other pets. He would also do well in a home where he gets all the attention (he'll take as much as I can give him.) Where ever he lives he will certainly be a beautiful addition to the family!

JacquePH ID: #94
Jacque is a gorgeous dark fawn male who is 7 years old. He is an owner surrender due to allergies. He is in good health, current on all vaccinations and has been microchipped. He is heartworm negative. He will be neutered prior to placement.

Jacque is a very well behaved gentleman. He is housebroken and crate trained, but prefers sleeping in a human bed! He gets along beautifully with dogs and cats as well as any human he meets. He enjoys playing with toys indoor and out. He is a very outgoing, social pug who would probably do best in a home with lots of activity - i.e. other animals or a big family.

JadePH ID: #765
Jade is a black female. She comes to us from a local animal control facility. We believe she is about 9 years old. She is in good health; she is heartworm negative. She has been brought current on her vaccinations and microchipped. She is not spayed but will be prior to placement.

From Jade's foster: Jade came to me with the itch monster attacking her, very dirty and neglected. After a few baths, some meds and some TLC she is opening up to be a great little old lady! The other dogs and cat get along well with her, she just goes with the flow of whatever we're all doing... taking a walk, sitting in the kitchen, gardening, or just watching some TV. She does like to snuggle and is opening up to more pats and hugs now that she's used to me. Her skin and ears/face are all healing well and she is getting stronger each day. I have been very lucky on the waiting to go outside too, she is trained pretty well. Jade only barks occasionally, but 'yips' in the car, silly dog! Snoring is common around our place with three pugs, so that is no big deal. She is very lovable, low key, and easy to care for. I hope someone will get her who has a warm heart and a soft demeanor for this sweety.

JakePH ID: #545
Jake is a fawn male. He is 6 years old. He comes to us from a local animal control facility. He is heartworm positive and will begin treatment soon. He also has dry eye and will need drops to help lubricate his eyes. He has been neutered and brought current on his vaccinations.

Update: We are thrilled to report that Jake has just completed his heartworm treatment! This means he is healthy and ready to go to his new home!

From Jake's foster: Jake is an adorable, sweet, super-soft little boy. He can't see very well, but adjusts quickly to his surroundings, you call him once & his head pops up to figure out what direction to go, you say it a second time & he comes running to you. He loves to cuddle with me & my other pups. He is house trained. He really is a joy to have around, a precious boy who deserves the best!

JamesonPH ID: #263
Jameson is a 2 year old black male. He came to us from a local shelter so not much is known about his past. He came to us with a bad case of sarcoptic mange with has been treated. He is in otherwise good health. He is heartworm negative. He has been brought current on his vaccinations and microchipped. He is not neutered but will be prior to placement.

From his Foster: Jameson is a powerfully sweet young man!!! He has really discovered the benefit of cuddling, if I have a lap full when he wants on my lap he just sits there staring at me. Can you imagine that face just staring at you because he wants to be held? Needless to say I can always make room for one more! His coat has filled in on his body and it is really pretty and shinny. His face is still a little sparse around his eyes and nose but it's almost fully filled in. He's gained quite a bit of weight and no longer looks like a skeleton. He really is quite a clown, he can make me laugh just by the look on his face because I can almost see what he's thinking! He has come quite a long way since he was found. He gets along well with everyone (doggie or human) that he has met and wants to make friends with everyone. He would be fine as an only dog or would enjoy having a playmate (doggie or kiddie). He just needs to have the attention he craves and deserves.

JamiePH ID: #418
Jamie is a fawn female pug mix. She came to us from a local shelter. She is only about 2 years old. She is heartworm positive and will begin treatment shortly. She will also be spayed prior to placement. She has been microchipped and brought current on her vaccinations.

From Jamie's foster: Jamie is an energetic little girl. Although she may not be pure pug, she is a pug at heart in her fun loving attitude. She loves to play tug-of-war with my great dane and is usually the winner (although I think Grace lets her win to be nice to the wee one). They are good buds and she is great with my cats which lends me to think that she would fit in well with a household of multiple pets. She knows how to sit and is working on the potty training. She is an amazing car rider and sits back and enjoys the scenery. She is also great with kids, she'll roll over on her back to allow them a great expanse of belly to love on. Jamie loves her babies (stuffed animals) and will carry them around the house and collect them in whatever room I am in at the time. She also likes to nurse on them- this is so cute! Jamie is a very sweet girl and would be a great addition to any family looking for a loving addition. Oh, one last thing...in the pictures you may notice she has a cherry eye which will be surgically repaired after her heartworm treatment is complete. And she is much cuter in real life- she is a hard one to get a picture of!

Jasmine 2PH ID: #378
Jasmine is a female pug mix. This cute little girl was left behind when her family moved. So now we have her and promised her we will find a family for her that will never leave her. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations. She is in good health. She is a sweet girl that loves to be with her people.

JasperPH ID: #96
This is Jasper - an adorable fawn male. He is 2 years old. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations. He is a very happpy, healthy little guy.

Jasper is full of energy and ready for anything. He loves to play and gets on very well with other dogs. He will need a home that is ready for an energetic guy and can provide him with structure and training.

Sadly, this is not Jasper's first time with us. He had been adopted out to a family that thought they were ready for his energy but had underestimated just how much work a pug pup can be. We cannot stress how important it is that whoever is interested in Jasper (or any other young pug) be aware that they will require a lot of attention and correction. Once they're trained they are trained for life, but they will require some time and attention to get that way. If you're in a position to do this, please consider Jasper. He has a lot of love to give to a family that is ready to devote some time to him.

JaxPH ID: #714

Jay ZPH ID: #296
Jay Z is a 4 year old fawn male. He comes to us from a local shelter. Due to living on the streets, he has a bad case of intestinal parasites right now. He is undergoing treatment and they should clear shortly. He has been neutered and microchipped and has been brought current on his vaccinations.

JeffersonPH ID: #319
Jefferson is a fawn male. He was an owner surrender through no fault of his own. He is 9 years old, neutered and healthy. He is heartworm negative. He is used to being an inside dog in a home environment and should integrate easily into a new home.

JemmaPH ID: #631
Jemma is a fawn female. She is an owner surrender and is 6 years old. She is in good health; she is heartworm negative. She has been spayed, brought current on her vaccinations and microchipped.

From Jemma's foster: Jemma came to us as a very used and abused backyard puppy mill girl. But unlike the normal behavior that comes with a pug from that environment Jemma doesn't cower and shake from fright, she has always known that she should be pampered, held and loved...she was just waiting for the place to be for it to happen. She has found it! She is absolutely precious! From the first day she arrived she has acted like she's always been in a home and loved. She will scratch at my leg to get on the couch and then curl up and lay her head on my chest and give a great big sigh of contentment. I do have trouble sleeping with her because she pushes me to the edge trying to cuddle and I don't get much sleep because I'm trying not to fall off the bed. The resilience of these little babies never ceases to amaze me, they are awesome little creatures!

Jemma does have eye issues. When she arrived her eyes were pretty dry but after a little over a week of eye drops they are looking quite normal. Her vision isn't pristine but she doesn't have any trouble because of it. She is also doing great in the potty department, which is really unusual considering where she came from. Jemma really deserves to have a forever home that will give her the life that she's always known she should have. She is an absolute joy to behold, it makes my heart feel so good to look at her and know that someone out there reading this will give her a wonderful home and she will never be abused again.

JenniePH ID: #97
Jennie is a sweet fawn female who is 6 years old. She is an owner surrender as her owner could no longer care for her. She is in excellent health except for being a tad overweight, which is easily remedied with an appropriate diet. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations.

Jennie is best described as a 'shadow.' She likes to be near humans at all times and MUST sleep touching you all night. She feels a bit lost without a person nearby and would do well with someone who was home all day. She gets on well with other dogs also.

Jennie has figured out the doggie door and uses it just fine, though she has had a couple of accidents in her new house. With time and routine she should adjust fine. She is a pretty girl who needs a bit of attention and TLC since she has lost her human. Once she finds her forever home and feels that stability, she will make someone a fantastic companion.

JenniferPH ID: #98
Jennifer is a 5 month old fawn Pug/Dachshund mix puppy. Though she is not all Pug, she does have the characteristic black mask markings. Many of you will remember her from her fight with distemper along with her brother Joey and mommy Jewel. We are pleased to report that she has made a full recovery. She is in excellent health and does not have any lingering effects from her previous health battles. She is current on all vaccinations and will be spayed prior to placement.

Jennifer is a sweet, playful girl who is your typical puppy. As she is so young she will need training (as all pups do) but she seems to respond well to people and should not have any difficulty transitioning to living in a family home.

JennyPH ID: #533
Jenny is a fawn female senior. She is 12 years old. She has come to us as her owner has passed away and nobody is left to look after her. She has obviously been well cared. She is on daily medication for her heart but is in overall good health. She has previously been spayed and is already current on all of her medications. She is heartworm negative. This sweet little lady just needs to hear someone tell her they love her again and keep her happy and healthy.

Jenny 2PH ID: #632
Jenny is a fawn female. She is an owner surrender and is 5 years old. She is heartworm positive and will begin treatment shortly. She has now been spayed, microchipped and brought current on her vaccinations.

From Jenny (with a little help from her foster mom): Hi, my name is Jenny aka Miss Moneypenny. I am house trained and can use a doggy door. I have also recently learned to sit for a treat. Unfortunately, I am heartworm positive, but will be going through heartworm treatment. Once I have recovered from the treatment, I will be the perfect little lady to add to your household. I get along good with other dogs and children. I love to sit in your lap or sit next to you and be petted. If I think you're ignoring me, I will give you a gentle reminder that I'm still there by patting on your arm. I am full of love and willing to share it with a forever home.

JerryPH ID: #733
Jerry is a fawn male. We believe he is about 4 years old. He came to us with his brother Tom. They are extremely bonded and must remain together.

From their foster: Meet Tom & Jerry. Tom & Jerry appear to be brothers, or have been with each other for quite some time, as they are very bonded. I'm not sure what kind of life they had before coming to PugHearts, but I can tell you that it wasn't a very good one. These two sweet little boys (I mean literally, both are small pugs) - are so scared. Someone was not very nice to these boys. When they first came to us, they would run from us, and cower to the ground when we came close. It was heartbreaking. It is obvious that they want attention, as they get excited to see us, but they just aren't trusting of humans yet. They've improved some since we've had them, they love to sit next to us on the couch, or snuggle with us in the big bed, but still aren't sure about us when we try to pick them up. Tom is the more independent of the two, and has shown the most progress. Tom seems to be the "protector" of Jerry, and seems to make sure that Jerry is comforted. Both seem to be fine with other dogs & cats, it's just humans that they don't trust.

Tom & Jerry are about 4 years old, and both seem to be housebroken, although they have marked some, but I believe that will go away with time as they were both recently neutered. They sleep well together either in a crate, on a bed, or in bed with us. Both are heartworm positive and will go through treatment before being placed in a home together.

Tom and Jerry are so sweet, and even cuter in person. I promise they will steal your heart. They need a quiet, patient home with someone who will be willing to teach them that not all humans are bad, and who will teach them how to be a puggie. I know the love they will give you in return will be well beyond the effort you put into them. They want to love and to be loved, they just need to learn how.

JessicaPH ID: #767
Jessica was found as a stray and taken in by a local vet clinic. She is a small fawn female, approximately 4 years old and is a cute little momma dog. Her puppy was adopted by one of the staff members at the clinic, but she was surrendered to us since she is heartworm positive. She has been vaccinated and will soon be spayed and microchipped.

From Jessica's foster: Ever want someone to look at you with longing eyes as if to say 'Want to be my friend?'? Well, Jessica will every time she looks at you. In fact, she'll pleadingly stare at you until she gets some loving. All it takes to make her happy is to love her. She quickly befriends everyone in the house! She is completely house-broken and sleeps well in a crate or in bed. She would be excellent with children and adults alike. She's even good with cats. She'll find their food before she'll even notice they're there.

JessiePH ID: #99
Jessie is an sweet fawn male. He came to us from a local shelter so not much is known about his past. We estimate he is between 7 to 9 years old. He has been brought current on his vaccinations and microchipped. He has already been neutered. He appears to be in good health.

Jessie is used to being a devoted pet as he is housebroken and understands house rules. He is a very happy guy who gets along with everyone and loves attention.

JesterPH ID: #645
Jester is a fawn male. He was found wandering the streets of a nearby town without any tags or microchip. We believe he is about 1 year old. He is heartworm negative.

JewelPH ID: #100
Jewel is a beautiful black Dachshund mix. She was found wandering the streets with her puppies. We estimate she is about 3 - 4 years old. Many of you will be familiar with Jewel and her pups, Joey and Jennifer from their battle with distemper. We are thrilled that these guys pulled through and have made a complete recovery from this awful disease. Unfortunately, Jewel is also heartworm positive. She is to begin treatment very soon now that she has recovered from the distemper.

Jewel is a sweet, sweet girl who has given all of her love and devotion to her pups. Now that they are strong enough to go on without her, it is time that she gets the love and attention she needs. She is now in a foster home learning what it is like to be part of a loving family. She is a smart girl who is eager to please. We know that once she is back to good health she will make someone a fantastic companion.

JillPH ID: #498
Jill is a gorgeous fawn female. She comes to us from a local animal control facility. We believe she is about 7 years old. She is heartworm negative. She has been spayed and is current on her vaccinations. She does suffer from luxating patellas, where her knees shift out of place. Sadly this is a commonly seen Pug problem, but one that can be fixed surgically.

Joe PH ID: #392
Joe is a fawn male. He comes to us from a local shelter. We estimate he is about 4 years old. He wll be neutered and brought current on his vaccinations.

From Joe's foster: Joe is a very handsome young man. We call him "Brooklyn Joe." He marches around the house with his chest out, head up and a bone in his mouth, usually sticking straight out like a cigar. He's macho, but likes to snuggle on the couch with you and get some hugs. He'll rest his head right on your chest and look you right in the eyes. He loves kids but would rather be the only dog in the house. He also loves dinner time, rawhide bones, lying around for hours and sleeping in the bed. He's pretty low maintenence. He's not much into long walks. He would rather be hanging around the house with a good cigar.

JoeyPH ID: #101
Joey is a 5 month old fawn Pug/Dachshund mix puppy. Though he is not all Pug, he does have the characteristic black mask markings. Many of you will remember him from his fight with distemper along with his sister Jennifer and mommy Jewel. We are pleased to report that he has made a full recovery and is just like any other 5 month old puppy. He is current on all of his vaccinations and is in excellent health. He will be neutered prior to placement.

He is extremely playful and curious. This little guy is just like the Energizer Bunny. We don't know where it comes from but he has boundless energy. He is very lively and curious. Obviously since he is still a pup he needs training but he is a fast learner.

Joey 2PH ID: #363
Joey is a 9 year old black male. He looks like he may have some Boston in him, as he is a big fella and his tail is fairly straight. He is an owner surrender with his sister Suki. They are very bonded and need to stay together. Joey considers himself Suki's keeper and watches over her constantly. He even waits to eat his dinner until she has been served! They are very sweet together. Joey is in good health and has been neutered.

Joey is very playful and talkative. He loves his toys and will play fetch. He is housetrained and obeys commands. He does love to cuddle and give kisses, though he doesn't like being held too much. He and Suki both get on well with other animals including cats.

Joey 3PH ID: #725
Joey is a fawn male. He is heartworm positive and will begin treatment shortly.

From Joey's foster: Joey is one of the sweetest, most gentle Pugs I have ever had the privilege to know! When I picked him up the first day he was so scared that it broke my heart. He had been living in the backyard and just didn't seem to be able to adjust to the house and being a pet. So my solution was to keep him close to me and hold him to let him know no one was going to hurt him. He also REALLY likes to sleep with me J Over a period of time he has adjusted somewhat and is quite comfortable in the house. He still looks like he's the saddest little guy in the world. I think he just has that kind of face though, because he wags his tail but still looks sad. He's quite small for a Pug and has great coloring. He does still need to gain some weight but he's not a typical pug that eats until he pops. I have had to coax him to eat at times.

Joey is a lap Pug, he loves to be held and loved. He will get down and play with the other guys but that's not his favorite thing to do. I think he would be a great only dog, he doesn't need the company of anyone but his human. I also think that he would do better in a home with older children, he's still quite timid and a boisterous young person may scare him. Joey is beginning his heartworm treatment in the next week and he will be ready for his forever home in the next month. He's a special little guy and he will get a great addition to any family that wants to have a sweet, gentle companion.

JohnnyPH ID: #379
Johnny is a black male. He is 6 1/2 years old. He is an owner surrender along with his sister Frankie due to family circumstances. They have been together since they were babies and are extremely bonded. They will only be adopted out as a pair. Johnny has been neutered and is current on his vaccinations. He is in excellent health and is housebroken.

JoliePH ID: #102
Jolie is an adorable fawn female. She comes to us from an animal control facility. She is between 2 to 3 years old. She has tested moderately heartworm positive. She has been brought current on her vaccinations and microchipped. She has been spayed and is housebroken.

JonahPH ID: #323
Jonah is a fawn male. He is a young handsome guy! He's 2 years old and very sweet. He is friendly and very playful. He seems to be very interested in other dogs and seems to be good with children. He has been neutered, brought up to date on shots, and is microchipped. He is heartworm negative.

From Jonah's foster: He is a bundle of energy, and so willing to please. Someone in his past life was not so nice to him and probably hit and kicked him. He is already trusting alot more though, and once he gets some of his exuberance under control with love and direction from his new forever home, he will be a loyal family member for life! He has met a cat and has not yet given up on the idea that one might actually play with him someday, much to the dismay of my 13 year old cat! He has a unique way of drinking water from a bowl, a you tube opportunitiy if you ask me.......absolutely hilarious. So if you have a yard for him to play in, and lots of love and energy to give this sweet boy, his is waiting for your guidance to lead him to his new home!

JoniPH ID: #780
Joni is a black female. She is about 3 years old. She is in good health; she is heartworm negative. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations.

Joni is very sweet and playful. She would do well in a home with other

dogs or kids. She loves to run. Joni is exceptionally smart, too. She is house trained and learned to use a doggie door in one day. I would not recommend an apartment or confined space for Joni. She needs lots of space to run. Joni is a high-energy dog and needs lots of attention so that energy does not transform into negative behaviors. She digs through the toy box and searches for a toy to entertain herself. She plays tug of war with the other pugs. Joni loves people and warms up easily to other guests in the home. She is very trusting.

JoshPH ID: #709
Josh is a black male. He comes to us from a local animal control facility. We believe he is about 4 years old.

From Josh's foster: Josh is a handsome pug. When we first got him, he was so skinny you could see his ribs. Now that he's gotten his heartworm treatment, he is gaining some weight (he doesn't mind the extra treats either). Josh is so sweet, he loves to cuddle and sleep in the bed. His eyes are so expressive, you can almost hear him thanking you for giving him love. Josh needs some help with potty training and would probably love a doggie door. Although Josh first showed some alpha traits, he generally gets along well with other dogs. Josh would love to find his family and be spoiled in his forever home.

UPDATE: Josh is now heart worm free! He is better with potty training. He likes a schedule. This is because he is very busy with hanging outside, laying on the couch, eating and sleeping in the bed cuddling me! He loves to be loved. Who doesn't want to be loved? He needs some reinforcement on sitting before getting a treat or getting his food. He is the perfect cuddle bear.

JoyPH ID: #103
Joy is an adorable black female. She came to us from a local animal control facility, so we do not know her history. We believe she is about 1 1/2 - 2 years old. She is heartworm negative. She has been brought up to date on her vaccinations and microchipped.

We will update her bio once we know more about her personality.

JunePH ID: #676
June is a fawn female. She is an owner surrender. She is 7 years old. She is heartworm negative, spayed, microchipped and current on her vaccinations. She is in good health except for having that all-too-common dry eye. This means that she will need daily drops to soothe her eyes.

From June's foster: June is doing very well. She is perfectly house-trained. She is super sweet and a little playful. She is very quiet around the house so I put a bell on her collar and have been calling her June-Belle. Also, June-bug 'cause she is cute as a bug! She has taken very well to having lots of attention. Now she loves to sit next to me all the time and is even sleeping in bed with me. I'm afraid she is becoming a pampered princess! Her eyes are doing well with the drops for the dry-eye. She does not see very well, but it does not slow her down. Overall she is really a delight to have around! She will make a perfect companion for her new family.

JuniorPH ID: #105
Junior is a cute fawn male who is 4 years old. He is an owner surrender through no fault of his own. He is in excellent health but could stand to lose a pound or two. He has been brought up to date on his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered.

Junior came to us with his Mommy Cupid. As they have never been apart and are very bonded, they will only be adopted out together. That's a good thing too, as Junior is a bit of a mama's boy. He is very well behaved and housebroken. He is a very sweet, laid back kind of guy who appreciates having a human's lap to lay on.

K.C.PH ID: #419
K.C. is a fawn male. He comes to us from a local shelter. We believe he is about 4 years old. K.C. came to us with some medical issues which we have treated, including heartworms.

UPDATE from KC's foster: When KC became my foster several months ago it was with the understanding that I would give him a safe and happy home until he was no longer with us. Well, it seems we neglected to consult KC, because he was ready to give the fight of his life. As sick as he was he fought through everything that was wrong with him and he has come through it all with a wagging tail, perked up ears and bright eyes! He is the greatest joy that I have experienced being a foster. There were several times when he went to the doctor that I thought he wouldn't come home again, but Dr. Hendrix and Cindy wouldn't give up, and neither did KC. KC has undergone aggressive HW treatment, recovered and is now on the road to being HW negative. He does still have a minor cough that is permanent but that is a small price to pay for being so healthy otherwise. He is now strong enough to be neutered and will soon undergo that procedure (though I haven't told him about that yet).

KC is now a normal happy, healthy, playful Pug! I must warn you though that he is just a teensy, weensy bit spoiled. He feels that one side of the bed is his and his alone. He doesn't bark and carry on, he will just sit and make a very soft crying noise until I let him up..hey, it works. He isn't one to get on my lap and be held but he loves to sit beside me and have me pet him. His fur is the softest of any Pug I have ever felt, it's almost as soft as rabbit's fur. He has started playing since he feels better, he likes to play with squeaky toys and the unstuffed animals with the squeakers in them. He is very well behaved in the house. KC is now ready to become your pampered Pug and give you all the love and affection you can handle.

KC is a joy to behold, he is a shining example of why there is a PugHearts!

KalaniPH ID: #106
Kalani is a sweet fawn girl who is 5 years old. She is an owner surrender due to allergies. She is in excellent health, current on all vaccinations and has been microchipped. She is heartworm negative and has been spayed.

Kalani is a shy girl but very well behaved. She is housebroken and likes to sleep in a human bed at night. She gets along very well with other animals - dogs as well as cats. And though she is a bit timid at first, she also gets along well with humans. In fact, she seems most comfortable being near someone she knows.

KalePH ID: #593
Kale is a fawn male. He comes to us from a shelter so we don't know his background or age, but we think he is probably about 4 years old. He is in excellent health. He has been neutered, microchipped and brought current on his vaccinations.

He is a sweet, playful little guy who gets on well with other dogs. He also thoroughly enjoys a belly rubbin! His foster reports that he has turned out to be quite a momma's boy as well.

KarinaPH ID: #444
Karina is a fawn female. She is 3 years old. Despite previously living outside she is in good health and is heartworm negative. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations.

From her foster: Karina is the only pug I have ever come into contact with that does not always eat all her food! She never gives anyone a chance to pet her, because the second you try to pet her she rolls on her back so you can scratch her belly. She loves sitting on the couch and cuddling next to you as you scratch her belly or her ears. Karina will do well in a house with other animals or as an only dog. She is such a sweet girl and will make someone very happy in her forever home.

KatyPH ID: #107
Katy is an adorable black female. She is about 1 year old, so she is still a bit of a puppy. She was an owner surrender through no fault of her own. She is in excellent health. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on all of her vaccinations.

Katy is a very happy, playful girl. She gets on well with other dogs and would be fine in a multi-pug environment. This little girl is all ready for her new family to claim her and allow her to become the spoiled little diva she should be!

KaylaPH ID: #272
Kayla is a 3 year old fawn female. She came to us from a local shelter so we do not know anything about her past. She is heartworm negative. However, she does have whipworms right now and is undergoing treatment. She has not been spayed but will be prior to placement.

Kayla 2PH ID: #629
Kayla is a fawn female. She was found wandering the streets with no tags or microchip. She obviously hasn't been looked after for a while because she was suffering from terrible fleas and itchy skin. We believe she is about 6 years old. She has now been spayed, cleared of fleas, brought current on her vaccinations and microchipped. She is in good health and is heartworm negative.

From Kayla's foster: Kayla is a princess. She is VERY SMALL in size, but very BIG on personality. She is my little shadow and she loves to cuddle and likes to sleep under the blanket. She loves to go for rides in the car, she starts spinning w/ excitement. She is potty trained, but doesn't quite understand the doggie door yet. She is truly a special jewel to have around & anyone would be lucky to have her.

KayleePH ID: #758
Kaylee is a fawn female. She is a pug mix born to Kelly, a pug we took in heavily pregnant from a local shelter. She is in excellent health. She is heartworm negative, current on vaccinations, and has been microchipped.

KellyPH ID: #757
Kelly is a fawn female. She is about 2 years old and comes to us from a local animal control facility where she had been picked up heavily pregnant. After we took her in she delivered 5 pups. Sadly, only one has survived. We will continue to post updates as the situation develops.

Update: Kelly continues to do well. She is heartworm negative and has been a good mommy to Kaylee, but now Kaylee has been weened and it's time to think about finding Kelly a new home. Kelly has now been spayed and is ready to go to her forever home. This is one happy girl that loves toys, chase and cuddles.

KessiePH ID: #523
Kessie is a black female. She is a 3 year old owner surrender through no fault of her own. She is heartworm negative and in good health. She has been spayed, microchipped and is current on her vaccinations. She is a very playful girl.

KevinPH ID: #397
Kevin is a fawn male. He is an owner surrender through no fault of his own. He has been suffering from some demodectic and sarcoptic mange but has been on medication and that is clearing now. He is a handsome little guy! He is in good health; he is heartworm negative. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

KimberlyPH ID: #749
Kimberly is a 5 year old fawn female who was picked up as a stray by a local animal control. She is heartworm negative, spayed, and has a microchip, but her owner never claimed her during her 5 days in jail so she was released to us. She is a beautiful girl, with a very flat face and great nose roll. Her coat is in good condition and at 20 lbs, she’s at the appropriate weight for her size. She has some blood in her urine, so she will be evaluated and treated for the underlying problem.

KimmiePH ID: #283
Kimmie is an 8 month old survivor from a puppy mill.

KingstonPH ID: #761
Kingston is a black male. He comes to us from a local animal control facility. He is about 4 years old. He is in good health; he is heartworm negative. He has been neutered, microchipped and brought current on his vaccinations.

From Kingston's foster: Kingston is a Boston/Pug mix with a long tongue that cracks me up. He falls asleep and there it is, hanging just slightly out of his mouth. He likes to run around and follow the other dogs around to see what they are doing. I think he would also make a good only dog because he mostly likes to cuddle with people. He is EXTREMELY cuddley and likes to nuzzle people. He knows how to use the dog door and is potty trained, I haven't noticed any accidents from him. He is crate trained, but doesn't need it. He is healthy and current on everything. He will capture some lucky persons heart.

LaceyPH ID: #279
Lacey is an adorable fawn female who came to us from a local shelter after somebody left her and her "sister" Lisa at their door one night. We do know that she had her right eye removed some time ago. We also know that Lacey and Lisa are extremely bonded pair and need to stay together.

Lacey has tested positive for heartworms and will begin treatment immediately. She has been brought up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and spayed.

From Lacey & Lisa's foster: Lisa & Lacey truly are a bonded pair. They are always together. They are either cuddling together, sleeping together, cleaning each others faces, or playing together. It is so precious to watch the two of them. We aren't 100% sure of their history, but whatever it was must have included some not so nice humans. They are still very cautious of humans and still often cower and run when you reach down to pick them up. They are learning to trust us though. When I sit with them, they both will come up and give me double team pug kisses! Lacey seems to be more social than Lisa, although Lisa has made a lot of progress since we've had them. They are learning what toys are finally! We are still working on the potty training, but they are getting a little better each day. They get along well with other dogs - they don't have the same trust issues with them as they do humans. In fact, I often find them grooming my own dogs - one on each side! Lisa & Lacey would do great in a quiet environment with patient humans who will help them learn that not all humans hurt.

LadyPH ID: #108
Lady is a sweet fawn female. She was found wandering the streets by a Good Samaritan. She had no tags or collars and it was pretty evident that nobody had been taking care of her for quite a while. We estimate she is about 5-6 years old. She does not appear to have been spayed, so that will need to be done prior to placement. She has been brought current on her vaccinations and microchipped. She appears to have 'dry eye' which is so common in pugs which have been living outdoors. She is also currently suffering from a case of demodectic mange (non-contagious) as well as a bad yeast infection on her skin. These will clear with time and treatment.

Lady is an appropriate name for this little girl. She has an air of serenity and elegance about her. Even in her bedraggled state, she appears like a prim and proper little lady who should really be wearing a pearl necklace or a lacy dress. She is a lover - she loves to cuddle and be held. In no time at all Lady will look as beautiful as she should and she will need a home where she will be pampered and loved.

LarryPH ID: #694
Larry is a fawn male. He was found wandering the streets with no tags or microchip. He is heartworm negative and is in excellent health. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations. We estimate he is between 4 to 6 years old.

From Larry's foster: Meet Larry the pug. The first thing I noticed about Larry was his sweet face - it's one of the most beautiful pug faces I've ever seen. Once you get to know him, you will know that it's not only his face that is sweet. This boy does not have a mean bone in his little body. He is so gentle with people and with his fellow foster dogs - he does't even mind our cats! Larry has great house manners and is such a laid back guy. We estimate Larry to be about 4 years old, and he has no known health issues. He came to us obviously crate trained, as that is where he preferred to spend much of his time, even when we were home. He has learned however, the enjoyment of snuggling on a couch, and even the big bed. Larry would be the perfect addition to any household - although he has not been around young kids with us, I expect he would be as gentle with them as he is with us. You have to meet this boy - you will fall in love immediately!

LaylaPH ID: #109
Layla is a beautiful black female. She is estimated to be about 2 to 3 years old. She was found wandering the streets and turned into us by a Good Samaritan. She has apparently been on her own for a little while and needs a little TLC. She has tested heartworm postive and is starting treatment. She has been brought up to date on her vaccinations and microchipped. She will be spayed this week.

Layla loves to be the center of attention. She gets on well with other dogs but likes to be 'top dog.' She would do well as the only dog or with a more laid-back companion. She loves human attention and is very talkative.

LeahPH ID: #110
Leah is a cute little fawn female. She is 6 years old. She has been spayed, microchipped and brought up to date on her vaccinations.

She is in good health aside from some vision problems. Leah cannot see out of one of her eyes. The other still has vision but she does have chronic dry eye so she will need daily drops to help keep it moist. Despite this, she sees pretty well and gets around just fine.

Leah has such a sweet, outgoing personality! She is a charmer. She believes she is the Belle of the ball and cannot understand why anyone would not want to cuddle her all day long. She adores attention and would probably do best in a home where she would be showered with affection and not have to share her humans with too many other pets.

LeePH ID: #285
Lee is a 3 year old fawn male. He was an owner surrender. He is heartworm negative. He is current on his vaccinations, microchipped and neutered.

LeePH ID: #499
Lee is a fawn male. He is 5 years old. He comes to us from a local animal control facility. He is heartworm positive and will begin treatment shortly. He also has a mass on his right rear leg that is being evaluated. He has been microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

Update: We are thrilled to report that Lee has completed his heartworm treatment! Also, the mass on his leg has been checked by our vet and found to be nothing to worry about. This means this little guy is all clear and ready for his new home!

LeelaPH ID: #111
Meet Leela! Leela is a beautiful young fawn female. She's not quite 2 years old yet. She's packed with much energy and love. She was surrendered by her current owner due to some family changes, so she is healthy, spayed and up to date on her shots.

She gets along well with other dogs and does well with children. She loves to play - quite a bit of 'puppy' still remains in this little girl! Due to her playful nature, she would do best in a home with other animals.

Leela is housetrained, but not used to being left alone for long periods of time. Easy access to a yard would be a big plus for her. She is leash trained and does well on walks. She is not crate trained - why sleep in a crate when you can sleep on a bed?

Leela has been through a lot of changes recently and needs a stable home environment. She needs someone who can give her a 'forever' home.

LeeleePH ID: #776
Lee Lee is a fawn female. She comes to us with her sister Leia. We will post more once she has settled into a foster home. What we can say is that she is now on a strict diet to get her healthy for this summer heat.

Lee Lee came to me a very chunky monkey- but we have her on a diet and she walks and plays with the other dogs so she is starting to get a waistline! She is a very funny girl- always smiling and a little sneaky! She watches the other dogs very quietly from the side, and then strikes for her chance to grab a toy or extra food, and runs…. it is like a game for her. She thinks she deserves a treat for everything she does and will run to the treat cabinet and just stare at the door – like she can open it with mind control. She is excellent on the leash and has some basic commands down. A wonderful, sweet girl! She gets along very well with my other dogs, but you can tell she thinks she is more human than dog.

LeiaPH ID: #775
Leia is a fawn female. She came to us with her sister Lee Lee. After she has been checked out by our vet and settles into a foster home, we will post a full bio. Meanwhile she, like her sister, has been put on a diet to get her to a healthier weight.

LeoPH ID: #718
Leo is a fawn male. He is an owner surrender. This little guy is only a year old. He is in good health; he is heartworm negative. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations.

From Leo's foster: Leo is quite the active little guy. He's really quite young and he has all the energy and curiosity that comes along with youth. As you can see by his pictures he is also quite the handsome little fellow. He's an average size Pug and is quite pretty. He does have two very definitive features, first of all his nose is pale pink in the middle, it looks like he's rubbed the black off. Secondly, he has one of the longest tongues that I have ever seen, it is really quite cute. He almost always has part of it hanging out of his mouth and he doesn't have to be very close at all to give your face a good licking :)

As I said previously, Leo is quite active. But he is also quite loving. After he wears himself out playing he jumps up on the couch, cuddles up to me and crashes. He hasn't had a lot of training and I'm trying to teach him a few things, he's beginning to know what "No" means. But all in all he's one great little Pug. He is a very good combination of all things that are good about the breed. Leo will need to have a buddy that likes to play as much as he does, he will keep pestering his foster siblings until someone gives up and plays with him for awhile. One more positive about him is he's completely housebroken, he hasn't had one accident since he's come to live here.

Leo will be a great companion for a young person/couple that is very active and will like to take him to the park and on walks. I don't think he will be a good fit for a family with very young children as he will be much too active for them. Some lucky human will have a long and happy relationship with Leo.

LeonardPH ID: #112
Leonard is a beautiful fawn 'silver' male. He is just under 1 year old. He was an owner surrender due to his not getting along with a bigger dog in the house. He is current on his vaccinations, microchipped and has been neutered. He is in excellent health.

Leonard is a typical 1 year old pup. He has tons of energy and just loves to play. He likes to play tug-o-war and play with other dogs. Given his energy, he probably would do best in a pug-only environment, since a 'big' dog may not know how to react to him. He might also do well with older children.

LeroyPH ID: #806
Leroy’s secret name is Happy! He is one of the happiest Pugs I have ever encountered. He is always in a good mood and has a wagging tail to prove it. He’s also a really good Pug. He’s not a barker and he’s doing reasonably well in the house. He was neutered a few days ago so I anticipate that in the next several days any mistakes he makes will stop.

Leroy has an extremely handsome face. He’s also one of those Pugs that makes it impossible to get a picture of him that does him justice. He is MUCH cuter than the pictures. He has a really smushed in nose and he has a small under bite and his tongue sticks out a little. He’s really cute. His mask is really dark and his fawn color is pretty light. He’s not a small Pug but he sure is a cuddly Pug, he loves to be loved and stays as close to me as he can. He will eventually work his way into the pile of Pugs that is on my lap to get his time. He loves to play and has chosen Oliver as his favorite playmate, the only problem is that Oliver isn’t overly happy with being selected. Leroy will do very good in a home with another playful dog or a house with humans that likes to play with him. I think he would really do well in a house with children. He isn’t mouthy and he’s not a jumper so he would be a good fit for little people.

If you are a happy person and want a happy Pug to keep you company, Leroy is the one for you. Or if you’re not overly happy, Leroy is REALLY the one for you because you can’t be around him and not smile . He is heartworm negative so he’s ready, willing and able to find his new home.

LewisPH ID: #401
Lewis is a gorgeous fawn male. He is just a year old. He was found wandering the streets with no tag or microchip. When nobody came to claim him we took him in. He has been neutered, microchipped and brought current on his vaccinations. He is in good health and is heartworm negative.

LexPH ID: #262
Lex is a black male puppy. He is just about 1 year old. He was found wandering the streets by a good samaritan. He has not been neutered but will be prior to placement. He is heartworm negative. He has been brought current on his vaccinations and microchipped.

From Lex's Foster: Lex has all of the energy that you would expect from a puppy. He is very playful and loves his toys especially his rawhide chews. Lex gets along great with other dogs whether at mealtime or bedtime in a crate together. As I move around the house, he is following, and as soon as I sit, he is there ready to lay in my lap. It seems that Lex has been raised around kids in his past life, and loves their attention as well. Lex is a quick learner and already responds to "sit" and "shake" and has had a lot of practice with "get down". He is still being potty trained but loves the freedom of a doggie door. Lex seems so happy just to get the smallest bit of attention; he will make a wonderful family pet.

LexiPH ID: #438
Lexi is an adorable fawn female. She is 10 years old. She is heartworm negative and has been spayed. Lexi came to us with a bad case of kidney stones. When our Vet performed her spay he also planned to remove the stones. However, her one kidney was so badly damaged due to the stones that he ended up removing it as well. She should do just fine with one kidney as we have seen this with other dogs who lived normal lives after this kind of surgery. She will need to be on special food to make sure she doesn't get anymore stones in her remaining kidney.

From Lexi's foster: Lexi has flourished and is a love to have around! She's an extremely smart girl and insists on being the 'Queen' of the house. She is completely potty trained and enjoys using the doggie door to occasionally tan herself on pretty sunny days. She loves to play with her toys and enjoys our walks through the neighborhood. She is quite the socialite with anyone who comes up to her to say hello (especially the kids). She tolerates my other fosters, but obviously prefers to be the Grand Dame. Lexi studies her human and gets to know your every move! She will surprise you and make you marvel at her intuitiveness! Lexi would make a great companion for an adult couple or a single person. She's a perfect little friend!

Lil BearPH ID: #821
Meet Little Bear! My guess is that he got his name because he resembles a small bear cub! He is a big pug, weighing in at 30 lbs! L. Bear was surrendered to us due to no fault of his own. This guy is an angel!

He's 3 years old, healthy, housebroken, and as sweet as they come. L.

Bear was an only dog in his previous home, and he would probably do better in a home with no, or fewer, less active dogs. He's a bit overwhelmed with our pug crew, but is adjusting. He is my shadow, wondering why his life has changed so much. Every day he comes a little more out of his shell and realizes life is going to be ok after-all.

His face, as you can see, would melt any heart - and when you meet him person, you'll understand why!

Lil NickyPH ID: #377
Lil Nicky is a fawn male. He is 8 years old. He is an owner surrender due to foreclosure. He has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his vaccinations. He is housebroken, happy and looking for a great family to love him. He is currently on a diet and geting some exercise.

From his Foster: Little Nicky is a love sponge. The more you give, the more he soaks up. He thinks he is an alpha male, but he backs down the second another pug stands up to him. He has some separation issues, but they are not too bad. He does not like it when anyone leaves the house and will try to grab your pants leg (or your leg) as you walk through the door. He barks and woo woos for a bit after you leave. Stainless steel bowls are not his favorite and he is learning that kibble is better than being hungry. There is quite a lot to love about Nicky, so he is on a diet of half kibble, half green beans. He LOOOOVES green beans and should soon be a svelte, easy breathing guy. He is full of energy and loves to take short walks, but he also enjoys couch time. He marked when he first came here, but a belly band is doing the trick for Nick. He would do well in a house with a strong alpha female to keep him in line.
